The view of the bridge from our room and balcony outweighs the downfalls of the room.

So from the outside i was very scared to go in. The wood was all broken and there was dirt all over the front of the building. Our room had a private entrance that went upstairs to our own door. Upon entering the staircase there were cobwebs and bugs all over the box for the fire extinguisher, upong going up stairs the light ficture on the ceiling was the same cobwebs and spiders and bugs, when i went inside it was a different story. The entire room and been redone with new wood planks and new flooring, the furniture was old and could use a replacement, and the bed was super hard. My husband and i both have back problems so it was a hard couple nights sleep.
The bathroom vent fan didnt work it had a loud squeaking sound so we had to turn it off, the window in the bathroom had cobwebs in it also.
But other than those couple things it was a nice room and i would stay again, if i could get the same room, just have to bring a bed roll to make the bed more comfortable.

We really enjoyed our room. The beds were comfortable. We had a nice view of the bridge, and the hotel is so close to everything in Mackinaw City.

Was very clean and quiet. For us a larger wastebasket would have been nice. Balcony was small and had only 1 chair, but was very relaxing and had a great view of the bridge

Very very dirty as soon as we walked in, essentiallythe floors. Our daughter walked for only a few minutes and here feet were crazy black. We were very confused, then figured out all our feet were black from the dirty floor. We asked management to clean our room the next day. They never got to it. They only cleaned it the day before we had to leave from our 3 night stay. Very not professional.

Other than the place just needs a good cleaning, its not that bad. Staff just needs to take a little bit more time to do a thorough cleaning.

We were told our room would be ready at 4. And we got there at that time and it was not. We had to wait till 7pm and mess up our afternoon plans bc we couldn’t get into our rooms.. But in the meantime we pulled up around 6 to see if they were done yet and there was someone on a bike dealing to our cleaners. We were pissed. No wonder it took them so long to clean our rooms.
On top of that their pool was green and gross, as well as the “beach” was not clean and it was overgrown. I give this place a 1 out of 5 bc atleast when the rooms were clean the room looked good.

We stayed in updated room facing the water. The rooms was nice, but beds need to be updated. It was clean. The plumbing not so great for the toilet. View was gorgeous.

We enjoyed our stay. Front desk clerks were very friendly and welcoming. Room was newly redone for the most part but, still had some “old” outdated equipment. Air conditioner worked well but fan was very noisy, maybe needed a little oil. Beds were clean and comfortable. Beach area was easily accessible. Appreciated views of the bridge and the island in the distance. Lot’s of people but, relatively quiet. Could be excellent accommodations just needs a little more attention to detail. Over all an enjoyable stay.

After reading the reviews we were a little nervous, but as soon as we arrived the front desk staff was amazing, and they even quickly accommodated for our puppy and a last minute additional night stay! The rooms were newly renovated, and very spacious! We even got a little gift for staying with them! Totally recommend!

First off, I would recommend. Here's a breakdown.
Pros:
-Good rates compared to other hotels.
-Great location. It was right on the water and looking out our sliding door was the bridge, freighters and ferries.
-Room was remodeled. It had a fridge with freezer, a coffee maker and a microwave as well.
-It was quiet. I could hear the waves from my room too.
-The beds and pillows were comfortable. Also there were many pillows with two levels of firmness.
-Staff was nice and helpful.
-Perks like games to borrow, and a fire pit right outside our sliding door, were nice.
Cons:
-Pool seemed to need some attention and the hot tub was not hot.
-Some small things: Some epoxy or polyurethane looked to be dripped on the tub during remodel. The screen door had some small rips. The bathroom door was hard to close.
Overall, I was glad we booked the place. I wanted to be right on the water with a nice beach. I didn't care about having a pool or complementary breakfast. I cared more about having a nice comfortable room, with the perks I needed and wanted. This place had those things.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights over the 4th of July weekend. We absoluty loved it. We got moved to the Sunrise motel, we got a 2nd story room with a balcony that overlooked lake Huron and the bridge. It was beautiful! There were few minor things but the good outweighed the bad! We can't wait to come back next year!

