The hotel is perfectly located just metres from the Shambles. Our first floor room was quite despite being near the lobby. However, the room and the bathroom were small, with no hooks for towels, and a large chair made the space feel cramped.
Scaffolding outside ruined the view, though there was no noise.
On the bright side, breakfast was excellent and the staff were fantastic - friendly and attentive.
A great stay overall, but some small improvements would make it even better.

Very pleasant stay. All staff were very friendly and efficient, esp the girl who checked us in… couldn’t have been more plant and helpful. Ideal location in centre of York.

Really enjoyed our stay - staff all very friendly and helpful. Relaxed but lively vibe. Only downside - we had lunch & dinner at the hotel & both times the food took ages to come, with long gaps between each person’s food arriving at the table. Apart from that, it’s one of the nicest places we’ve stayed.

Super soft comfy beds, very warm welcome with a free cocktail each. Very clean everywhere. Room was beautifully decorated for our birthdays which was such a lovely touch. Fun vibrant atmosphere in the lobby/bar area.
Breakfast was delicious! A brilliant variety.
Only thing I left a little disappointed with was that because the hotel is pet friendly, we had a nice view during breakfast of a dog being dragged through the lobby with a trail of diarrhea behind it. Staff cleared it very quickly, and obviously wasnt a fault of the hotel, but as a non pet owner, with a sensitive stomach, it tainted our last morning a little.

This was a lovely hotel, friendly, helpful staff. Nice complimentary gin punch! Pleasant foyer. Room fine for a night, although bit small for longer - no wardrobe or drawers, no chair. But this didn’t bother us for a night.

Great location, right near the heart of the city. Just a few minutes walk from the Shambles and the Christmas market, close to public transport links.
The room was very clean and modern, though the lack of clothes storage and places to hang more than one towel was a little frustrating.
Overall a great hotel.

Nice hotel in a really good location. Room was clean and nice. Only thing was the room was very hot even though the window had been left open when we arrived. The aircon was turned out because of the time of year. It was uncomfortable at night and didn’t sleep well at all. Had to open the window which didn’t make much difference and was then quite noisy. Shame because it’s a lovely hotel but I wouldn’t stay again because of the room being too hot.

Excellent location. Bit noisy late saturday night when dome groups came back from a night out but then it went very quiet.

Hotel is great. Unfortunately for whatever reason the room was unbelievably hot. Averaging 26 degrees, even with the heating turned off and also the window being open. The air conditioning option was not available either because it's winter. This really means sleeping was difficult.

We had a really nice stay here in this hotel the location is brilliant. The breakfast isn't great but due to location we had breakfast one morning and then ate out the other mornings as there are so many options nearby.

This is the 2nd visit to the Moxy. Love the hotel, breakfast was scrumptious. The only niggles I had was1. No iron .

3. Not enough milk to have a decent cup of coffee and sweetener was not replaced after being used from the day before. Loved the hotel and the staff are lovely, always polite and helpful. Ideal location and just loved the chilled vibe we both got from there. Will visit again and stay in this hotel. Just try and amend what we listed.

The staff was very welcoming when we arrived. Nice clean rooms and very quiet. Liked the black out curtains. Close to the major attractions in York. Would stay again.

Great stay…fairly basic but very comfortable and relaxed…perfect for families and children. Staff excellent. Breakfast very good.

A super greeting and easy booking in system. A great vibe was around the hotel. In walking distance to all of Yorks attractions and nightlife. Breakfast had a great selection and variety, which ensured you were fuelled for any walking. Small gym room but held enough for a work out.

However, no fridge in room, and shower drain didn’t work / was blocked so bathroom flooded every time you took a shower.

Very good, slightly run down in bathroom. Floor light under bed very strange and disturbing. Couldn’t see controls. Overall very good stay.

Fabulous hotel. The staff make you feel so welcome and are a real credit to the hotel. The atmosphere is really relaxed, you feel like you want to hang out there. Bar food was fabulous and the location was perfect. Would definitely stay again.

The Moxy chain offer the best overall value hotel in the UK. Prices are reasonable, facilities are modern, staff are always helpful. Rooms have everything you need. I can't think of anythign not to like.

Great location and staff very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfy and the sensor light under the bed was great idea when going to the loo in the dark. Bathroom compact but clean and modern with shampoo/shower gel. Only downside was lack of storage/shelves etc but ok if only visiting for a night or 2. Would definitely book again.

Property quirky but very good. Only problem was the arrangement for parking at the parking garage some way away at extra cost.
