Since I am Mexican-American it was nice to have a different perspective with the type of people that were vacationing at this resort. The majority of the guests were of Hispanic descent and it was a refreshing home feeling experience.

In the VIP you get to eat at their special restaurants. The food was beyter there than atcthe buffet. They lack flavor in most of their foods. The service was ok, they would sometimes forget to bring such items or drinks. Some server's were of great service especially when given a good tip. The shows were ok, and the drinks were ok too. I would give them a 6.5 out of 10. The only thing i really liked was the spa services and the kiddo pools. Both my girls loved the kid pools.

Its a nice familty hotel, the pools are ok, the service is ok, the restaurants are fine, the breakfast one is the best of all of them, the snacks are limited but enough, the speciality restaurants are fine, the japanese one and the italian one are very good. the new addition to the original hotel is FAR from the reception, the rooms are large and confortable,

The property really needs updated. I booked an oceanview room which had a refrigerator and microwave. When we arrived to the room it was already occupied. We were moved to another room that did not have an ocean view and no microwave ans no refrigerator, but charged the same. The staff was not helpful with much, very limited food options, and our room was full of mold.

They are awful. Arturo, thank you for confirming my phone was stolen and I would not see it again. That was an awful experience.

Great stay and experience. We had fun and felt safe.

The rooms (Mountains) smell like mold, the curtains are torn and the bathrooms are old, very different from the photos. The food is very local, little variety.

When we got to the hotel, it wasn't perfect. The key to the room door does not work each time you leave the room. The bathroom is cracked and ugly. There is no door or shower curtain to prevent water from escaping everywhere. The swimming pool had emesis ( greenish discharge) floating in it. The dining area is an open space concept, and birds compete with you for space and food. The flies, mosquitoes and birds were flying over the meal. The food was terrible, nothing attractive or decent enough to eat. The rice seems to be soggy and like a leftover meal. The bed is so tough that my back hurts. The bed stand was made of bricks. There is a big gap between the headrest and the mattress; your head can fall into it. The environment is filthy and old. The only good thing about the place is the staff are friendly.

The staff was helpful most of the time. Best service was in the restaurants. Make sure to Make reservation right away or you won’t be able to try any of them. It was our anniversary we thought we would be able to eat in one for it and we wouldn’t get a spot two day in advance. The WiFi didn’t work all the time. AC didn’t work in our room it was very hot the last night there. The most frustrating thing was calling maintenance to fix our toilet everyday because it wouldn’t flush. We had to walk down a floor to use the hallway bathroom. This was horrible when I have health issues and needed a bathroom. We asked to have this fixed and it was never fixed.

Staff not friendly, limited food items nothing for kids, very small property dining area is 10ft from the pool, beach extremely small and full of huge rocks making it difficult to enjoy.

All in all, it was ok. More restaurants are desperately needed. El Pescador (buffet) really needs more variety of food options. It was not good. The best restaurant was Mi Morenita for which the reservation is needed, if you are lucky to get. Activities at the pool are pretty nice.

All inclusive meals awful , terrible. Restaurant wise very poor Food quality bad. Not a single item was good. Mix drinks awful. No flavor no alcohol no taste

Resort was old, food was not appetizing at all. The buffet is open, but the food quality is not good. There’s only 3 restaurants to eat at, and you can only eat there 2 nights and that’s it and the food was trash. for an all inclusive resort, I’m used to having dinners every night. This hotel only gave me 2 dinners. There’s no bottled waters if you want something to drink you have to walk down to the lobby and get a cup. They have one water jug so you can fill up your personal water jug and the water is loop warm. Definitely will not come again.

Our room was fairly clean but was really old. The furniture needs to be updated! The elevator on the mountain side did not work so you either had to take the stairs or walk way around to get on the elevator. The front desk was not very helpful but the servers were so friendly and helpful. I probably wouldn’t stay at this property again.

Canto de sol delivered great value for money spent. It is important you not arrive expecting 5 star when you paid for 3 and later complain about it. I was very happy with the level of customer service, food options, drink options, location and beach access. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this place for an affordable way to enjoy an all inclusive experience. I would suggest placing a water filling station on the mountain side of the hotel. It was an inconvenience to always have to make a 10 minute walk to refill water bottles. Thank you Canto de soul for the great experience!

When I first arrived on this property we were greeted by “Said” who had a horrible attitude and was unknowledgeable about the properties amenities when asked . Prepare for extra long wait times as well . Room was very appealing nor did it look like the pictures. Upon arrival we attempted to make dinner reservations which was hard to get and they aren’t willing to accommodate to add you on the list after the time slots are taken or if you arrive late to your dinner reservation. Due to the number of people we had in the room and multiple beds when we asked for extra towels they seemed bothered and stated no one told them that they needed to bring more towels and they couldn’t accommodate unless we called the reception desk. Overall it was a pretty bad experience with the staff especially on lunch and dinner time most of the works seemed bothered to be at work. I would think twice about booking not worth all inclusive price .

The property itself was clean and in a fairly good state of appearance. There was some construction/remodeling going on, but overall it was good. My only complaint or issue was the food. For it being all inclusive and price we paid, the food options weren’t that great. The alcoholic drinks were ok and selection was fair, but considering the price and my experience at other hotels with similar options, the buffet/food options were below average.

Wonderful and cheerful staff around hotel. Too many stairs, elevator on mountain side not working and working elevator too small inside.

We always book at Dreams resort but are fully booked with this last minute trip. Big mistake booking here at Canto Del sol. The employees were NOT for the customers . They rushed you and didn’t do any above or beyond service. Property was okay. You get what you pay for. I would rather go to a different resort. Food at the specialty restaurants were flavorful .

My main issue was there was no alcohol in the mixed drinks that I received, except the wine of course. And the beer was not cold. And I am not a big drinker. Big difference from when I stayed at Canto del sol years ago. I would not return to this resort. Everything else was good.

All the staff were so nice and welcoming they really do make you feel at home! Everyone who works in the food area including housekeeping and entertainment were amazing!!
