Narrow entrance to the car park but I guess the gateway is a protected structure.

Fantastic location, situated within walking distance of the main parts of town. The Bunker room was amazing, so quirky and quite spacious. Massive wet room with a rain shower, plenty of seating to chill after a long day of walking around York. The bed was super comfy and the room was lovely and warm. They also had a fan in case it was too warm, it has no windows (coz it's a Bunker). Staff were excellent, very knowledgeable about the area. They have pods in the garden that you can grab pizza and drinks in, looked great but we didn't have time to try them out. Definitely a must-do next time we're there.

The only thing that could possibly annoy people who aren't early birds is that you can hear people upstairs stomping around when everyone is headed to breakfast, but honestly it didn't really detract from the amazing experience we had. And again, the room had no windows because it's the Bunker so if that bothers you maybe request a different room, but you'd be missing out on the best room in the house!

Liked everything all good but if I had to say one negative thing it’s our room 135 backed onto rail line and the train trundled past noisily every half out till midnight ear plugs needed lol would stay again but not rooms on track side

Our stay was absolutely perfect for me, my mum, sister & niece. From the moment we pulled up to the building to leaving. The building itself is breathtakingly beautiful as is the garden, bar & rooms. We were welcomed by the nicest gentleman ever! He instantly made us feel welcome & couldn’t have been more helpful If he tried, a true gent with the biggest smile, instantly warming! Holding luggage was no issues at all on both arrival & departure. We got to explore the town both days to the full with just a short walk to the main facilities of York. The room was exceptional, all our requests were fulfilled & more. The bathroom was spacious, beautifully set out & so so so clean literally spotless. The beds were very comfy as was the linen. Gorgeous huge windows and even an extra heater to put on! The hairdryer was powerful, iron helpful & also a fan! Literally everything you could need and more. We didn’t want to leave the room the next day! In the evening we got to experience the igloos for free as the nice gentleman advised us we could and we were greeted by them with another true gent! Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for him, he was an exceptional host even in the pouring down snow & rain he still smiled & waited amazingly. We had the pizzas, fries and drinks in the igloo and it was delicious. The waitress that served us was a lovely young lady who was very professional, polite and happy. We got to take the rest of our pizza in boxes to our rooms too for a late snack! The prices are absolutely brilliant and would expect to pay a lot more for this whole experience. All in all we will be visiting again this year. It was truly gorgeous & the most relaxing trip we’ve ever had. Thank you to all the staff for making this a very very welcoming, delightful stay for us. We hope to see you again in spring!

Very friendly staff. Lovely room. Clean and warm. Loved the Brasserie- beautiful room and very good food. Good breakfast. Good tea and coffee facilities in room- enjoyed the Kit-Kats!

Had a Yorkshire pudding starter in the brasserie and the gravy was a bit watery.

Temperature in room was too hot. Once we mentioned it to reception they sorted it straight away.

It’s charge for car parking seems a lot and it’s first come first served because of that we decided to travel by rail

Everything! The best thing was the feel good vibe we got from simply walking up to the hotel and found to our joy that the mood continued inside! Spot on service, faultless breakfasts and surely an award winning evening meal. Awesome.

We were initially given a room (124) with no window, just a sky light, and an awkward entrance. We asked to be moved and the staff found a much better option immediately. I found that attempt to fob us off with possibly the worst room in the hotel very disrespectful. We paid a lot to stay in a good hotel, and that was not a good start. That room should come with a significant discount

Room was excellent for size,facilities and view The twin type breakfast met ones need for that day, light or full. Location was excellen, onsite carpark, yet ashort walk into the city.

Great location, close to train station and city centre. Hotel staff always friendly and helpful. Stayed in the hotel twice, also very clean. Pizzas are excellent and the outside garden is very welcoming and charming. Bar staff also very accomodating with any requests when asked to provide hot drinks in the evening.

Can't find any faults on both our staying last year and this year

Parking Available - (even though it was at a charge) was brilliant (especially for York) Room was a good size and bathroom was lovely Booked Bed & Breakfast which was an option when booking - glad I did ! Restaurant on site was a good for evening meals too we had two lovely meals Perfectly located to be able to walk everywhere

very little to dislike But as suggestions - it would have been better to have brighter lighting over the dressing table in the Bedroom. And for your info perhaps check the lamps etc more regularly as one of the bedside lamps did not work.

Everything the staff were very helpful and the meal in the restaurant was excellent value , nice to have lovely beer garden . Will definitely be going back .

Not very well lit in the corridors to the bedrooms but that did not detract from our wonderful stay.
