Hotel does not react to emails/whatsapp/phone calls. Tried at least 10 times, no reply at all ! Booked a Executive club room but the club was closed. At any point were we notified about this prior to our arrival but we did pay for it. To compensate we received a voucher for a free drink with very limited choice. Could not choose sparkling water for example. Rooms are outdated and need urgent refurbishing. Mold in the sink, sockets do not work, dirty carpet, noisy airco, windows do not open….we were put next to a room where construction was going on. The smell of paint and tarnish was awful ! Wrote an email to the head of quality guest experience and strategic development…..guess what….no reply again ! This is my worst experience with Accor ever ! Not at all the standards of a Sofitel and definitely NOT a 5 star hotel ! Avoid this hotel if you can…..

We arrived 4 hours before check in and we were given a room within a few mins with no fuss. Room was a suite - perfect for our family of 4.
Room had everything we needed, free complimentary minibar which was refuelled daily.
Room service and cleaning was on point and the reception staff whenever required fulfilled all requests.
Breakfast was brilliant with plenty of selection and amazing views of the mosque of the prophet from one side.
Location is the best thing - literally on the courtyard of the mosque with amenities and shops available in all directions.
Would I reccomend? 1000% would i stay again? 1000000% !!!

Renovation going on at the moment but still one of the best hotels I've stayed in medina.

Food was excellent as was location. Waiters were mixed some good some not so good. Often long wait for cutlery or drinks. The rooms were not as clean as they could be and we had cooking smells in our suite from the restaurant. No plugs by bed for my medical equipment. The rooms are look a bit old and worn.

Over all it was par experience. Highlighted issues to the management hopefully they’ll fix it for future guests. As I was there for only 2 days didn’t wanted to make a big deal out of it.

The hotel is located yards away from the Masjid which is incredible. The staff and service were good. Good selection of food options (breakfast and dinner) as we went for half board. However, the property is in a bad state and cleanliness was very poor. During our 2nd night the whole curtains railing fell down, however this was promptly fixed. Basic amenities like shower gel and lotions were empty, towels limited, floors creaking and housekeeping looked like they just did up the bed. Very busy and noisy hotel.

The hotel excelled in everything. However, management should note that their clients come from all over the world. They need to ensure the hotel has the flexibility to accommodate early arrivals, even if they arrive before the check-in time.

Loved my stay at Sofitel.. got a Junior Suite and was perfect.. the room was a bit smaller then i expected.. but overall the service was good.. it was clean.. the breakfast was amazing.

Everything was beyond 10/10.
All staff were friendly, helpful and very decent.
Housekeeping, concierge and restaurant staff were always smiling and always keen to help.
Check in and check out were very smooth thanks to the reception.
Breakfast buffet had a variety of cuisines and food, everything was fresh, we didn’t try anything that we didn’t like.
Proximity to the King Fahd gate and also ladies prayer entrance was very convenient.
Also Taiba shopping center and a bunch of stores all around that makes the location perfect.
Insha’Allah we would stay there again and again.

It is the best experience so far with any hotel. Sofitel raises the bar for what excellence in service looks like. From the time you walk in till the time you leave. The staff is amazing always with a smile.
Their buffet breakfast, lunch, or dinner are worth trying. plenty of options for hot or cold and sweets just not only look amazing but taste great.
The floor staff was amazing. and surprisingly anyone you talk with knows exactly what you are looking for and how to respond.
The best thing is it's just steps away from the Masjid.
I would love to come back and stay a little longer

Excellent hotel right next to Haram (perfect center), we got the king suite for our family of 5 and loved every bit. We had half board, dinner options were excellent, breakfast was just ok but overall great hospitality and convenience. We’d love to stay there again.
