Loved the separate area for the teens downstairs. Great gentle slope to the boat dock and the fire pit was nice to relax at by the water in the evening.

Loved everything about this vacation! Beautiful view, nice deck, and the fire pit was fantastic! The house was the perfect size for our group of 8! I will stay here again!

This is a nice house in good spot on the lake. Great set up for multiple families. It is tucked away in a neat neighborhood. We used this as a base for outdoor activities, and ended up hanging out at the house more than we planned, it was so comfortable and relaxing. Would like to come back to enjoy the lake more. The host was super responsive to questions we had., and had good local advice on things to do. The bait shop just outside the neighborhood is a must stop.

The house was basically a double wide trailer set on a block foundation. It was just ok, nothing fabulous. The renovations were just ok, need to renovate the bedrooms badly. Seriously need to clean the outside. It was covered in cobwebs and spiders The dock was nice.

HEADS UP…… Went thru VRBO. Pictures of property misleading. Outside of house was filthy dirty with caked on bugs and cobwebs all over the siding, lights and windows. Looks like it had not been cleaned/power washed in years. Front yard is basically dirt and tree branches. Front porch old and full of dirt and bugs. Front porch light caked with webs and bugs. Couldn’t walk in either front or back doors without spiders and cobwebs right in your face. Layout of inside is totally weird. When entering front door you go straight into master bathroom. Make a right and there is a laundry room with no door that goes directly into kitchen. When air conditioning is on the unit is right there so it’s noisy. So called “renovations” to the home looked like they had been done by a person who didn’t know what they were doing. Large holes where curtains were once hung were visible all over. Flooring in hallway between the 2 bedrooms had open cracks and bathtub shower head is ready to fall off. Bedroom shades provide no darkness so when the sun rises it’s bright as bright can be. No sleeping in…..NO Access to downstairs level unless you walk outside and open door underneath the deck. There are no stairs on main level to get to lower level. Only way again is to walk outside. We found that annoying. Beach area is not a beach area. Somebody came in and dumped a bunch of sand on large piece of weed barrier. We saw a few cats roaming around and I’m sure they use the “beach” as a nice litter box. Junky old toys are stacked underneath the back deck. An eye sore for sure. All in all we would never rent this property again. You can tell the owners are never there. Totally overpriced for the condition that it is in.

This place was perfect for our girl getaway! The house is adorable, clean and convenient! Our favorite part was the little beach! Is was awesome to be able to walk in and out and it was just fun! The fire pit area was also a treat! (Even though it was way too hot for a fire :) Perfect vibe!

Excellent communication from owner. The home was very clean and had everything you would need. Very comfortable and homey. Home sits right on the lake with a sand beach area for kids to play. There is also a paddle boat to use. The outdoor fire pit is also nice. We had a great time And will be back again!

Thank you for the lovely week. The views were amazing. We have travelled to a lot of lakes in the Midwest & this one tops them all. Very peaceful & quiet! The beach & dock were clean and wonderful to lounge on all day and night! Bonfire area was a huge perk. We will be back!

The house is very accommodating for large families. It was very clean and the owners paid attention to detail, making it a warm and inviting place to enjoy being with family and at the same time enjoy the lake. We would choose this place again!!

Perfect landing spot for a nice golf weekend.

We had a great stay. Loved the area/neighborhood & house! Owner of the property was very responsive & helpful! I probably missed it in the description - but I thought this was like one, combined space, but the house has an upstairs & down stairs that are not connected internally - so it really is a perfect spot for traveling with 2 families. I was only traveling with my one family - 4 people from my family & one friend- and we were able to fit/stay in the upstairs part comfortably. However, jf two families wanted to vacation together - it's kind of perfect how the upstairs & downstairs are not connected internally via stairs - and have totally different points of entry & privacy. My parents had a little trouble with the mattress, as did my friend - but my husband & I slept like babies. We all had a great time & would recommend this property to anyone & everyone. My only suggestion to the owner might be investing in slightly better mattresses for those who are older or sensitive sleepers.... Great vacation in a little hidden gem of an area... Not much food or shopping very close - but great character & food in the places that are nearby! So beautiful - many hiking trails & cool things to see nearby as well! Definitely a fantastic place to stay in S. Illinois!

The property had plenty of room with four bedrooms and all of the cooking equipment that we needed. The satellite tv and the internet are both excellent.

We were looking for a waterfront rental for myself, husband and our two adult children’s families (three children under 4) for a long weekend. This house had plenty of room for us, but the things we liked the most were the outdoor amenities. Covered dock for our boat, large dock area to hang out and swim, sand area to play and gentle slope for the little ones. Our first time at Lake of Egypt and loved it. Hosts very easy to work with and answered questions.

This place worked well for us. The part of our family with young kids appreciated the separate space downstairs. When they had to get up during the night, they didn't need to feel about the noise. The boat dock was perfect for our pontoon, and we could swim and fish with the little ones off of the dock. We also caught some nice bass in the areas just across the inlet. Wonderful sunset views and we even had a rainbow one evening!

We had an awesome stay at this location. The weather was hot and the lake water was very enjoyable. The house was nice and the owners were very quick and easy to get ahold of when we needed them. We did however, feel that the outside of the house and property could of used a little TLC, but we were told before arriving that they had been going thru some renovations, so we totally understand. Would recommend to anyone looking for a house on the lake. We would definitely return. Thanks Cynthia

We absolutely loved the location on the lake!! The house had everything we needed (knowing we needed to bring towels, paper items which wasn’t abnormal). We liked the separate downstairs for those of us that wanted to stay up later! The extra fridge and oven are a MUST! Thank you!!!

Our weekend was filled with a lot of rain, but our stay was still great! Only about a 20 minute drive to tunnel hill trail, which was the main reason for our stay.

Cynthia was very helpful, and the property was nice and as described. We had a peaceful get away.

We ate in, but there is a BBQ, place dollar store and bait shop 15 min from the house. Marion was ~40 min for Walmart, etc. Nice stay, would come back for a visit!

This is a cozy house on a beautiful lake setting that is large enough to accommodate a fair sized group. We were lucky enough to time our stay to see many fall colors.

We spent 3 days and 4 nights with family from out of town. The house and accommodations were great although we were disappointed the basement is a separate apartment setting. There is not an inside stairway but it worked. The dock was great for sitting playing on. We enjoyed taking the paddle boat out several times. The sunsets were beautiful.
