this is my first opinion of any hotel/ motel. we stayed there for the indoor swimming pool however the water was dirty, with flock of hairs floating on the surface. the area around the pool was dirty as the water itself. do NOT recommend. the restaurant served us a burned burger.

The breakfast was ok. It was fast and readily available because we were heading out on the road but needed more choices. The selection of fruit was good.

There could have been more variety. Some pastries would have been great since some people don't eat eggs. It just seemed to be a little lacking in choices for the price of the room.

Breakfast was somewhat limited but we don't eat as much as we used to.

Shutters (relatively) recently appears to have renovated their facade and lobby, which makes it far more welcoming and upscale-looking than other properties in the Elko area. The lobby restaurant was pleasant and the food was good with a kind and accommodating staff.

The rooms, unfortunately, do not appear to have been renovated. They were about what you expect given the nature of the facility (hotel off the freeway), with some noted wear including concerning water damage (potentially mold) in the bathroom. They offered a rollaway bed at our request, which was very uncomfortable and rickety. The beds were generally small for a family (two double beds rather than queen or kings). These things might not have stood out, however when you compare the updated facade and lobby to the rooms, it is very noticeable.

It feels like home and the staff feel like friends. I love your facility and the location is great with it being right off the freeway. Prices are comparable if not better than the average. Now days....that is a bonus to find.

I didn't find anything that I would change. The lobby is bright and cheerful and is a welcome site when traveling.

Internet speed too slow. It was 1.5 mbs at early night.

The room we were in was loud, had no view. We were given a room above a machine/mechanical room that made the room felt vibrating. The toilet seemed like to overflow every time you flash the toilet.
