Really nice hotel, very big rooms for Shanghai, the rooms are very clean and especially the bathroom was also very clean, 1 shower and 1 bathtub next a plenty of space. The staff was very firendly and helpful, but because a little out of the big streets I ahd to wait quite long for a Taxi in the morning. Breakfast was also okay , you get everything you need.

Perfect, the hotel was quite far from the metro station as expected and i was struggling with foot pain but it was fine, I was totally ready to pay for didi rides. Swimming pool was clean, we were basically 3 in the morning, water was not too cold. I also received great advices from the lifeguard. The gym looked decent too. The hotel was clean and the bed was very good. I could hear door slams sometimes but it was not noisy, overall.

We booked a trip back in 2018 to Shanghai with my family and family in law. Due to personal issues, we were stuck in Shanghai and had to stay in this hotel for almost a month. The hotel team tried their best to accommodate us, ESPECIALLY the general manager Kai Patry. He did helped a lot. A yell out for Mr.Kai Patry!
As for the conditions and cleanness of the hotel, I have to say that for a germaphobe like me, I was even happy with this hotel.
Guys, this is part of the luxury collection and previously the St. Regis, you can't find something matching this for the same price.

Service at the breakfast restaurant and porter is terrible. The porter wouldn’t even help with calling a taxi and wanted me to go outside the road to hail a taxi where I was with my wife and toddler. Weather was 4 degC.

No one clean up my room and exchange the towels on the third day of my stay, I have to asked for it after returned hotel in midnight.

The hotel was excellent for our short visit to Shanghai. It was close to the university/hospital for work-related activities, and near areas of interest for shopping and sites via taxi (which the hotel staff helped to arrange, and provided an address card for the return). One night with access to the Executive Floor was worth the extra cost since it included excellent food and wine for dinner.

I went with family (we had 3 rooms which included breakfast, 2x per room) I repeatedly tried to give them the other room numbers but the restaurant front insisted it was okay and to just go on in. Of course they charged them all to one room which was aggravating and took a while to correct at check-out. Some of the facilities are nice, others are really showing wear and tear, the gym area especially.

Service was hit or miss. The porters were great and the concierge desk was very helpful at times. The hotel itself could be better. The bed was really hard. The room smelled musty, the bathroom shower had tons of mold/mildew (see photos). We were staying a couple nights and requested they clean/bleach the shower to get rid of the mildew, but it was there the entire 4 night stay. Other common areas on the fitness level also had mold/mildew.

This hotel was the absolute BEST ever. The food...INCREDIBLE. The decoration, accoutrements, people were all beyond compare. My family has already stated we will be staying at the Hongta anytime we are visiting our daughter at NYU Shanghai.

This hotel is very affordable for a 5 star hotel. Staff speak English and very helpful. We only eat breakfast there but lunch & dinner at the surrounding restaurants approx 2 -5mins walk from the lobby. (Across road ). Free Wifi Internet but Facebook and all Google services are restricted. I VPN out while I was there to post on Facebook, they got on and blocked by VPN connection as well. Lol. Taxi available outside the lobby. Love the hotel and stuff. Thank you for a great experience from my wife and I.

I was surprised at the low price as compared to its high rating. I figured the price was based on its a little inconvenient location. I would say the best location for a hotel in Shanghai is at the either side of the Huangpu river. Fortunately, the fares for taxi ride to the famous sites are not that expensive yet and there are always taxi cabs waiting outside the hotel.

The room is spacious, clean, and nice. The services are great. Very happy with the stay. The only negative is the breakfast is a bit pricey. I did not eat there for lunch or dinner.
