Amazing place and staff couldn't do enough for us would recommend to anyone

The staff were lovely, really friendly and the breakfast (included) was good. The location was great.

Unfortunately the mattresses were hard and lumpy. The karaoke on Friday night went on til 1am, we were on 1st floor and it was very loud, kept us awake. Saturday night live band until 12, also very loud. Shower alternated boiling hot or freezing cold.

our stay had a touch of faulty towers about it … 1st morning of stay no hot water shower wouldn’t work and burning smell when trying to get it to work..: we reported to staff at breakfast who were excellent and checked it straight away, it was broken so we had to move room which was disruptive to our first day but handled quickly and efficiently. 2nd day our last day our room door wouldn’t open so again needed to get that sorted. despite all the hiccups which were handled quickly and efficiently by staff we did still have a lovely time in York the hotel is in a great central location and breakfast was nice.

Expensive for a room above a pub, but we did enjoy our stay.

not much not to like: while in bed one night the bathroom door swung open and slammed into the wall with a bang making my wife and myself wake with a fright. all windows closed and nothing to explain why this would happen. spooky, also wardrobe door opened at some point during the night.

The couple off staff working were very pleasant and friendly.

Came down for breakfast at 9 no one about and no table laid. Chef rushed in about 9.10 and hastily gave us a menu. I feel as the owners were away just a couple of people were left to do everything!

Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Room was good size, clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very nice, good quality food and cooked well. Staff checked if extra coffee or juice was wanted.

Only problem was parking. We parked in a long stay car park about 10 minutes walk away, parking was quite expensive.

The noice from the karaoke, though it does not prevent from falling asleep, no sweet option on breakfast menu.

Perfect location, close to tourist sites and to plenty of places to eat. Really nice people at the White Horse, couldn't have been more helpful.

Fine for us but you do need to remember that this is a pub and therefore can have a bit of noise on Friday and Saturday night.. Not excessive though

Staff helpful and welcoming location perfect for us. Its not a 5 star hotel it is what it says a pub with accommodation. Breakfast menu very good.

Was a bit noisy one morning as the city was Jack hammering right out front because of a hole in the road .

breakfast was awful and a big let down . waited 1 hour and when it came it tasted awful, like old cooking oil

This place is right next to all the shops ,restaurants and bars,easy walking distance,Scott who runs it will do anything for you,very helpful.Beakfasts were spot on.

They only do meals on certain days.

Road was noisy at night with windows open but its on a busy street so no fault of the pub!! A fan would be useful though to have as an option on warm nights 🙂.

Great location, only a short walk to all the main shops, pubs, bars etc. Just a 10/15 walk from the train station. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Cracking breakfast. It’s a nice pub to start your day in too.
