Friendly staff. With in walking distance to all the sights . And we managed to get a parking spot at back of the premises

There was nothing I didn't like about it

The proximity to York and the five minute walk to shops etc. it is possible to park around the back for £15 a day so that's a bonus in York.

My room looked tired it was very dark, I was in a room at the front facing onto the main road, and I was unable to sleep because of constant traffic noise, I cut my stay short to go home for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was very average, no wow factor at all, and the hotel did not have a lounge or good bar, which was very small and not well stocked. The hotel decor needs a facelift, it's not welcoming when you arrive. The bathroom was nice but it needs a power shower, and the seals need replacing on the shower. I don't know what housekeeping is done, but my room was not serviced, ie bins not emptied,band once I had eaten my biscuits I didn't get any more.

We got our own room on the back which was quiet and well heated. It poured it down when we were in York so we got back to our room and had a shower, then hung out clothes on the bathroom wall radiator. We then got into bed with some snacks and watched a film. It was a great night 👍

I don't think it was wheelchair accessible as there were some high steps to get out the back. This didn't affect us but something to note. There also wasn't any parking nearby available (it was the Viking festival) so we parked 25 mins away which was bad since it was pouring it down that night and we feed the parking machine.

The staff was very kind and helpfull. Hotel Is very well situated.

Superb location less than 5 minutes from Bootham Bar and the city walls (with the Minster also very close), excellent value for money ; the mews rooms around the back are very quiet (and very clean). Staff are friendly and helpful.

The bed was a little bit firm for our tastes (though that's subjective, of course), and breakfast could perhaps have used some fresh fruit.

Innkeeper and staff were all incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
