Wonderful place to stay reasonably priced for easy walking access to the main centre (close to Micklegate) and shopping.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is very spacious and they have everything I need. I loved the common areas as it’s very cozy and comfortable. Dorms are clean and neat. Met some new friends here and I would come back if I were to visit York again. Highly recommended!

My 2nights stay in Astor while in York was amazing. Its just 15-20min walk from citycenter, and everything you need is avail there like bar, common kitchen and lounge. The bfast for 3£ was really good, you can have whatever you like. I stayed in 4bedroom female, on my 1st night we were only 3 and my last night I got to own the whole room. And it was clean. You just need to share the room and amenities with others but the price is just right if youre looking for a budget hostel or a trip with a tight budget and if its ok with you sharing with others. And you can meet other guests staying there, they are friendly and the staffs as well. You cant really have privacy inside the room since its sharing but good thing my roomates were nice. There's also some noise from other room late at night so be sure to have earplugs. Overall, my stay there was awesome!

Lovely place to stay with some great amenities. The short walk to the centre of york made it perfect for exploring the sites. The staff were lovely and gave us super recommendations for things to see. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Kitchen is not 24 hours open. Property is too far and when you come late ..they will not let you use the kitchen. Terrible

Stayed with a friend. Paid £5 for parking my car. I stayed in a clean single en-suite room. Clean sheets and a towel. It even had a tv. The room was on the top floor and had a lovely cosy appearance. Private shower and toilet. Toilet had minor issue with the flush button but nothing mayor.

Didnt have high hopes cause of the fact its a hostel. But it was clean, comfy, staff were lovely, room was nice. Would defiantly book again. Only issue is the ensuite is on the smaller side but that didnt affect me to much

Glad it was only one night. Staff were helpful and friendly but room was very tired, small and basic. Clean but very shabby furnishings.

Staff are very accommodating. this is a hostel but we were two families with teenagers and had a great time. Nice environment.

Stayed here with my family and what a great introduction to hosteling. Very cool vibe, nice outdoor space and they let the kids choose Spiderman for movie night. Staff was super cool and friendly. Not too far from the City Centre or the train station. We had two bunkbeds and a private bath.

Arrived near midnight after a delayed train and still received a very warm and friendly welcome! The 4 bed female dorm was compact and clean with a comfy bed, and a clean bathroom. I enjoyed a free coffee in the well stocked kitchen and pretty dining area, and received tourist advice at reception too. The whole place looked cosy and inviting, and I’ll definitely stay here again! Plus it is only a 10-15min walk to the main city centre so it’s ideal!plus I felt safe travelling as a single female which is always a plus.

Very agreeable staff. Very clean and excellent self catering kitchen and dining room. Excellent central quiet location. Obviously dormitory sleeping has it’s draw backs but all quests very quiet and thoughtful. Great chance to chat with people from all over the world.

Think there should be more Socket Plug in the room. As I can remember, in all the hostels I've ever been around the world, there would always be at least one plug(or USB) near each bed and a small reading light. Also please remember to bring your own hair drier, there's none in the room. The kitchen is large, however I'd suggest implementing a vent fan in the kitchen. There're free coffee and tea in the kitchen. Also the beds are very solid which means when you climb up the bed you won't make much noise and wake up others.

Excellent accommodation if you are looking for somewhere to stay on a budget. A 10-15 walk from the train station and York city centre and also on the main bus route.

Nice private room in the hostel, well placed a 20-30 min walk into York, on site parking very helpful. Not a 5* hotel, but bathroom recently done, clean and comfortable, everything we needed. Staff were very friendly, and gave us a tour when we arrived. Lots of shared amenities downstairs for socialising if that’s your sort of thing. No noise from other guests heard in the room, could hear the road a little, but very easy to tune out if you’re used to it. Would happily stay again, thank you!

Stayed for the weekend to go and explore York’s weekend markets. 10 minute walk to the shops and found a fantastic Indian restaurant on Friday night. Quick cab into town after a nice hot shower on Saturday. Long day and back to rest for the night. Room was a good size, bed was ok. Only 2 down points - 1 lights were taped constantly on for the bathroom so at night you got the halo of hell. The other was the windows rattling like a swing gate due to the high winds. But staff were lovely, the radiator was toastie warm, I’d go back again

Relaxed placed. Team was welcoming & helpful. Double room was clean and good space. However, public areas need a bit more care and airing, some lick of paint would be also welcoming for whole property. Windows are in need either double glazing or fixing them up as they were rattling whole night.
