Absolutely wonderful will be back close to everything yet quiet when need only small niggle would be loose floorboard in top bedroom so any movement was very loud in main bedroom

This is a lovely property in a really pleasant area which is very close to the centre of York and yet is quiet and peaceful. The property is very clean, well equipped and well presented with comfortable beds and furniture and everything is well maintained apart from a small issue with a bathroom door handle, which is the only reason for the lower rating in the condition category, We were very pleased with the provisions and treats that were left for us and the information provided is done so in a warm and welcoming way so you feel very much at home here. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely property on a very quiet street, but only a 5 minute walk from the town centre. The spec was really high, lovely plush carpets upstairs, and the bathroom and kitchen were better than at home! Lovely little gifts on arrival and nice touches, like having coffee, milk etc. We had one minor problem, resolved by text message within minutes.

The property was perfect for all our needs, kitchen was lovely and beds and baths all spacious, modern and clean. The host helped us out right after we arrived as we were inept with Skeleton keys :-). The location was fantastic, with access to the city wall at the end of the street as well as access to the old city, museums, galleries and shops a short walk over the bridge. We absolutely recommend this property and our thanks to the host for their lovely home and and lots of great information. Joanne

This pristine property was perfectly located in York, just a short walk away from so many destinations and attractions, including the wall. My 3 sisters and I, all 45+ years old, found the home welcoming and comfortable during our stay. When we return to York, we would definitely stay here again. Just a gem!!!

We chose Fairfax Street for its central location and family friendly amenities (cot/highchair, parking, etc). The house is on a quiet residential street with ample parking. On arrival the house was clean and tidy, with a thoughtful welcome hamper. The living space is large and comfortable, great for socialising, with a well equipped kitchen. The master bedroom was large, plenty of space even with a cot set up. The other two bedrooms were smaller, but fine for our needs. The location was excellent - just a short walk into the city, lots of cafes/restaurants nearby, and even a small playground at the bottom of the road which was great for our young children (1 and 4 years old). We will definitely stay again if we come back to York.

All of the simple things had been thought of like plenty of plates/cutlery, condiments, extension leads, plugs in the right place. To top it off coffee/tea, biscuits and wine provided! It was really helpful to have on street parking. Plenty of spaces however heads up that it is a bit more of a tight squeeze getting out of spaces so choose your space wisely! The only extra touches that would be nice would be a dressing table in the master beadroom and extra bedside table in the attic room. That would just be being very picky though. Thankyou so much for a lovely stay. Also thanks for cleaning so quickly meaning we could check in early. It really meant we could make more of our first day. I would also highly recommend the tomahawk restaurant for anyone that likes steak!

Parking was a bit tricky, large vehicles will struggle through the narrow streets. The owners made us feel welcome, with some treats. Will definitely stay here again.

The house is situated close to the high street near city centre. Parking is on the a very narrow street. The house was recently renovated but several things were not checked before it went up for rentals so we were the first to find the problems like bath tub plug doesn't work properly, or that the door handle to the bathroom comes off when you use it, or that the fan in the downstairs toilet fan is broken, or that the back door to the tiny patio garden was poorly fitted such that it takes a lot of effort to shut it. We were happy to ignore all of that until we were asked to leave a day early by the agency because the landlord double booked up with another family who were arriving on our second to last day. That almost ruined the trip. And then we were physically shouted at by the landlord when we last 10 minutes after the 10am checkout time. She really scared my kids that day! In all the placed I know and have been to, there is a 30-60 minute courtesy period after checkout time to allow for last minute things. There are many properties in York. I'm sure you can find another one without such problems as this one.

There was 4 adults and 2 children and plenty of room for us all. The house is beautifully maintained with many modern facilities that made our weekend away feel luxurious. The team at York Stays were helpful from the first phone call and provided us with all the information we needed. It's a quiet street but 10 minutes walk from all of the main attractions. We highly recommend 48 Fairfax Street!

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay in this delightful property. The owner had included thoughtful touches and appeared to be easily accessible, although we didn't need to contact him at all during our stay. Everything was spotless, and the property was finished to a very high spec.

We were looking for somewhere close to the centre of town with parking that would fit a Land Rover. We expected to be disappointed, but 48 Fairfax Street was perfect. Inside the city walls, residents parking available, very quiet at night. House very well looked after, no complaints at all.
