The young woman who welcomed me to the Inn couldn't have been more pleasant, professional, and helpful; she was a delight.

Excellent room, loved the jacuzzi tub and separate double head walk in shower. Excellent king sized bed and room. Great breakfast, wish it time frame was longer than 1.5 hours. Only gave 4/5 stars for area around property due to train horn during sleeping time, though the tracks were blocks away.

Charming Inn with comfortable beds and rooms for lounging. Wine and cheese in the evening plus warm cookies on our doorknob when we returned from dinner. And an excellent breakfast. A perfect experience!

A cool spot that was very clean. Toni at the front desk was extremely helpful, and the cookies each day were amazing. It's more like a bed and breakfast type place, without amenities like a pool or gym, but would definitely stay there again

The staff are generally lovely, but sometimes overwhelmed. The main building is lovely but the “Bell House” gets less attention and maintanance, so you really have to advocate for yourself if you stay there. Breakfast is quite nice as are the cookies at night!

Inn at 835 was great they were so kind and helpful. We originally were suppose to stay at another hotel that ended up severely overbooking. Inn and 835 was wonderful!

A Charming and enjoyable place. Convenient to downtown Springfield, IL, walkable. Service by the staff was outstanding. The Happy Hour, cookies and a hot breakfast which was included was a nice touch. A couple of problems though, we could not get the tv to work and the lighting in the bathroom was not very good. All in all a very nice experience.

The building is lovely. The staff is great. The bed was comfortable. However, there were paint chips in a couple places, and there were dried drips down one of the bathroom walls. The vent fan in the bathroom was rusty. The bathroom door didn’t shut tightly. Noticeable details that could easily be attended to.

The 835 boutique was just as advertised, very clean nice neighborhood, comfortable bed, very good breakfast and a friendly staff, you can't go wrong with this place.

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was close to all of the sights and attractions in Springfield and the service was very good. We loved the historic building and the feeling of staying in a hotel early 1900’s apartment complex. It comes with all of the quirks that one would expect of an older building including some shared noise from the hallways, creaky floors and keys jingling into doors but other than that, we were very happy. For us, this didn’t deter from the charm of the space and we really enjoyed the comfort of the bed. All around, very nice experience

I stay at lots of different hotels and this hotel may have been the coolest little unique hotels that I have ever stayed at. The owners have done a great job preserving the features of the Designs of the Times of 1909. The whole feel takes you back to that time. Mia was very thorough explaining all of the little ins and outs of the property. If I ever get back to Springfield, I know where I will stay. I should also add that there is a plenty of lit sidewalks from the hotel to the capital buildings and to the little store around the corner. The architecture in the area is beautiful and there was not any riff raff hanging on the sidewalks.

The common/1st floor areas were beautiful. Staff was amazingly helpful & friendly.
The Poppy room was shabby: wrinkled sheers, mismatched drapes that didn't close all the way letting in the parking lot light, filthy carpets, mold on tub jets & shower curtain, thick dust in crevices of doors & baseboards, need more grab bars in tub, apple found under bed, air conditioner was loud, pipe in closet was dripping, outlet by bed was broken, lots of chipped paint (lead?!)

Everything about this Inn is wonderful. But I must say, I have never experienced a better staff then here. Thanks for a wonderful stay. So much better than a big hotel!

My stay at this hotel was the first stop during a 3 week vacation. I've purposely waited to write my review after my vacation so I could compare the breakfasts at the Inn at 835 Boutique Hotel to all of the other "Included Breakfasts" that I had during my vacation.
The breakfast at this property were, BY FAR, the best included breakfast during my entire vacation. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning meal at this Hotel. My compliments to the Chef.
One of these days, I'll be back to the Inn at 835 Boutique Hotel for another enjoyable stay.

Very nice boutique hotel with lots of charm! The bed was very comfortable with quality linens. The jacuzzi tub in the Lily room was a plus! Breakfasts were good too and the staff was very friendly. Delicious chocolate chip cookies on arrival! The neighborhood has seen better days and if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs because the trains roll through early in the morning. A great place to stay if you are doing all things Lincoln in Springfield. Also beware that the porches are shared by two rooms. It worked out for us as we had it to ourselves in the evenings, but the people in the room next door used it in the mornings.

The location was close to the Dana Thomas home and the historical areas - though, because of very high temps, I opted to drive and park in the municipal lot. (also easy) Tree-lined sidewalks a big help.
The only concern I had was pedestrian traffic to a building that seemed to share the same parking lot. As a woman traveling alone, I stayed aware. Concerns might be unfounded, but would've been good to know.

I very much liked the service, gardens and the amenities. I feel like the room could use some fresh paint, new carpet and better locks. But overall would stay again as long as no fireworks were being shot off again.

This gorgeous historic site features lovely antiques around every corner, mixed with modern amenities and comforts. Freshly baked cookies in a basket hung on my door when I returned after dining out! The air conditioning ensured a cool stay, in spite of 95 degree heat outside. A very special retreat!

A classical old place to stay that was very clean.
Excellent parking and easy entry. Awesome jacuzzi bathtub and built in elevator a great advantage. The one suggestion I have is more counter space near small sink in the bathroom (in the "Hyacinth" room).

This place was absolutely gorgeous. I was so surprised by the shape it was still in. The lady that checked us in. Was lovely and very knowledgeable. I felt so safe that they kept the main entrance locked at all times and you had to use a key to get in. Our breakfast was wonderful. They made it fresh when you get there and was included in the room price. Very close to everything touristy. We will be back for sure
