The hosts, Val and Hugh, are very welcoming, hospitable and helpful. The bedroom and bathroom are a good size, and there is a small private sitting room: this and the bathroom are shared with another double room. The house is very well appointed. There are beautiful sea views from the main living area and it is handy for the Bays and the northern motorway, but quiet.

I like to have a kettle in the room, but I was welcome to use the main kitchen.

Lovely hosts, large area to use privately, 2-3 bedrooms. Great bathroom and shower. Good views from the house. About 5 mins drive to pubs/ restaurants.

This was our second stay and it was even better than the first. Val and Hugh are terrific hosts, it’s like visiting family only better!. They are so warm and welcoming and the location is stunning. We had to hunker down during Cyclone Gabrielle and I felt very safe and blessed to be in their lovely home.

The weather, but Hugh kindly took us down to the store to get provisions so we made the best of it. The picture windows allowed us to see the cyclone roll in and a boat that lost its mooring was saved by the locals. All very exciting.

Breakfast was delicious and great value. Outstanding friendly helpful hosts. Home away from home. Magnificent views in a stunning part of NZ.
