Beautiful property snd rooms are very spacious and comfortable. It has all the modern amenities while retaining the old school charm of such an old building. We loved the wood burning fire place in the room as well. Breakfast was really good and staff at breakfast place was very friendly and courteous and service was top notch. Afternoon high tea was also amazing. Property has a beautiful courtyard and several charming cottages and suites. Highly recommend staying here for Ooty visit

During our stay at the Savoy in Ooty, we were endlessly impressed with the level of service by all staff from the gardeners to the managers who were attentive and nothing was ever too much trouble. The hotel is immaculate with rooms that reflect the heritage of the property while providing clean, well maintained and modern aspects that you want when travelling. The gardens are stunning and peaceful. The dining room provides superb food at reasonable prices. When Executive Chef, Emon Mukherjee, realised I wanted something simple, he made me the most perfect prawn and vegetable main course. The staff were brilliantly managed, with nothing being too much of a problem and with staff that remembered our room number, even when we couldn't! A special mention to Santosh, who not only remembered our room number but also what we ordered each time. When a sudden problem occurred with our original room, the staff and management couldn't have been quicker or more helpful in rectifying the situation efficiently and effectively. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and its exemplary staff.

The taj is a very old traditional hotel with nice rooms with log fires if you get cold. In this covid period there is limited food but then the breakfast must improve as to not have proper coffee in a 5 star is not acceptable. the quality of breakfast does not meet 5star. The staff are very good but a bit slow sometimes for serving drinks and food.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Savoy run by the Taj. The service was excellent from all staff, and the food really delicious. The cool weather made our sojourn there all the more memorable, especially the time spent before the fireplace in the room.

Everything is fine except for the fact that the hotel charges the guest the amount in indian rupees for the agreed amount, then gives a lower conversion value (example the usd to inr is $71 and the hotel’s rate is $67). Guests are unknowingly paying 5% more. There is no option on the credit card machine to change the transaction currency. It took 3 trips to the reception, meeting withe the general nanager snd 4 hrs to resolve the issue. This is a business model that these hotels are using to cheat unkowing customers.

Lovely hotel in Ooty. Hotel has been recently refurbished and the room was very nice. Lovely furnishings, comfy bed, spacious.
Food was excellent and service was very attentive and friendly.
I would definitely stay there again.

For the price- a whopping $150 a night- one would expect pretty good conditions. Indian luxury hotels have ridiculous service charges (GST). The rooms are old and tired, but spacious - but not worth the price for India. Couldn't get me a working iron after 3 tries and waiting nearly 90 minutes- made for a bad start of my morning. The one thing they have going for them is service - polite and respectful. The open air lounging area is nice. drinks are so-so. The breakfast buffet is fantastic.

Taj Savoy is an old British property with 19th century style lawns and rooms yet well maintained by the management and staff. Special mention of Mr Ansari and Ms Sharmila who were excellent with their guest services. Had a good time exploring Ooty with this place as our stay base.

Excellant service and staff. This even beats JW Marriott service experience. Just too good. All staff members are so well trained and nice that you feel like going back there just for that.

Property is very old and now proper maintenance is required. I had two bedroom suite and room were so small and unplanned. It was not good experience of a suite.

Overall the services are good, especially from well trained staff. The WiFi speed is less than desired. For international hotel, this need to be improved.
