We got to the property and checked in. We were supposed to have 2 double beds and we had one King size mattress. We dealt with that. When we opened the door to the room we were hit with a horrible tobacco odor.

A step above a roach motel, but barely. We had a broken, squeaky bed with collapsed springs, dirty carpet, a broken bedside lamp, one of only two bulbs out in the ceiling lighting, a filthy hair dryer, and the room reeked of cigarette smoke.

This was an overnighter stop, in late and out early. It was fine for that. It is an older, but well cared for, property, clean and in good condition. The wifi was weak, but we didn't need it. We got a good price and it met our needs, but it is no romantic getaway.

There were bugs in the bathroom. I didn’t feel comfortable using the shower.

There was a phone number to call to check in. If that wasn't uncomfortable enough the room had holes in the walls. The bed was the only thing clean but very uncomfortable.

the property was a good value. A good place for a one night layover. I do not ask for much in a value motel. It was adaquate for the money. I would stay here again.

This place was a pleasant surprise. I needed something cheap and last minute, so wasn't expecting much. Compared to similarly priced places I've stayed, this was by far the best. The staff was friendly and helpful. Although it's an older facility, it's been kept in good repair, was very clean inside and out, and the room didn't have that old cigarette smell that you sometimes run into in places that used to allow smoking. There's been some remodelling done so the bathroom counters and such were nice and the bed was comfy. The closet was deep enough to fit plenty of luggage so it's out of my hair. There was a delicious little Thai restaurant just down the street, and it's very close to a beautiful park. Decent wifi. I don't know about breakfast as I didn't attend. Would definitely stay again.

The parking is a ways from your door, which is unfortunate when you have heavy bags. The space is best for agile people because the bed and furniture are close together.

Run away from this place. It is ran by a family. They lady (mother) is very nice . But it is all a front! My Tv wasn’t working, I asked for them to fix it, but the daughter said no one is around to do “maintenance”.

Air conditioner only had low, med and high settings so you were either hot or freezing

This property is in very poor condition and is awfully dirty. Our towels were not washed and had black streaks in them. Staff was rude and the facility stunk very badly. Even for the cheaper price this property is not worth the stay by any means.

It was okay clean. It is an old motel. Condition of motel is old. Good parking. Internet connection is very spotty. Connection is slow and comes and goes. At one point we couldn't get connected at all. If you are just passing through Redding to get to somewhere, then staying at this place is okay. If you are staying in Redding for fun, I would choose another place. And if you need internet for work, I would definitely stay elsewhere.

the location was good, my room was very small, if you have a dog, good luck finding a place to walk it, i found an insect larvae in the mattress seam, i assumed bedbugs. showed the owner. checked out.

We knew there was no breakfast but there were several restaurants nearby, including Heavenly Donuts a meet 6 minutes walk away. I was also happy to find a small laundry room with coin operated machines, a necessity on a long vacation.

I stayed in room 204. It was clean. I was very careful because I saw the previous reviews. I checked the mattress and sheets for cleanliness. The carpet and chairs were pretty worn down. But other than that the facilities were fine. The only thing that irked me was the check in process was strange. There was a hand made sign asking you to call a number to be let into the office. It rang and rang with no answer. I caught someone going into a staff entrance and they had me ring an unmarked doorbell outside the office. Someone let me in then.

I didn’t like finding a condom wrapper in one of the drawers that hasn’t been cleaned out.

This room is nicer than other hotels I’ve stayed! The aesthetic is very well designed and the bed is very comfy. The staff are super nice, and they helped us find things to do in Redding.My two criticisms of this room would be that the pillows were not comfortable and the curtains weren’t blackout. Overall, we were very pleased and would gladly return to Sundial Lodge!

The room was okay. Pretty obvious the room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned (hair in the shower, fingerprints on the mirror).

We needed a hotel on our drive from Southern California to Seattle. Redding was the stopping point, but hotels were filling fast because of the Carr Fire. We often try to stay in the mom & pop places. This one was right on the road to the Carr Fire, so the area was full of firefighters. It was a good stay, and we pray for their safety as they fight this blaze.

It’s clean . The room is in need of being repainted otherwise it’s great .

Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. After being refused service at another hotel we were welcomed here.

We had a clean non-smoking room with an inside hallway and a nice view of the back neighborhood. The room had pretty hardwood floors, but no carpets. Not much about the motel is level, and be VERY careful of the beige pole if you park near the office!! You have to pay for ice at the ice machine outside near the office, unless you get a token from the office staff. The provided hair dryer works if you have both bathroom light switches turned on. The room also included a fridge, microwave, cable TV (we were able to check in early and watch the football games!), and free Wi-Fi if you ask for the password. Nice enough staff, just a very old worn building. The price was right, and it was just a place to sleep!
