Enjoyed our stay! Great living space and fantastic backyard, great for my pup. Very clean and a short walk to the beach. Quiet neighborhood.

This property was attractive at first impression but the devil is in the details. The beds in all three bedrooms were very uncomfortable. The bed linens were akin to Walmart blue light specials. The pillows were also limp but the towels were the worst; they were very thin, small and dingy white. They looked like someone had washed their car with them. The stove and kitchen countertops were greasy but the rest of the house was clean. The bathrooms need towel racks and hooks to hang towels and robes. The pups loved the backyard. The sunset was gorgeous and we loved the mockingbird that sung in the tree every morning. The neighborhood was quiet. This place could be great with some simple and hospitable upgrades.

We were in town for the air show and Richard’s place was perfect for us for the weekend. Close proximity to Virginia Beach, and a lot of good restaurants nearby! Would stay again

The property is just as pictured. Only received one bath towel, one hand towel and two washcloths per person so I had to do laundry while on vacation. Most of kitchen equipment was broken or incomplete so we couldn’t cook like we expecting. There are great local restaurants. There was no all purpose cleaner provided or any paper products. The neighborhood is quiet. Easy walk to beach which was also pretty quiet.

We had a nice time at our beach house vacation. Some of our favorite features were the wagon, beach towels, beach chairs and an umbrella. The fenced in yard for our dog, was also great. Overall, the house was nice but there were several disappointing features. The back door is filthy. The back screen door wasn’t aligned properly and the screen is ripped at the bottom. The MB bed was extremely uncomfortable and dipped into the center. It is def time for that mattress to be replaced. The mattresses in the other rooms seemed to be fine. There was dusting hanging off of the fan in the MB. The soap holder in one of the bathrooms is chipping and there is a small hole on the wall where a toilet paper holder was once hung. Bath towels were provided, but their quality was poor. The biggest turn off for me was discovering several pieces of long hair in them. The kitchen towels were no better. Every single kitchen towel was badly stained and/or dirty. I didn’t feel like I was using clean towels. The kitchen provides the bare minimum you need to cook and eat, however if you are planning to pack food to go to the beach or are looking to store leftovers, you will need to bring your own containers and/or ziploc bags. We weren’t able to get the electric BBQ started so ended up using the charcoal one. We were disappointed that we couldn’t the fire pit bc there was no wood provided for it. With some improvements, this house could be a fantastic vacation home!

This was a nice place for our family vacation. The owner was very easy to contact and responded in a timely manner. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the cottage. When we first arrived, the bathrooms didn't seem like they had been cleaned. I found hair in one of the showers and on the edge of one of the fur bathroom rugs. If it was sanitized, I couldn't smell that any cleaning products had been used. One of the trash cans located at the side door hadn't been emptied. Too many flies were around it which was a bit of a nuisance. Again, nice place, but the cleaning staff could have done a better job.

The house was beautiful and had the comforts of home. The neighborhood was nice and quite. We were literally blocks from the bay beaches. It was only a short drive to the Virginia Beach boardwalk. There were plenty of stores and restaurants close by. Would stay again.

If your planning to stay in Norfolk and have pets look no further.The cottage was clean and well equipped and is a 5 minute walk to the beach.It has a great backyard totally fenced in so no chance of your dogs getting loose.The neighborhood was very quiet other than the awesome F-18 that flew over on Wednesday afternoon due to the military presence in Norfolk.We will definitely be back but stay longer next time!

Nice and cozy house, short walk to the beach

This was a great place! Clean I’m very comfortable location was great within walking distance to the beach. My son is in the Navy and it was very close to the base we had an opportunity to say goodbye and then we’re able to come back and relax.

