The room was small, which I had expected from the booking information, but comfortable. The breakfast which was included was good. I had dinner which was good but a bit expensive.
Everything was OK

Lovely room, very clean and well kept hotel. Staff all very pleasant helpful and polite. Had a super curry at Saffron within the hotel and a very good breakfast - the food was excellent on both occasions although we felt the price was a little on the high side.
Nothing I can think of - it really was a lovely stay. Little tweak maybe - the toilet seat was a little old, no toilet brush and the toilet handle was faulty and needed replacing, otherwise nothing to report.

The pillows were rather thin despite having 2

Breakfast was fab and the staff were friendly.
I also REALLY appreciated the member of staff who pointed is the direction of a nearby pathway we were looking for.
We know the hotel (we've visited Stone regularly over the years and we've stayed here on many occasions), the room have been redecorated and furnished very nicely ... well done
The initial welcome wasn't that great.
I think my wife and I were taken aback by the £50 taken at check in.
It just the best first gesture by the hotel and it wasn't handled well (we thought)
(we were left thinking .... "what kind of guests stay here ??")
3.5
It was comfortable, friendly and good value for money.

Old world with a modern twist
Nothing it was perfect for our taste

There was no key to my room and I didn’t feel safe.
2.5
Staff were helpful. and building decor was nice.Didn't eat there but prices looked reasonable
Plenty of car parking space
Room7 had noise outside all night
.Complained and night manager found me another room which was better.but in Room 16 the shower mixer didn't work and the water nearly scalded me.Got it to work by turning hot water tap in the sink on full.Hardly bespoke!!!

I stayed in a cozy double room which was clean and quiet, bed was comfy. The breakfast was good and dinner was superb, cooked fresh by what must be a very good chef, the staff were very friendly and it was nice to use the gym and sauna.
4.5
Shower was a challenge. Couldn't get the temperature right.
3.5
Restaurant was really nice. I had a cooked breakfast which was about average standard. Rooms and bar area were nice. The location was further from Stafford than I initially wanted but actually worked out fine.
Some staining on the bathroom mirror looked to be there a while (room 16). Floors were very squeaky in the room and corridor outside.
3.5
There was a mix up on the date of the reservation. Basically the booking was made for a time that it would have been impossible to actually checkin. They chose to not acknowledge this ...

Excellent service with friendly staff who went out of their way to make everything special. Spacious clean room and lovely freshly cooked breakfast made a very pleasant change from lukewarm buffets. A great stay highly recommend.

Room clean, four poster bed very comfortable, bathroom with a shower over the bath so a choice of either. The room overlooked the garden. The staff very pleasant and helpful.
All good

Room was comfy after a very long drive.
No lift and left to carry / climb 3 lots of stairs with all our bags and no offers from any members off staff who watched me and my 7 year old struggle.
Food / room service wasn’t what we ordered and we were still charged full price plus the fee. Continental breakfast for my daughter was poor, no pastries or fruit. Hardly any cereal. Just toast and yoghurt plus fruit juice or water. Very poor. Again, charged full price £23.90 for the two of us!
Swimming Pool - Only small, too many guests and swimming lessons therefore no room or space to be able to swim. The main reason for booking our stay was so she could swim.
Staff very rude. My daughter left the bath and shower gel from the room in the leisure changing rooms. They charged me £20 for this as they are not to be taken out of the room.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. My room was comfortable and clean. I paid extra for an excellent breakfast and enjoyed a good bar meal.
Without a car, it was less accessible than I had hoped, with a dual carriageway to cross to get to the town or the closest bus stop - not really their fault! Eating out of the hotel was not an easy option.

Good value for money hotel. Food good. Dining room pleasant. Staff friendly and responsive.
History of the house seemed to be unknown. No written information and staff did not know.
It was difficult to fathom how to switch between 2 showers provide in room’s wetroom.
Wet room floor in room ended up awash. Staff responded quickly to mop it up.
4.0
good gluten free breakfast
low water pressure and struggled to get hot water
