It was my first ever stay in hostel and I'm very happy how it went. Would definitely come back to Tamaran when next time in Las Palmas. Just to list few things: Helpful and dedicated staff, Group activities arranged daily, Lots of open-minded guests Rooftop terrace where you can eat looking at and listening to the ocean, Location just by Playa de las Canteras, Multiple grocery stores and restaurants nearby.

La amabilidad del personal al llegar. Muy buena ubicación y justo al lado de la playa. Había buen ambiente en el alojamiento. Pudimos usar la nevera y las zonas comunes estaban muy limpias y la terraza era preciosa.

I had one of the best hostel experiences in my life. The location was exceptional, 10 meters to beachfront. The hostel was excellently run by the manager. Everything was very clean and super organized. You could reach the manager at any time of the day and he was always very competent in helping you with all your needs. Due to the great effort of the manager and the volunteers, there is a great atmosphere in the hostel. You get to know many new people and cook together in the evening and go out together. I will come back 100%

I stayed for 2 weeks and felt home from the first moment. Lovely people, great rooms with comfortable beds and amazing location next to the sea! There are also a lot of group activities to get to know other guest. I would definitely book it again :)

The room was super nice and clean with nice comfortable wood beds & an own beautiful bathroom. The volunteers organised some activities and a family Sunday pancake brunch, which was truly amazing! I can highly recommend this place! <3

Staff was amazing, everybody was helpful and friendly, location very convenient and quiet. You can see Playa de Las Canteras from the rooftop. They have plenty of activities and games to play with. Everything excellent, I recommend it.

Nice hostel with friendly staff. Each bed has its own curtain which is good in a dorm and there was a socket right next to the bed. A locker big enough for a backpack in the room, equipped kitchen and a rooftop to chill on :)

The downstairs bathroom was missing a rack/chair to put cloth/toilet bag, the room I was in was right next to the street and it was pretty noisy throughout the night. Maybe rooms on the higher floors are calmer...

Cleanliness might be improved - dust and sand on floors in a room and common areas. Would be good to have more space to put things in the room, like hooks, chairs etc.

The comradery, the location, the easygoingness and the fact that they allow pets.

The volunteers are the ones that give character to the hostel and the whole experience! I am going to miss the chats and the laughs <3. They were fun and helpful, they should be selected carefully to keep the harmony in the hostel. The kitchen was big and fully equipped, a nice system with food boxes. Location amazing. I would stay again at Tamaran, in a different room with private bathroom! ;)

I was in a dorm with a shared bathroom in the corridor. Small improvement can be done in the whole property, starting with deep cleaning of certain corners of the room and the common areas where dust was cumulated a lot. Some pots were so old that they were leaving their own material in the water while cooking. Consider offering free tea like the free coffee for breakfast (do not rely on the ones left from other guests). Perhaps have more than one hairdryer in the property. In my room there were 4 extra lockers which were never removed as promised by the owners, occupying unnecessary space and covering power sockets. A bit difficult to hang clothes/towels for dry in the room, I had to buy my own racket. The couches in the living room were a bit uncomfortable, especially when wanting to rest the neck/head on them. The hall was a big mess when I arrived, I saw only one volunteer actively tidying it up one day. In general the cleaning was done regularly but depending on the volunteer sometimes the result was not great (e.g. saw cleaning the kitchen surface with the same sponges that were supposed for cleaning the pots). Hot water was missing regularly in the late afternoon, have you considered installing a second/bigger boiler or so?

Great staff, lockers in all rooms, curtains by the beds, we had a private toilet in our 4 bed dorm, the location is unbeatable, super cozy roof terrace, not a party hostel so it’s quiet and easy to sleep.

The kitchen is a little small but it works out if you’re just a tiny bit flexible with your meal times

The volunteer staff were really nice and the house has a social atmosphere.

My room unfortunately had bed bugs and another girl and I were bitten. They cleaned the room afterwards but I heard it is a recurring problem.

Location was good and had a balcony. Liked the midday check-out time.

No flyscreens so was eaten alive by mosquitoes :(

It was very noisy and can be warm. If I open the window, the noise from downstairs is louder so its between not being able to sleep cus of the noise or the humidity.

Great atmosphere, great area, beach almost im front of the door. Awesome single rooms! Nice volunteers and organized activities. Highly recommended!

The activities could be organized a little bit better with the other hostel(s).. ;D
