This apartment has been very well thought out and beautifully furnished. There was everything you could think of provided to make your stay cosy and comfortable and it was spotless. The location is great, just a short walk to the main attractions of York. The hot tub was perfect for winding down after a day walking around the city. We had the electric trip one morning and couldn't locate the trip switches. We called the agency and straight away they got us up and running again! We would definitely recommend staying here. Only criticisms I would make, is that we felt the hot tub had an odd smell to it after a few uses. I did speak to the agency after our stay and mentioned it as I wondered if it needed some attention, however, they assured me that it was regularly checked and cleaned after each stay etc (it did look clean..it was just a strange smell when the pump was activated.) They did also say that had we mentioned it during our stay they would have sent someone out straight away to look at it. So maybe if any one else experiences this make sure you contact the agency straight away. Another slightly negative point which isn't mentioned in the property listing is that directly above the property is what we think may be student accomodation. Not a massive problem, it's just that you do hear the odd alarm clock first thing in the morning and people walking up and down the stairs and furniture being moved...sounds you expect to hear in a hotel. Apart from this the property is very peaceful especially considering you're so close to the city and on a main road.

Location handy and near restaurant/take away/bars/city centre. Apartment quite nice Delighted didn't have to buy/bring essentials (cleaning/tea/coffee/salt/pepper) Games were nice touch. Pleased toweling robes for hot tub.

Location on main road (don't recall being mentioned) Bed sqeaky, extremely annoying. (Albiet comfortable enough) Hot water limited and unable to locate where the boiler/heater was. No terrestrial TV (not critical, but would have been nice to have). Not sure how clean water in hot tub was(!?)

The location was perfect - very convenient for Micklegate cafes etc and my favourite end of York. Car park so nearby - no stress(apart from when my tired husband insisted we park right under the traffic lights- and camera - to check it out when we arrived. Hope there will be no repercussions from that! Loved the hot tub - a great way for my son and his two friends to chill out before graduation day and departure to different destinations. So grateful you let us have the upstairs flat for the overspill person’s one night. He was much impressed by the special treatment! And I had a great session in the hot tub too when all the fuss was over….

Despite warnings about reading full instructions before using the spa, we could find no such information. No joining instructions at all apart from the Wi-Fi code, for which, our thanks.So we had to wing it. I sincerely hope there was no negative outcome. It seemed alright when we left.

Holgate Hideaway was very clean, well appointed and stylish. Its location was perfect for visiting York city centre. Completely dog-friendly. The facilities included a spacious bathroom and beautiful kitchen with everything we needed. The hot tub was a lovely bonus. We were so impressed when the hot tub developed a fault, the owner arrived quickly and replaced it. Thanks so much.

No parking facilities on site and had to pay a fee to use a local carpark. The property is on busy road near traffic lights. We could not find any tea towels

The location. Lovely little gem. Very cosy and cute. Very clean. Lovely bathroom. Daughter and husband loved the shower. Beds were soft and cosy. Everything you need in the kitchen. Shops just round the corner. Nice walk into the attractions. The dungeons are a must. Everything you could possibly want

The only minor negative was no shaving point for husband. A dressing gown would be nice for when you get put of the hot tub in the cold weather. Didnt want to use the bath towels. We did bring a couple extra towels
