The hotel is old and there's not much they can do about certain things except a total renovation. It is as clean as it can be and the beds are always comfortable and the amenities are great so I will continue to stay here. The shower drain is a little slow but the fridge is a nice size and keeps things cold. It is fun to go on the beach and watch the cruise ships go by and with mini golf tennis and many more activities including a fantastic pool, this resort will not disappoint. Just do not take a taxi cab from the airport as they tend to overcharge. We have only eaten at the bar next to the pool and the pizza and sandwiches are good and the employees there are very friendly.

Mostly felt like they were looking to minimize guest interaction. I know its hard to hire these days, but they need some real hospitality coaching. None of the 7 families that i saw checking in got an apology or any sort of consideration for waiting...some of us for hours, and no one got stressed or mean to staff, so youd think theyd show some love!

Love the old character of the property. Friendly staff. Good food! A few too many children for my liking but easy enough to ignore. Great architecture! Super comfy beds!

Grand and beautiful property with plenty of family friendly activities. The staff was friendly. Fran and Ramon were exceptional. The only downside is you have to uber everywhere because it is not easily accessible to downtown.

The manager was particularly kind, personally apologizing and going above and beyond by offering breakfast as a gesture for the inconvenience. The staff’s quick response and excellent customer service really made a difference in my stay. I appreciate the manager’s attention to detail and willingness to make things right. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would stay here again.

Property staff was amazing. Property still has old-school charm, but definitely needs some updating in the rooms. Maybe take the old carpets out and put new flooring. Also, the balcony is very crowded with lots of chairs, including a long chair that does not fit on it well so you can not walk around easily

I’ve stayed here a few times with my husband. We love the pools, the beach, and not needing to leave the property. They have almost everything and there is not need to leave. On one side of the adult pool is a server; however the 2 days we were at the pool she never crossed to the south side of the pool. Our main disappointment was the bed in room 434. It was terrible. You can clearly see it is worn out and sinking in the middle. My hubby and I woke up each morning with back pain. The pull out couch was too small for us so that wasn’t an option. Our meals and drinks were good. Staff is friendly. The spa staff are also very friendly and I enjoyed my massage from Fernando. We’ll be back but we won’t be sleeping on that mattress again.

Like usual, the Lago Mar does not disappoint! The beach is the best around. We have stayed here many times in the past and it is great to see the familiar faces around the resort. The pool is amazing and we had two wonderful rooms with amazing views. We can’t choose anywhere else to visit when we are planning our vacation.
