No lift, no help with luggage. Attic room on the street side. I suspect that Expedia users get the least desirable rooms. Location is excellent.

We had a very enjoyable 1 night stay here. We arrived and luckily managed to get the last car parking space, were quickly checked in and everything was good with our room, other than half the lights on the mirror not working and a few cracked tiles but nothing major. The curtains did let quite a lot of light through in the morning but as we were up early anyway this didn't really bother us. Breakfast was good, there was a buffet with juices, fruit, cereals, yoghurt, toast and pastries then you get to order cooked items as well, very reasonably priced breakfast and everything was nice.

We have stayed in this hotel several times and it has been consistently good. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is always good, with several options. The secure on-site parking is a bonus.

Hotel is in a great location with only a 5 minute walk into town. Room was spacious and has all the facilities that you need. Staff were very friendly and the service was great. The section of the hotel we were in is old fashioned but we liked that bit. Overall a great place to stay for two nights.

We stayed for 2 nights for my birthday and had a very nice room with a view over the Minster which was lovely. Room was on the 3rd floor and there is no lift so make sure you take all you need!
The bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast was very good and the staff super helpful and friendly.
The hotel is 5 minutes from the city walk

Good experience, clean hotel, friendly staff, secure parking for £10 a day or free if you book directly on the hotel's website instead. Only problem we had which was no fault of the actual hotel was that we were on the top floor(room 12) which is 55 steep steps to get to, so would recommend contacting the hotel if you have an6 mobility issues to request a lower floor room. Hotel also does not have air con so summer months if the weather is good is very warm.

The room, an economy-double, was just right for the two of us. Clean, the bed was nice and comfortable and the bathroom/shower was modern and really nice.
The breakfast was great, a proper traditionally run restaurant, lots of efficient staff who do their jobs professionally. All highly recommended. Plus of course the great location, with parking, limited spaces first come first served, but there are lots of spaces.

Very friendly staff.Good breakfasts.Quite.Husband left his wedding ring in room when we left and didnt realise.Staff phoned to let us know they had found it before we left York so that we could return to collect it.Wouldnt hesitate to book this hotel on our next visit to York.

The property was located conveniently to Old York. The staff was friendly and the room was large and comfortable.

Paid £322 for two nights, unfortunately the room we had was very poor, cobwebs hanging from ceiling and in corners of the room, Sticky substance on Bedside cabinet, furniture all worn and room just generally looked run down and dirty. The double bed was the smallest I had ever encountered. The bathroom was a improvement on the bedroom as was the breakfast, but our room didn't resemble anything like what is shown on the website so we were very disappointed.
I will say the staff are super friendly and helpful but the property really was lacking

The room was at the top of the house the room was dirty bugs on the curtains bed and furniture absolutely filthy the only thing that were spot on were the staff stuart was an asset to the family ran business

We often take short breaks and have been to York several times. Good points of this hotel are the location, secure parking and the fact there is nothing I can fault! We stayed in room 42 which was separate to the main hotel beside the car park. It is spacious and exceptionally clean with a bright and airy bathroom with lovely big bath and separate shower. We will definitely recomend this hotel and will stay here again. Hosts lovely, friendly and welcoming.

The property is on 3 floors without a lift. The top floor is a long way on narrow staircases for older people.
