Hotel staff was brilliant. Location was ok. 1st room was ok until the power blew out on all the sockets. 2nd room had a nice view but very noisey been next to the lift and tv didn’t work.

Electricity in 1st room went out and nothing would work. 2nd room to close to the lift and could hear everyone in and out of talking loud and banging. Also tv didn’t work

THe hotel was fine the bed was very very uncomfortable and I ended up using a blow up mattress that I had in the car for a bed.

It was a lovely family stay, in clean rooms, and we enjoyed using the pool a lot.

Staff were great. Good location. Booked it partially for a pool swim but was full of kids so never managed so made up the exercise by a walk into York. Everything else was first class. Massive recommend.

Tired, dated bedroom which was far too hot on arrival. Lumpy pillows. Grubby bathroom where neither the extractor fan or shaver socket worked, and the loo would only flush intermittently. The whole room need modernising

The jacuzzi and steam were out of order but the staff were accommodating in regards to this. Rooms could do with slightly better sound proofing but things did quieten down after 10pm

The hotel is in a great location with a 15 minute walk into the town centre. Car park was handy. Facilities were great with very helpful staff. Breakfast was great and good value for money. The evening meal in the restaurant was fantastic.

Car park should be cheaper for guests staying in the hotel overnight. Toiletries in the bathroom were not topped up. The heating vent was noisy when trying to cool the room. Little things that would not put me off booking again.

Nice location, spa facility, some staff were nice and kind but not all. The beauty salon is good.

Bad smell, the sauna and steam room were tiny and not very clean, bathroom in the hotel room had broken shower. We booked breakfast and dinner included but it turned out dinner is limited to 25 per person, which is ok but they never said that on the booking info and when we asked about it they just told us to “raise a complaint if you want”.

The pool area is good, but we have reported the showers in the pool area 6 times now as we go regular and still nothing has been done, all we get told id the manager knows... The late checkout is great, but we can rarely get checked in early which is a shame because our situation means we have to get to York for 13.00 to 14.00 hrs we then get a bus into Yorkbut cannot check in until 10.30 pm when we return from the city.

Please see above, also it is evident the maintenance on the hotel in general is lacking, lights out, taps in the room not working properly, shower heads blocked with limescale, the small but important things really.

Loved the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Breakfast was exceptional as we had it included in the price.

Having to pay for parking as before coming I read the hotel had free parking facilities but unfortunately this is not true

Great location. 10 minutes away from centre of York. Staff were lovely too, can’t fault them.

Air conditioning/heating didn’t work in the room. Had to request portable radiators in order to keep the room warm. TV seems cheap too, it had the option to watch YouTube but it struggled to load/buffer any videos.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Had evening meal in the bar, very tasty. Breakfast the next morning was nice. Lots of variety and they will cater for dietary needs if you ask. Staff were friendly and helpful. I used the pool the next day and pre-booked myself in for a treatment at the salon before my journey home. Added bonus was the sauna and steam room, prior to going I could not see if they had them but they do. Pool area was very clean, as were the changing rooms. It is right next to the racecourse and there are some lovely walking/running routes around the hotel too. Location is handy for the city centre (although I didn't go this time, it was signposted well), the hotel is on a main bus route and I noticed a few things to do in the area.

Very good position to the central York-10-15min by bus, excellent options for the continental breakfast, sauna and swimming pool not busy at all times, quiet room and large double bed . Overall we felt welcomed and relaxed after leaving. The parking needs to be payed separately at a 7 pounds a day paybyphone fee.

Steamroom could work with a bit of refurbishment.

I've never been to a hotel where they do not service your room or even make us aware at check in that this no longer happens. You have to request if you need the room serviced. We ran out of Toilet rolls, T and coffee could have been replaced as we stayed for 3 nights and the sink drained really slowly as the plug was lift up. We did make reception aware and they told us it would be added to house keeping list for the next day. This did not happen but we bumped into the house keeper manager and she kindly had the room sorted.

Breakfast very nice but overpriced. Pool class.

We said we wanted the room cleaned daily, and didn’t get it once in 2 nights of staying there. Ran out of toilet paper. When first walking through the hallways there were just loads of used food trays and bin bags left in the halls which stunk it out, not a good first impression.

I expect my room to be serviced and tea etc to be replaced, that was not the case here. I was asked when we checked in if we wanted the rooms serviced each day and we requested this. The only thing saved by not servicing the rooms is wages for the hotel and that's a job lost.

Room was dated but maintained very well. Bed was nice and comfy. Excellent shower. Probably the best breakfast I have had in a hotel. Nice fresh ingredients and everything was hot.

Expensive rooms then had to pay for parking in the hotel grounds. Went to purchased a can of orange, the price was £3.50. Needless to say we didn't purchase and went to the garage over the road instead. We are not tight by no means but £3.50!! Even at £2.50 it would have been too much.

Alot of untruths on booking, became a very expensive couple of days away and it was a very good photographer took the photo of the pool as it was very small

Room was fairly basic. Breakfast was really good. Chef was really nice and very helpful catered for my gluten and lactose intolerances.

Pillow options would have been good and if room was serviced as we stayed for 2 nights.
