Too strict of a property. Too mant rules. Felt like we were being watched a lot

The crew from the front desk to all the helpers in the restaurants plus the pool bar always make sure we had something to drink or eat. The place was clean. The room was beautiful and enjoy sitting outside and the server came by if we wanted something. The only thing I wish the pool bar stay open longer especially Friday and Saturday. But otherwise very happy to had stay at excellent playa mujeres. I will recommend my family to visit and stay at that resort . Some of my family that came all of them love it. Will come again.

Absolutely amazing, from the food, to the beach, to the incredibly well maintained resort. Who knew heaven was a place in Cancun!

The experience i had was differently upscale for sure. From the moment you walk in and through out the visit the staff was there at your service always. The food is the best food i had in any Cancun resort. The beach and the bars was exceptional. The swim up bar from our room was wonderful for anytime swim. 5 minutes from the ferry to isla Mujres was very convenient. Water sports in the resort right in the beach too. Excellent for real.

Excellent!!!!

Everything was excellent. The facility is well kept and very clean and safe. The staff always smiles and gives you the greeting of the day when passing you. We had a great time at the pool bar and the bartender Oscar was excellent Also the walking pool side waiter trainee Fabiola service to our group was very excellent I plan to return back soon again. We loved the Excellence Family!

We stayed at the Excellence Playa Mujeres for a week for our honeymoon, during the end of August. I want to stress 2 important points (one good, one bad) to anyone reading these reviews: 1. The resort itself was amazing. The staff were funny, professional, and helpful. The daily assortment of activities were very well coordinated and entertaining. The nightly shows like the amazing Queen cover band (seriously, it was as if Freddie Mercury returned) was all great. The beach is beautiful, barely any seaweed, clear white sands, and a shoreline with no harsh waves and clear water. We never had an issue finding a palapa by the ocean (even when we slept in past 10am). The trip to Chichen Itza coordinated by the hotel went without a hitch. 2. Now, the one - and really, only one - downside that causes us to review this as a 4/5... was the food. My wife is Mexican and I have had the pleasure of enjoying authentic Mexican food for the last 5 years that we have been dating, including traveling to Mexico several times. The food at this resort was not - not even in the slightest - authentic Mexican food, nor was it even "good" food. The fancy french restaurant, the Japanese sushi place, the Italian place, and yes even the Mexican breakfasts, were all just bland, dry, under-seasoned boring dishes. The tortillas were rock hard. The flautas crumbled in your mouth. The tortilla soup tasted like alphagettios. The guacamole was a thin goop. We actually laughed at how bad it all was. 1/10.

I did not like that I wasn’t able to get in our swim out pool at night.

No buffet for lunch. Very loud music played until past 11pm, which is problematic if you have a room near the music area. Moderate wait times for restaurants. Staff are generally very good. Ocean view is a stretch for many rooms.

From the greeting at the door with champagne to the all the staff We interacted with were all amazing.

Excellent as its name!!

Only complaint I have is our coffee and creamer supplies were not restocked daily as it should have been. I did call and request this a couple of times. Last night there our coffee packs were restocked but no creamer. We loved the Mexican night. Entertainment and food was excellent! Grounds was beautiful. Staff very polite and helpful. Wished the seaweed had not been so bad at beach area. But overall everything was very nice. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The bed was hard, uncomfortable and there is a dress code for most of the restaurants. Food lacks spice. Besides those minor things, everything else was perfect and beautiful

staff was extremely friendly and always making sure we had a great experience. Lots of space at the pool and the area was quiet during the day. A lot of activities to participate in throughout the day and late night parties as well.

I’m not sure where all the positive reviews are coming from. This was the worst experience I’ve had in Cancun. The pool water was hot, the food was subpar, service was so slow (waited about 1-1.5 hour every time before our entree came out). Coffee shop wasn’t good. Nothing was good. The massage I got was terrible. It felt like the lady was just rubbing lotion on me the whole time. The facial I got burned my face and ended up breaking out days after. I do NOT recommend this resort.

This was by far the best resort I have ever stayed at. I usually never repeat stays but I can’t wait to stay here again. From the property, room, staff, and food truly exceptional. A true 5 star.

The food and service were excellent. The beach was fantastic. The mosquitoes were treacherous. The evening shows were lacking. Poor quality of night entertainment.

This was the ultimate honeymoon spot in Mexico. We have no regrets going and will most likely be going back in the future. This was a great sdults only resort with all of the amenities and nice little touches for 5 star service. Not pver crowded and not too big to walk to and from the beach/restaurants etc. The food was amazing we didnt have a meal we didnt enjoy and the staff is top notch.

The service/staff was impeccable. Food was delicious. Rooms were clean and resort was easy to get around.

Absolutely extraordinary resort from the most junior to senior staff. Excellent food & great variety, beautiful suites, pools & wonderful evening entertainment!

Not a party spot. There are a lot of rules. Not many bars to go to. Not enough to do at night. Only go for a honeymoon or something not groups like we did.

This is a beautiful relaxing resort. It doesn’t have a ton of day time entertainment and at times feels too quiet. However, it’s so clean and the staff are great. They have a strange rule about men having to wear sleeved shirts in every restaurant except for the one by the beach. It’s strange because they don’t even allow it at the buffet or 2 other outdoor restaurants. It’s humid and hot, it’s a beach resort. Most men will be wearing tanks!

We are soo happy with our recent stay at Excellence Playa Mujeres! It’s our second time at an all include resort and we are very pleased with our stay here. Amazing food and options at this resort. We traveled with another couple and the wife was vegetarian, there were separate menus she could order from and had plenty of options! Our favorite restaurants were The Grill, Lobster House for dinner, and Spice for sushi! Room service was good for breakfast and nice so you could get ready for the beach/pool while eating. The drinks were sooo good and did not lack in the alcohol department! Lots of options too. From pina coladas, mojitos, old fashions, margaritas, martinis, and beer! The resort itself is very clean and has a refreshing feeling. Housekeeping kept our room so clean and stocked with clean towels, water, etc. Lots of pools, they didn’t feel overcrowded during our stay. While there was only 1 in-pool bar, staff served us drinks in the pools and were around very frequently. We never had to get out and go to a bar to get a drink. Even by the beach, servers came around and we could order drinks from them! Cons: Biggest complaint was that we were not allowed our own pool floaties. At the other resort we went to, pool floats were allowed. I enjoy relaxing in the pool with a float so this was upsetting to me. The resort does have a very limited amount of provided pool floats but guests can only use those and not your own. As you can imagine, they were a hot commodity and
