Beautiful hotel in the jungle on a lagoon and 100m from the see. Friendly staff and amazing view. We did a tour in the lagoon with the free kayaks and it was amazing ! A really good place to relax and recharge. (We went there during low season and it was amazing).

Amazing place. Staff is very friendly. In this place you can relax and forget about life. Around a hotel you can find a lot of beautiful views and animals. The location of the hotel is excellent as you have 2 min by walk to the beach where you can find restaurants. I had breakfast in the hotel, which was fresh, made by members of staff, and was really delicious. Also, you can inform staff what time you would prefer to have your breakfast. My room was clean, and I did not have any issues. I also love that they have friendly dog and own animals.

Hidden garden Tangalle is A Hidden gem, just behind the beach. the garden feels like Paradise and the family is very, very friendly and helpfull. you Can hear the waves, the birds in the tropical garden. the room is huge and very clean

everything was more than perfect!

We were planning to stay 2 days we stayed 5 days :) We didn’t want to leave. It’s a real hidden garden with full of nature and full of good people. I am working remotely and the family makes everything easy for me. The pool, rooms and everything is super clean. If we can manage to come back to Tangalle one day, we would definetly stay in Hidden Garden again. In 3 weeks trip of Sri Lanka, so far it was the best place! Thank you for everything. And Brunoooo, I love you smelly boy 💜

Hidden garden is truly a hidden gem, and is one of the best places we've stayed in Sri Lanka... We had the real privilege of staying here over Sinhalese New Year and the hospitality was second to none... They took so much time for us and really made us feel welcome. The family was incredibly kind to my 8yr old son in particular The rooms were clean and put together with wonderful shutters and doors that opened up to a nice terrace to sit. The breakfast was delicious and so so generous, fresh fruits, eggs, toast and hoppers, as well as roti and daal We will definitely be back

Very peaceful oasis with super kind owners. The garden and areal is grown about many years with love and effort and it’s the perfect place to relax, watch some birds, enjoy the pool and the great breakfast (and they even have free kayaks for a tour through the mangroves)

Great Accommodation with a beautiful garden and a amazing pool. The rooms a spacious and clean. The staff is super friendly and helped us with everything. They offer a very good breakfast for about 3€. The accommodation is just a few meters from the beach and there are many restaurants and a small supermarket nearby. We had a great time at the Hidden Garden and we definitely would come back again.

Wonderful and relaxing hotel with delicious local breakfast! This is just perfect hotel to relax and unwind. You can take a swim in the pool or attend daily yoga class organised in the property. Literally one minute walk to the beach. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

I had an amazing time at Hidden Garden. The place itself, its owner, the location with the beautiful view and at the mangroves where you can rent a kajak for free. The owner were very kind and hospitable.would recommend staying there!

beautiful! felt like a top resort. everyone was kind and gracious, everything was nice and clean, the pool was gorgeous. my room and bathroom were lovely and I loved having the balcony overlooking the pool. lots of great restaurants (try Kokomos and Ananas!) just a short walk away on the beach. the Sri Lankan breakfasts here at the resort were amazing and plentiful!!

We enjoyed our stay so much. The family hosting is super welcoming. The garden and the pool are absolutely stunning and very well taken care of. We also loved the breakfast. They can let you kayaks to discover the lagoon

We stayed for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. It's such a beautiful spot and the host was lovely. Also, Bruno (the dog) was a cutie. The pool is so lovely and the beach (2 mins walk away) is amazing. Close by to some really great spots to eat too.

The place has got a terrific garden, and it's peaceful like an oasis. I liked the seating at the terrace with view over the swimming pool. The bed was super comfortable and although there were open airholes above windows, the room and bathroom were exceptionally clean and the place was quiet. Breakfast was also very tasty and the owners were kind and helpful.

Before coming I chose the accomodation based on its location, reviews and possiblity to have dinner. Therefore I was quite surprised when I found out at the arrival that the owners don't offer dinners after the main season (I came on 7 - 9 April) although there were quite a lot of guests in the hotel, and as it was one of the things that I particularly looked for. Therefore I was forced to dine outside. Normally it would be ok as there are a lot of restaurants in the closest vicinty. However, as the country nowadays suffers from everyday powercuts mostly from later afternoon to the late evening (appr. 17 - 21), and as it gets dark quite soon, I didn't feel very comfortable going out on my own to dine by myself when it was dark everywhere as well as in the restaurants although they were open. It's not a big deal for guests who are in a couple or a group. For a lone (girl) traveller, it might be a thing to give it a thought, though.

Everything! The hosting family is helpful and friendly, the room is big with a nice balcony to relax on and the pool is heavenly. The location was also what we were looking for : within 1 minute walking from the beach but tucked away a bit so nice and quite. Couldn’t wish for anything more! We planned to stay two nights but eventually stayed 4 and needed to pull ourselves away 😅

Loved our stay at the Hidden Garden, fabulous family run business, the grounds were decorated with lights when we arrived quite late after travelling from the airport, I knew straight away this was somewhere special. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful. Stunning garden & pool, great fresh food, lovely early morning kayak exploration of the lagoon, they even organised a great driver for the next leg of our trip. Magical hideaway, only 2 mins from the mighty Indian Ocean, just wish we could have stayed longer xx

The perfect ending of my beautiful Sri Lanka trip. This hotel is just absolutely gorgeous; starting from the family who owns is; always up for a nice chat, helpful and super friendly! Their property is huge, well maintained and has the wild part of the lagoon just right out the back. Here you can cruise with kayaks for free as much as you like. The rooms are new, with a mosquito net, nice shower and a ventilator; no AC just yet. But I was totally fine with that! Beautiful pool; probably one of the best I’ve had in whole Sri Lanka. Nilanthes wife cooks the nicest food and I had every day the Sri Lankan breakfast. I booked 4 nights, stayed 6; I just loved this place! 100m right to the beach. Nice little family owned restaurants just on the beach where you can grab lunch / dinner. Thank you guys for the lovely time! I will definitely come back! :) Cheers

We absolutely loved our week here. The garden setting is gorgeous with hundreds of lush tropical plants, and the pool was so clean and a lovely addition to the beautiful nearby beach. The home-cooked breakfasts were amazing! We had Sri Lankan breakfasts every day; especially loved the hoppers and all the delicious dhals. It was so nice to be able to kayak on the lagoon whenever we wanted. We slept really well on the super comfy mattress. Last but not least, the family who own and run this place were just lovely - so kind and always on hand if we needed something. We'd definitely go back.
