EVERYTHING!!!! Staff was WONDERFUL to us. We were greeted by name at all times, room and all facilities were impeccable. For first time visitors to Buenos Aires, this was the perfect place to start. Breakfast and all refreshments were excellent-I am confused as to how anyone would not love the selection and all beverage choices. Safe, clean, so helpful, you will be happy you chose them!

There is nothing not to love! Possibly if you like a pool to swim laps in, this one would be too small for that.

I specially feel the need to write this review, based on the over the top positive reviews that I saw on this site. I don't want to criticize them, I really don't. But I do feel the need to let people know exactly what they can expect. Because I felt mislead by all the other reviews. The hotel is priced similarly to the Four Seasons, the Hyatt and the Palace. Well, having stayed at the Four seasons a few times, I can confidently warn you that this place will disappoint you greatly if you compare the 2. I personally regretted coming here because: The rooms are very dark. The furniture dated and uncomfortable, the ONE chair by the desk needed new upholstery. The couches, were also super old and therefor awful to sit on. The bed however WAS very comfy. The wifi is not suited for work. It's OK to watch Netflix and check your email. But if you want to download something, Forget it! The bathroom has 2 sinks, which sounds nice, but it resulted very impractical. There is no room in the counter for anything. My toothbrush, my contacts, my lotion, everything had to be put somewhere else. The staff were nice, but they lack the hospitality training that luxury hotels have. My husband let the manager know that Saturday (8/20) was my birthday. The guy said OK, you got a nice room! Fine. But on my bday we didn't receive a note, or a Happy birthday or anything. I know for a fact that had we stayed at the Hilton or the 4 seasons, they would have said Happy Birthday and even send us cookies, a card, or something. The fact that he didn't make a note of this information, and he didn't bother to have a gesture leads me to believe that the "Algodon" is not up to par with the hospitality industry. We stayed here for 3 nights, and then we moved to the Hilton for the rest of our trip (5 more nights). This hotel only has 9 rooms. Maybe this is why the prices are so high. It feels like staying at a bed and breakfast.

The bathroom has no counter space. The wifi is slow. The furniture dated and uncomfortable. The staff: If you are lucky and get a "nice guy" in a "Good mood" Great! If not, you can be dealing with some unhappy front desk lady, annoyed every time you come in because she has to open the door. Ohh yes! You have to ring the bell every time you come in. The door is locked at all times.

We had a lovely stay. Helpful staff and neat hotel.

The property is located in the heart of Recoleta. It being a boutique hotel, we felt that as guests, we were well looked after, received that personal touch that one does not necessarily get when staying in a chain hotel. The exceptional staff was warm, friendly with many good suggestions to explore the city and beyond. Leonardo, Rodrigo, Sofia, Federico, Nicholas, Gisel truly made our first visit to Argentina and Buenos Aires truly memorable! It is a stunning mansion that has been converted to a luxury boutique hotel. We would highly recommend it when visiting Buenos Aires. Many thanks to Algodon Mansion… until next time!

It would have been nice if the property had an outside patio or terrace for guests to sit at and have a drink or coffee.

Well the setting is amazing...bang smack in the very best spot in Buenos Aires. The 10 suites are spectacular....huge...gorgeous...with humungus beds you never want to get out of. And so so quiet considering it is in the centre of the city. But all of this pales in comparison to Leonardo! He is sublime. Courteous, charming, genuine, couldn't do more to help us...nearly kidnapped him. Everyone should have a Leonardo in their life. (Sophia and Nicholas are fabulous too)

Sadly the rooftop pool was under reconstruction but actually so much to do in Buenos Aires that it wasn't the end of the world.

In great location, attentive staff, first class accommodation. Our second visit, this one lasted 18 days...

Pool area wasn’t clean and in need of repair. Poor water pressure in our room (room 6). Wardrobe light would not turn off at night so we had to stick a sheet over it.

Algodon Mansion is a wonderful boutique hotel created from a stately home. If you’re traveling with kids and need pools and game rooms this may not be the hotel for you. However, if you don’t need those things, the giant lobby or gift shop found in your typical Hilton or Sheraton then you’ll absolutely love this hotel. It’s like a little secret compared to the giants. Being small, the staff can really focus on the needs of each guest. They know you, your itinerary, what you like, etc. Plus, they have time to work on little things for you that really make your stay pleasant. The rooms are large, well decorated, clean and very comfortable. The bathrooms are large, clean and very functional. Your rainfall shower and jacuzzi tub will be welcome relaxations after a long day touring the city. In short, Algodon Mansion is wonderful.
