All the facilities is good and worth every penny. But somehow I’m muslim so i need to bring my own food and wear my hijab inside the shower room too since the shower room is not tinted, but the toilet is private.
4.1
Relaxed, comfortable, very affordable, good meals, kitchen available to prepare meals or coffee and frig to store food!
You need a car to get into Kyoto, but there are also quite a few temples and interesting places up in Utano.

There is a lot of space and the nature around it
The wifi wasn’t the best

A very nice place to stay some days and enjoy the environment
Very far away from the center of Kyoto. It depends on what you are looking for. In my case, the weather forecast said it would be raining for 3 days so I wanted a place to stay and chill. Finally it didn't rain so I wanted to go to the center all the days. It's not hard to go to the center and come back but it's very far away.
Furthermore, I definetely don't understand why they do curfew (at 23:30). It's a rule with nonsense right now and for adult people like me. So if you go out to do a night walk, you will be thinking that you have to come back. I think I wouldn't come back just for this

very nice hostel with back yard and surrounded by green mountains. very clean, nice beds, breakfast buffet, friendly staff
if you want to go to Kyoto station, it’s a bit far but taking the bus is easy and I personally loved the location of the hostel.
it’s not a place where you can meet other travelers, and least not when I was there.

The bunk bed offers pretty good privacy. Outlets, lights, etc. Reasonably comfy as well. The location is pretty far from the downtown area but I enjoyed being in the suburbs for a change.
It's certainly not a youth hostel. It mostly caters to elderly Japanese and families. (Calling this a youth hostel would be like calling a caring home a kindergarten). No atmosphere really. First night a child was throwing tantrums in the common space, not something I need when I'm trying to chill after a day of travel.
There's a shared bath and when I entered I was stared down by two Japanese men until they begrudgingly got up and left, very unpleasant experience. This place needs to be clear about what it is, calling this a youth hostel is nothing short of misleading.

A youth hostel with clean facilities and friendly staff. It is located in a quiet residential area. It is a good place for tourists who want to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing night with family or new friends. Breakfast and dinner are very good.
Although snoring from others can't be avoided, it is a part of experience of using YH, enjoy it, haha.
Location. It is not easily arrived by public transport. And it is quite far to the nearest supermarket and convenience store. But you properly may not get both convenience and quiet by a great price in a youth hostel.

Breakfast excellent. Though is a bit far, but more close to the green and local community 🙂. I like it.
Nothing.

it’s a bit far from the city center, but in really nice and calm part of the Kyoto city. From Kjoto train station take a bus (you can find connection via google maps) Hostel itself is really nice and huge complex. Enjoy amazing onsen bath in second floor.
nothing, was perfect

The place is big and looks like a university campus: the design is cool and spacious. They have a big kitchen, which I did not use, but thought it would be great for a longer stay. I enjoyed the onsen very much!
The size of the place makes it difficult to have the chance to interact with people. The location is not bad, but not the most convenient either.

Everything was perfect. Free public bath. Good noise insulation and facilities.
Location a bit far from most of the tourist attractions. But worthy. Close to arashiyama though.

Great place to stay in Kyoto! Easy to access via public transportation and so many amenities. I really enjoyed the complementary tea time, mini bonfires in the courtyard, swimming in the hammocks, and of course soaking in the public bath after a long day of exploring the area. It was great to meet fellow travelers from all over the world. Pro Tip: Don’t skip on the breakfast— you won’t leave hungry!
Although there were some snacks for purchase by the front desk, it would be nice to have a wider selection of foods as there is not a convenient store nearby.

Near the rock garden which was cool. The sento (Japanese bath) was great!
Location was a little away from everything we wanted to do. It's a 20-30 minute bus ride to the downtown area