Tv remote barely works, ran out of toilet paper, access to ice was inconvenient, staff was rude and condescending when we told her no fridge and when they preapproved my debit card without consent (resulting in bouncing my bank acc) when I booked this room on Expedia it gave us a option to pay on arrival

Went to stay here for 2 nights. Arrived late at night and they left the key in the mailbox. Went into room and there was cob webs in every corner, I had to kill 9 giant spiders (seen in pictures) I used a coat handed to twirl up the cob webs. There was tissue stuffed in the window a/c unit (fully view of the outside/draft). The shower didn’t drain. Tried to go to office to talk to and no one was there. Called multiple times to get a different room no one answered. It was late so we had to stay the one night. I was in the phone with Expedia trying to cancel tomorrows night cause we couldn’t stay another night in these conditions. In the morning, was told I need to go to management to get a refund for the following night. And I had to drive to different hotels with a sign on the door saying go to this location, once you got to that location had to go to the other location. Once arrived had to wait for someone to arrive and she was extremely unprofessional and rude. Not to be mean but she was straight “white trash” and Her face was wrinkled up and stuck up not to because she already knew she wasn’t going to accommodate her guest and said you need to cancel 3 days prior to your stay. How were we suppose to know the room was going to be this poor of condition and then can’t cancel the following night. Total scam to have a policy in place that you need to cancel 3 days prior when you can see the condition of the room until you get there. The pictures are false advertising.

Though the view was great, that was the only thing good about this property. No staff around, not the cleanest, amenities advertised weren't working, broken coffeepot and no one to report it to, felt apprehensive when in the room (not safe), inconvenient to have to go to another hotel for amenities. Will not stay here again.

The room itself was clean enough and the location was PERFECT for my getaway needs. The reason for my rating is due to security. I’m a single woman traveling alone. Security is crucial. I arrived around 8pm, so it was dark. I had to check in at the office of the property next door, which is fine. However, when I drove back over to this property, there were limited exterior lights on the property, and NONE on my building. It was very dark. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to walk around until I located my room. Once I found it, and got into the room, none of the interior lights worked either! I had to wander the dark property and room with my phone for light! Eventually I discovered a couple of unplugged lamps, plugged them in and was okay. I get that I was traveling off season, and as such properties like this look for ways to run more cost effectively. I don’t expect full service or red carpets, but if I’m giving them my money, I do expect lights.

This motel does not match the pictures posted at all. When we got to our room there was bugs and spider webs everywhere, dust, the sheets were damp and musty, there was a fan in there left from trying to air the place out I’m assuming, there was a door connecting it to another hotel room. Just overall very scary and would not recommend at all. We were refused a refund so we had to transfer to another motel under the same ownership.

A trip to Mackinaw City is also a good thing. A nice place to stay is even better. This was not a bad place for the cost. It had a good view of the beach and a spot for a bonfire if wanted.
For the condition of the room, was ok. That's all I'll give it.
Things I did notice. The shower head sucked, there numerous bugs outside the door, being near water that is slightly expected. As well as a nice amount of what look like to me cigarette burns, on the chairs and wall.
So if your looking for just a one night stay and your only gonna be in the room to sleep. This is a good one.

There were no outside lighting in the parking lot, had to use flashlights to navigate to our room. The rooms have a bad odor as well as unclean and believe me when I say this SPIDER INFESTED. Spiders are literally everywhere all around the outside deck, chairs, inside in every corner, on the TV, in shower.
The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating.

Nice rooms. Clean. Couldn't get the TV to work. Love the beach area. It was probably because it was late when we checked in, but we had to go to a different hotel to get our keys for our hotel room that was 4 hotels down the road. The guy at the desk was really friendly so that was a plus. I would definitely stay again.

The rooms were full of spiders. The excuse was that they are on the water. We go up there every year and stay at other hotels on the water and never have had that issue. The pools were nasty. Just nasty.