This property was as described. Pros: Property allowed us to bring our fur baby. The kitchen had all necessary items. Washer and dryer was nice as were the games, cart, beach umbrella. Loved fenced backyard for our fur baby, with grill, hammock, chairs and fire pit. The three bedrooms plus recreation room were also a plus. We also liked the location. Cons: The place was not cleaned well. Crumbs on dining room table and dust and other debris throughout the cottage. The outlet behind the loveseat apparently didn’t work. There were plastic bottles left behind loveseat (water and Powerade) as well as a few checkers. The stove top was smeared and could use a thorough cleaning. Underneath the kitchen sink smelled. The hall toilet seemed to be running constantly. Coffee container was essentially empty and laundry detergent had only a corner in it. There were no dryer sheets. I’m including the information about the coffee, detergent and dryer sheets because your description stated they were available. Overall, we really liked the cottage and enjoyed our stay. Richard was readily available and check in was a breeze. We would love to return and take advantage of this nice property at some point in the near future. We were a group of 6 people with my fur baby a German Shepard. The house is in excellent condition clean and close to the beach with a nice backyard where the family can sit and enjoy the barbecue..Kitchen is beautiful with pots pans and everything you require. Nice cosy place will recommend to my family and friends and we will surely visit this place again. Richard is a good host and answered our calls whenever we needed . Thank you Richard

Great spot - close to beach, playgrounds, and amenities. Richard has provided a beach house full of thought for holiday makers. From games to hammock - our only regret was being so busy we didn't get a chance to truly relax and make the most of the house

My family and I wanted to try a new location and searched Virginia Beach, which is what I thought I had rented. Upon arrival, we learned we were in Norfolk Beach on the Western shore of a large bay. We found sandy, nearly empty beaches, 80-degree water, one-foot waves, and fishing. The kids had a great time without the commercialism of VB or OC. The house has been completely remodeled and is a "smart" home and "Hey Google" was fun to play with. It came with a beach cart, towels, and chairs, a wonderful luxury. VB is 30 minutes away where you get real ocean waves and crowds. We visited the Naval Yard and toured the USS Wisconsin, a very cool tour in downtown Norfolk. Would stay again. .

Conveniently located. Local beach is about a 10 minute walk through a mostly residential area. . Very quiet beach, plenty of room between groups. No lifeguards. Sandy beach with very little seaweed, no shells and no seagulls!

The house was the perfect size for us. We wanted to be near the beach on a budget and the worked great for us. The back yard was nice for shade and relaxing after a day at the beach. The property manager was easily available and helpful. The wagon full of beach chairs and umbrella was very helpful!

Other than my parents, the rest of our group have never been to Virginia before. We were actually scheduled to go to my brother’s wedding, but found it difficult to find a flight in the area of his wedding venue. After a bit of searching, we fully relied on faith to book a stay at the Bayview location. We’ve never booked with Vrbo before, so we were really nervous because there weren’t any reviews on the property; we were probably only the second people to book the location; the first people had visited a week or so prior to us. The host is SO nice! Not only is he nice, he is very considerate and thoughtful. He communicated regularly and answered any questions within minutes of me asking them. He put all of our minds to ease when I booked the location, advising that he had everything we may need on the trip and was considering adding even more. He even went as far as giving us a call to speak with us about his property and the different locations that we could visit in the area. When we finally arrived, it was a God send that it was so close to the airport. Our flight was already an evening flight, and it didn’t help that it was delayed by about 2 hours. But the nice thing was being able to get to the Bayview location within 20 mins of leaving the airport, to enter a clean, warm place that had everything we could’ve asked for and more. We were able to sleep everyone comfortably, the location was quiet, and even if there was a chance that we had forgotten something, there were backup items there (i.e. toiletries, laundry detergent, and towels). Everything was clean in the house, except for maybe the floors (they were a bit sandy), but we think it’s because not everyone takes their shoes off at the door like we do in our family. But, as I mentioned, everything was available as if it were a real home away from home, so it was an easy fix. I managed to vacuum, sweep, and mop in a short amount of time one day on the trip. The host had brand new games available for us to play, still in the boxes and shrink wrap. My 3-year old niece enjoyed playing Jenga, Operation, and Pie Face. The host also had a wagon stocked with towels, an umbrella, and three beach chairs that we were able to use to bring to the beach a block away. My dad, who has trouble walking long distances, was able to walk to the beach with my niece and sisters one day without a problem. Everything was great and we really want to stay again. We will book it again!

I just want to say thank you to Rich. He put alot of thought into the property. It was charming and comfortable from the beds to the couch. Beach access is very easy. Beachs were great. They have borad games and beach items if needed. And the back yard was a wonderful place to spend time. Only one wish and that's a king size bed. Being 6' 6" didn't leave much h room for my wife but we made it work. But we will be back!! Thanks Rich.
