The Cloran was a lovely historic home. Paul was very accommodating and the breakfast was great. This was our first stay at a B&B so we were a little nervous about privacy. After we got settled, enjoyed Galena, and returned to the outdoor fire it was like we were visiting with friends and family. Highly recommend the stay.

The breakfast's that were served the 2 mornings we were there were absolutely incredible. The property was very well kept and Paul the owner was absolutely top notch! Would definitely stay there if we go back.

This was the first time we stayed in a Bed & Breakfast and it was perfect. It was so cozy and charming, it was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and different everyday. We will definitely stay again!

Absolutely perfect weekend getaway spot for romance! My partner and I wanted to celebrate our first anniversary in Galena and a friend recommended the Cloran to us. What can I say? It was absolutely wonderful! Paul was the perfect host. He was communicative and welcoming when we arrived. He told us a brief history about John’s room where we would be staying and let us know he was available for any need we had. The room was beautiful and clean and the towels were so soft! The bed was very comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was big enough for two with room to spare! The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and he even incorporated some local fare into the meal and we went out and purchased the preserves and fruit butters that we’d tried. The grounds were spacious and parking was easy. We plan to make a return trip to Galena and will be staying at the Cloran and recommending it to everyone! Thank you Paul!!

Our stay at the Cloran Manion was pleasant and comfortable. The room was clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great. We stayed there for two day for our anniversary and we enjoyed it very much. Will come back again in the future.

We had a very enjoyable four-night stay. Paul was a gracious and accommodating host, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were excellent. We highly recommend.

We went to Cloran Mansion to celebrate my husband's 76th birthday. The mansion was fabulous. It is beautifully decorated with antiques and other interesting decor. You really can see the stars from Anna's room jacuzzi. There also is a fireplace and a hanging lamp that opens like a flower. So cool.The owner, Paul, was our host who met us at the front door. He told us about the restaurants. We loved Fried Green Tomatoes. Great food. After dinner, he showed us all the amenities - coffee, tea, water, sodas and more than a 100 CDs. We wish we could have stayed longer than a night. Love the Cloran in Galena!

The house was very nice and the service, food and cleanliness top notch. The location was farther from downtown Galena than I had hoped, however, and also (through no fault of the owner) the construction across the street and the cornfields in back did not make for a very picturesque location.
