Great location only a 10m walk to The Shambles. Plenty of places to eat and drink in the immediate vicinity. The building was easy to get into with the door code and no trouble finding the keys to our appartment. The entryway smelled lovely walking in and was very well kept. The appartment was lovely and clean. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was a lovely unexpected surprise. Very much enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay again in the future.

Whilst the bed itself was very comfy, a couple of different types of pillow firmness would have been appreciated. We had very soft pillows on our stay that had no support, so I did struggle to sleep with these. The TV's were also very slow, and when we tried using the Plex app it really struggled to play anything on there to the point we gave up with it.

The apartment felt very luxurious. The decor was beautiful, there were good facilities, very clean and just a lovely place to stay.

I loved everything

Back in my favourite apartment in Barker Lane which is set back off the street down a quaint lane & feels very secure for a lone female traveller. Well lit and very quiet. It’s like a scene from Dickens, especially when it snows, with the street lamps and cobbles. I know I can get supplies with a 5 min walk to the local mini mart, plus it’s an easy stride with a heavy case to the station. I often attend the Cookery School at The Grand which is just at the bottom of the hill and when I’m ready to explore, York is just over the river. I have everything I need in the apartment and it’s warm and snug and the perfect place to unwind after a busy day. The addition of a throw on the sofa this time was a nice surprise and kept my feat toasty as I’d forgotten my slippers.

I’m very sensitive to dust & after sneezing a few times in the bedroom I realised there was quite a lot of it on the ceiling light shade. The part that could be reached from standing on the bed was dusted, but the other side was quite laden with dust.

Clean, well equipped and comfortable in a location that was perfect for us.

Lacking a coffee machine ( fussy, I know).

The property was super clean and accommodating as well as being very stylish and spacious.

There wasn’t much not to like, everything was wonderful! Only note was the hefty extra charge of early check in!
