The location was just perfect for the Strand. The staff were excellent and so helpful. The room was a little dated but clean, comfortable and HUGE. Only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay a week here.

Management. Double charged to card for the same stay. Manager never available in person and did not want to be contacted by phone and did not bother to respond. Zero communication from management to date.

The location

i had two 2 bedroom apartments booked for the week of 23 - 28 January. I contact Madison prior to the 2 day cancelation period as Townsville had a pending cyclone warning. I asked if I could potentially postpone my visit given the circumstances and was told NO that only under emergency circumstances would they consider this. So as not to loose our payment we proceeded with the trip and were in Townsville when the cyclone hit. Fortunately, it was not as extreme as first predicted however on the 3rd night of our stay we lost power. The following day the fob swipe systems began to fail, we lost access to doors main entrance gate entrances and at times our rooms faulted. We were leaving our room unlocked and using balcony door access. We alerted the staff to this (manager was nowhere to be seen) the poor young girl who was working on the weekend alone was inundated with problems and complaints and was clearly out of her depth with no help!! After 2 days we still had no power, and no communication from management AT ALL, food and drinks in fridge had spoilt and melted, there was no offer of help or compensation, one bedroom had no flyscreens on windows my grandchildren were eaten alive by mosquitos just to try and have some form of breeze during the night. The temperature over night was still 29 degrees with 80 % humidity. We realise the power outage was not the fault of Madison but the management and lack of support and communication or assistance was disgusting. I have been trying to contact management by phone all day since returning home last night with no success, constant busy signal by phone. I will be emailing again and requesting a call back within a reasonable amount of time, I believe it fair to request a partial refund on our stay. If they are not forthcoming I will be leaving a negative review on their site.

Eigentlich hatte ich im Madison Ocean Breeze Hotel gebucht. Nachdem Townsville von einem Cyclon heimgesucht wurde, hat sich mein Aufenthalt um einen Tag verschoben, da mein Flug nach Townsville gecanceled wurde. Ich habe dann am Tag davor schon angerufen wegen der Umbuchung, das hatte tatsächlich geklappt. Allerdings fing dann der Ärger erst an. 6 Stunden bevor ich in den Flieger stieg habe ich nochmals im Hotel angerufen weil in den Medien von diversen Schäden an der Stromversorgung und Gebäuden die Rede war. Erst hiess es das kein Strom verfügbar wäre und ich ins Madison Ocean Plaza umgebucht werde. Allerdings kam ca. 3 Stunden später die Antwort, ich werde doch nicht umgebucht, es wäre Strom da, nur kein Wlan. Ok in Ordnung dachte ich. Da ich nach 20uhr in Townsville ankam, brauchte ich einen late check in, den ich auch gebucht hatte. Mir wurde ein Code für einen Safe ausserhalb des Hotel zugeschickt. Ich nahm ein Taxi zum Hotel und stand im Dunkeln. Das Hotel komplett ohne Strom, verlassen, nicht ein Mensch zu sehen. Ich rief im Ocean Plaza an und erklärte was passiert ist. Mit wurde gesagt dass man zwar zur selben Hotelgruppe gehört aber nicht weiss was im anderen Hotel vor sich geht. Man ruft mich zurück. Ich wartete also im dunkeln auf der Strasse vorm Hotel, da fast im ganzen Viertel kein Strom war. Nach vier Telefonaten und 40 Minuten später sagte man mir, ich soll ein Taxi nehmen und ins Ocean Plaza kommen. Taxi dauerte nochmals 35 Minuten bis es kam. Mittlerweile war es kurz vor 22.30uhr, mir wurde die Schlüsselkarte in die Hand gedrückt und einen schönen Abend gewünscht. Als ich ins Hotelzimmer kam, der nächste Schreck. Ich hatte im Ocean Breeze ein Studio mit Queensizebett gebucht. Das Zimmer was ich bekam, war klein, alt und nicht sauber. Der TV funktionierte nicht, die Jalousie defekt, der Teppichboden voller Flecken. Die Krönung waren noch Flecken auf der Bettdecke. Keine Minibar, kein Getränk. Rezeption war dann schon geschlossen.

The Madison is located 50 metres off the Strand and all rooms appear to have ocean views. Our room which was a studio was very large. It consisted a queen bed which was comfortable, lounge, small dining table and chairs, kitchenette with good sized fridge, microwave and 2 burner hot plate. The bathroom was roomy and shower pressure very good. Our towels were changed daily. Our balcony had a great view. Most importantly the air conditioner worked a treat (thank goodness as the weather outside was so humid and oppressive). The staff were excellent.

Room size great ,beds comfortable, having a great kitchen area is a good bonus would like to think our next stay offers the same great price

Large apartment. Nice beds. Glad to have a lift to the different floors and secure basement parking.

We were charged for an extra room that we didn't book from booking.com. The manager didn't get our money back or help us,which is disappointing.

When I arrived my room wasn’t made up. Very disappointing to walk into an already used room. When I re booked a different room on a different day. The room wasn’t clean properly.

Close to beach, restaurants. Undercover parking.

Funny smell in room no one checked for us. Could not connect to wifi. Reception hours short. Info in folder not always correct or enough. When pool was open , toilet was not. Pool very hot, didn’t use shade over pool to cool it down. Side gate locked with chain so couldn’t use.

Location, value for money. While we didn’t use cooking facilities they are good.

So close to the Strand. Corner suite with 2 balconies. Big room with plenty of room for four guests. Nice pool. Arranged an early check in with no problem.

Great location just behind The Strand, across the road from the delicious Anelay (Afternoon Delights - yes please!), a 2 minute walk to the Seaview and 3 minutes to Coles. Spacious 2 bdrm 2 bthrm apartment with great balcony and in-room laundry facilities.

Pretty basic, motel-like accommodation really and our room could've been cleaner (so we ended up doing that ourselves). The dishwasher also didn't work for the duration of our stay.

It is a great location, 60metres from the Strand. Big room all necessary appliances. My 3rd visit
