The house was perfect! Well equipped, cosy and spotlessly clean. Spacious rooms and very close to town. Will highly recommend to friends and hope to be back soon!

Easy parking, then forget car and take pleasurable walk into city centre via the river pathway … stress free! The property is extremely well presented and meets all you needs as a family. The owner is quick to communicate and happy to oblige in any information prior to your visit. We’ve used this property twice in 2022 and I hope that we can return in the near future.

Lovely stay at Cornerhouse this weekend for my partners 30th birthday - everyone who stayed couldn’t recommend it enough! The location was nice and quiet but within walking distance of the city centre, which was ideal for us. The house itself was very spacious and perfect for the 6 of us who stayed. We were also very impressed with how well equipped the house was, even down to the little touches. Jo was also very helpful and accommodating from start to finish, and was always willing to answer any questions we had. We would recommend Cornerhouse to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in York!

Wonderful accommodation and excellent communication from Jo who was extremely helpful. The house is in an excellent location with easy parking and I can’t think of anything that wasn’t available in the accommodation to make any stay perfect. If we visit York again I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else and would recommend to friends.

Second time we have stayed in this property. This time for 3 nights. Pleased to find all rooms and common areas clean and well maintained. The kitchen and bathrooms all modern and easy to use. A pleasant 15 min walk into York along the river and Aldi and Sainsbury local just a few mins walk from the house. The owner communicates promptly and Well. We would definitely stay at the Cornerhouse again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cornerhouse. From the pub around the corner, to the sandwich shops practically next door, to the close by grocery stores, the river walks to downtown (like 20 minutes), bus access, etc. etc. It was a perfect location. The house came with all of the amenities and was a perfect home base!

A lovely well furnished house, perfect for a family weekend break in York. It was easily accessible by foot along the river and by bus front he train station. Fabulous

Four adults of my family stayed here over Christmas while visiting my daughter and it certainly did not disappoint. There were thoughtful touches all around the house, from the Christmas decorations in the lounge and kitchen and the tea/coffee (inlcuding a really good supply of Nespresso pods!), fresh milk and Betty's cookies waiting for us when we arrived to the supplies of dishwasher/ washing machine tablets and ample toilet rolls! There were plenty towels and tea towels. Everything seemed to be aimed at ensuring a comfortable and stress free stay. The beds were very comfortable, and the en-suite, although small, had a really good sized shower. There was a good supply of games/puzzles/ books for all ages along with a good internet connection and a really nice TV in the lounge with Netflix. Parking was really easy in the quiet street outside and there was no trouble parking for guests either. When my older daughter and her Dad with his family visited on boxing day we even discovered the kitchen table extended to seat everyone for a board game. We wandered into the centre of York on boxing day - an easy 20 minute walk and we were in the Shambles. Overall a really lovely stay - A big thank you to the owners for their care and attention to detail with this property.

House well equipped, clean, tidy, beds really comfy, location brilliant, 15 min walk along the riverbank to the centre of York. Jo was helpful and quick in communications during booking process, had no need to contact during stay as everything was as described

Tasteful decor, personal welcome from owner, who was unfazed by my late arrival due to lack of info at Leeds bus station. River walk and kitchen exceeded my expectations.

We found the The Cornerhouse to be comfortable and well-equipped, as described. It is a pleasure to stay in accommodation that is properly overseen and well-managed by attentive owners. The out-building was very useful for storing our pushchair and we particularly appreciated the well:equipped kitchen, the quality beds and the comfortable sitting room furniture. An excellent base for a trip to York.

Great location and very well equipped. Parking was a problem and I had not realized the kitchen was in the basement. I may have missed that information but it came as a surprise and could have been a problem. Everything else was good

Property was as expected after viewing photos and reading information. Easy to walk into the city and a short taxi ride £9.00 to the races. Uber taxi back from town after a night out was £4.50. Everything great about the cornerhouse except abit of a funky smell in the downstairs toilet (but I think that's because it's in the basement) and we arrived at night so was dark and a struggle to see the keypad and the keyhole without a torch! Plenty of pubs, food outlets and supermarkets very close by, loved exploring the area and the people of York are so very friendly, we were welcomed with open arms. Definitely will visit the city again.

We’ve been renting houses in York for about ten years as a base to go racing for four days as we live around three hours away. This was the nicest and definitely the cleanest house we’ve ever stayed in. The communication with the host was also the best we’ve ever experienced. The little touches were also way above and beyond the normal. Five stars from the time we booked until the time we sadly had to leave, HEAVEN!

Spacious and ideal for a family get together

We enjoyed our week in August staying at the corner house. Perfect for exploring York with an enjoyable riverside walk to town. The house was spacious clean and welcoming and well fitted out with modern appliances in a pleasant quiet neighbourhood. Thank you Jo!

Staying in this house gave us the chance to meet up with family from Scotland we've not seen for 18 months due to Covid. We felt at home and comfortable straight away and settled in to catch up. The house is perfectly situated for walking into town with lots of places to eat and drink nearby. We had lovely long weekend and would recommend the house to anyone.

We stayed here for a break away after a bad year. The house was spotless with everything you need in it. A lovely walk into york along the river which took no more than 15 minutes. I would recommend anybody that wants to stay in york but not too close to the centre this is perfect. Would 100% stay here again if I needed too.

The property is very well presented and had plenty of space for the 6 of us, Jo has thought of everything plenty of games for the family to play together in the evening and it is just a short walk by the river into the centre, would recommend for families.

We stayed at the corner house for a week and couldn’t of asked for a better place, so clean, spacious, very well equipped, everything you would need for a super stay. Very well situated for a lovely walk into the city, shop and pubs nearby. One of the best places we’ve stayed in.
