We really enjoyed our stay. Very relaxing and quiet! I would point out that there is more than a few steps to the sand because you have to go around a few houses to get there. Also, if the water is low, just be aware that there is no water near the cabin. This is obviously out of the control of anyone but worth noting. This did not affect our stay in any way though, it’s a short drive to other great swim/beach areas. We look forward to a return trip in the future! Would definitely recommend to others and would stay again!

Nice little home

We had a great time at the property! The other reviews cover anything I would already say. The lake was low while we were visiting, so wish the house was closer to lake access, but that is no fault of the owner. We had a few rainy days while there, and the house was set up nice for us to play games and watch the lightning show at night from either the deck or inside the house. We found everything we needed during the stay! Thanks!

We loved the hunting/fishing decor and mounts. Well stocked kitchen. Close enough to good beaches. Enjoyed the air hockey table downstairs. Plenty of room for our group of 8. Would stay here again!

This was our second year doing an extended weekend with family. We selected this VRBO because it had more rooms and another bathroom which would accommodate our group of 6 adults and 2 kids. The kitchen is SMALL. If you want to open the fridge it blocks the little area where you wash dishes and/or cook. The fridge door does not open all the way and hits the counter making it extremely difficult to load/unload. The only shower is downstairs and the shower door is a piece of hard plastic that doesn't shut all the way; therefore water splashes out on a carpeted area. We had to find a fan to keep in the bathroom to dry out the area. There were sandburs in the carpet so we had to keep shoes on the entire time or risk getting them in our feet. There were dead insects and dust on the ledges of the windows. The grill didn't work. A lot of other little things. It was located right by the water (unfortunately, it was low this year but that's not the owner's fault) which was nice. We still had a good time but we were disappointed in this VRBO.

This is a quaint little lake cabin! The neighbors are nice and we had a great time! We would stay here again perfect for a family .

Very quiet location with plenty of space

Everything was as expected, great location, great property.

Overall we loved this place. It was great for our group. Everyone had a place to sleep and hang out. The furniture was comfortable and we liked the hunter's cabin feel. We never found the murphy bed they talked about in the description (but we didn't need it), the kitchen area is super tiny, but had everything for cooking. This may be TMI, but the commodes were very low to the ground, like what you would find in an elementary school, that was our only negative. We had some elderly people in our group that found those accommodations difficult.

My husband, a couple friends and myself spent our 13th year anniversary at the lake cabin. It was a nice relaxing weekend. We were hoping the lake was a little closer to the cabin but that's ok, the view was still really good.

We had a great time. The house was as exactly as advertised. We enjoyed the large deck looking out to the water even though the lake was very low . House was equipped with everything we needed.

This is a cool little cabin with a hunting lodge feel. The front room was my favorite room. Lots of windows with a view of the lake. We saw 2 eagles flying over the large deck. There are 4 bedrooms. 2 in basement and 2 upstairs. The kids thought the basement was scary, so they all slept upstairs. Lots of beach towels and a comfy mattress in the master bedroom. Larry, the owner, could not have been more helpful. We have rented a lot of houses and Larry was the most helpful owner I have ever rented a house from. The boat rental locations were about 15 minutes away from the house. The kids loved the air hockey. It takes a while for the stove top to heat up. Don’t worry, it does work.. The washer and dryer were great for wet beach towels. Bring extra paper toilet paper and trash bags. However, there are lots of other supplies, like coffee, napkins, cleaning supplies, etc. I thought this was the perfect, quirky and comfortable cabin at a fair price. Don’t expect a shiny, brand new, sparkling home. It’s older and I think that added to the charm. Also, the kitchen is very narrow, so difficult to maneuver if you had a big rear end. Just keeping it real people. (Smile!) my family would definitely stay here again. Also, the air hockey was fun for the kids. Thanks for the great stay Larry.

The property was as described. We had two families with eight total and had plenty of room. There were a few creepy crawlers but nothing out of the ordinary for a lake house. Upstairs microwave was out of order during our stay, but there was a backup in the basement. Lake water was low during our visit, but nothing anyone can do to control that. Great time and a solid place to stay.

There was enough comfy room for all 8 of us. It was a little more than steps from the water. It was a very good price for what it was. The lighting was dark throughout the whole cabin. The communication with the manager was very friendly and in a timely manner.

Rented this property and the house next door for a getaway with extended family. Great proximity to the beach and boat ramp.

Our family booked the property for seven days and we left after staying one night. We lost power due to a storm, but with no air conditioning and windows that don’t open and Old, broken screens that don’t keep the thousands of bugs out, we had a miserable night with terrified children. The property is filthy and there’s a train that runs by multiple times in the middle of the night blaring a horn. The beach was covered with trash, dead fish and debris. I would not recommend this property for families with children. Property was not as advertised, we will be working diligently for a refund.

Owner is very friendly and accommodating. Home is cozy and comfortable.

OMG this place was so dirty. There were cobwebs and bugs in all the windowsills. The kitchen had limited dishes and glasses and everything was dirty. The water dispenser on the fridge was disgusting. The towels were old and there was no supply of toilet paper. The neighbor had to bring some over. The shower downstairs was so cheap and old and leaked. We had to wear flip flops because the floor was so wet and gross. I suggest the owner does a super duper deep clean before renting this place out again. All the bedding. linens and towels should be replace. And please please clean those disgusting window sills.

Great location for our group with young kids! We rented a boat at Martin Bay, which was an easy 15-20 minute drive. The kids could walk down to the dock from the house to fish. Lots of fun!! Larry was great to work with, assuring we have a comfortable stay, which we did. We can’t wait to go back next year!

Perfect property for 2 small families. It has all the amenities you need and the view is INCREDIBLE. Fully recommend!

Great location

We stayed at the house for a full week and had two small families. The home has terrific views of the lake and great access to the water and beach is a short walk down the hill. The home is set up really nicely for two families with a master and kids bedroom on each level. There is also great access just down the road to a small convenience store. The owners were very responsive to our emails with info and guidance. The neighbors we kind and helpful as well. The house was a bit dated and could use a nice deep clean, but overall it was terrific. We really enjoyed our time here and would love to come back.

Very nice

This home suited our needs well for a quick weekend trip, there was room for our two small families to spread out. The view of Lake Mac was beautiful and it was just a short drive to a nearby beach. The kitchen was a bit cramped but functional. It would be great it the upstairs bathroom could have a shower head instead of just a tub. The only people in our group who used that tub were the younger kids(3 and 5 years old). The house was tidy but could use a deeper clean between tenants in the following areas: shower, dusting and kitchen.

Was a perfect home base for our two family holiday. Plenty of parking for a boat and a couple cars, and a wonderful view from the deck to enjoy with your coffee. A friendly cardinal even hung around while we were there. Wipers were biting in the lake, and the Cedar View dock was fairly close. The house has plenty of unique charm. It has a pleasant hunting cabin atmosphere, with some of the quirkiness that you'd expect in one. It would have been smart to remember coffee filters for that first morning, but we'd definitely stay again!

The pictures truly show what the home looks like. The owner was very responsive. We had a great time playing air hockey. Lots and lots of room in this home. Great views from inside and outside the home. The BBQ grill was a little difficult to get lit, however, the owner had told us that prior to our arrival. That was about the only thing I can think of that was not totally up to par. We did not use the Television. There were too many other wonderful things to do. We would definitely recommend this rental
