This was a great place to relax and recharge from our downhill excursion at Massanutten.

The house was quaint and comfortable. The rooms were a nice size and it had a great kitchen. The outside area was cute too, but the grill definitely needed a good cleaning & the hot tub seemed like it needed an upgrade for a 10/10 listed property. It was a good central location to lots of things in the Shenandoah area. The lack of TV was a bit odd—I didn’t even notice it in the pictures because there was a cabinet, which I assumed housed a TV. It was my fault, but still…We booked during the Olympics and really missed being able to enjoy/watch those during our down time. It was a great place to bring a dog and a family, though, if you are looking to get away from it all.

Was the perfect place to stay with family. The best part was the fire pit and hot tub. No tv was what my family needed and we didn't know it. I would absolutely stay again

We had a wonderful time celebrating my 30th birthday here. Upon arrival we instantly noted the cleanliness of the property! The fresh coffee beans were a huge plus and the s’mores gift basket was wonderful. The location was perfect as everything we wanted/needed was within 30min. Property owner was very communicative and check in and out was a breeze. All said and done it was a perfect vacation. PS. The mountaintop ranch sunset horseback ride is an absolutely amazing experience

I really appreciate the host working with me on dates and times of arrival. It made our stay so much more smooth. The house was so cute and nice and clean. We loved the smores package the host left for us. The hot tub was a hit as well. It was very close to all the Massenutten resort activities, which made it so convenient. I would love to come back in the future!

Such a cute stay with wonderful amenities! The kids loved hanging out in the hot tub while the adults enjoyed a drink by the fire. Property was very clean and well maintained. Rhonda, the host, was very helpful with any and all questions. I appreciated the laundry area as we hiked and wanted clean clothes for the next leg of our trip. Thank you!

Perfect weekend getaway! It was a pleasant change to unplug from TV, internet, etc. We played games all weekend, sat around a fire, made s’mores, wonderful!!!!
Will definitely be back

This was a beautiful and cozy rental property! I was very impressed with the cleanliness, and how everything was very thoughtfully put together!
She has all of the basic spices for cooking, there are over 20 of them! Including cooking oil, all of the pots and pans and dishes that you would need. There was already filtered water in the fridge for us, and she left marshmallow sticks and all of the yummy fixings for s'mores!
The kids loved the tree swing, the hot tub, the board games, and the toys.
The property is tucked away in a beautiful wooded area, and you can see the mountains from the driveway!
My husband and I loved staying here so much that we will be returning next year to visit again!

Great little place to stay. We missed the comment about unplugging from the TV as we didnt realize that there was no TV nor Internet until we got there. Luckily there was good cell reception as i did need to take a work meeting.
Once that was over, we did unplug and had a good time. The restaurant recommendations were a nice touch too.

This little house is a great option if you want something a bit secluded, but not too far from restaurants, stores etc in McGaheysville and Elkton. Also convenient to recreation opportunities of the SNP and Shenandoah River. Well kept property and nice amenities - would definitely consider coming back.

Where to begin. Arrival was easy peasy. Walk in & beautiful & immaculate, Just like the pictures, better even! We were provided with anything you could imagine! Cooking wise, no need to eat take out or restaurants every night. Fully stocked kitchen. We all fell in love with the home away from home. Even on a rainy day when we were inside we found plenty to do with the games & activities provided. Rhonda supplied us with our first round of s’mores. Beautiful backyard with hot tub, fire pit, & tree swing. It literally felt like home, and perfectly tucked away for privacy. Rhonda was quick to reply for questions. It was sad to leave, checkout was easy. We will definitely book again in the future. Thanks Rhonda!

We recently spent two nights with our grandchildren and had a great time. The house had everything promised & more. Very clean & kitchen had everything we needed for making favorite breakfasts & we enjoyed grilling in the evenings. We all enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub and the swing was a big hit with the younger kids. Very quiet & wonderful way to enjoy family time without TV & devices. Great value for price. Would be great Fall getaway with autumn colors & cool evenings to sit around an outdoor fire.

Hillside Hideaway truly is a hidden gem! It was the perfect place for rest and relaxation after hiking in Shenandoah. The location is peaceful and quiet, with a beautiful back deck and hot tub for sore muscles. Inside is cozy, clean, and comfortable; a home away from home. My daughter and I loved our stay!

The house and overall stay was amazing. We came for a long girls weekend and all said we’d like to come back with our families! The house was very clean but we spent most of our time when we weren’t hiking on the front porch or utilizing the backyard. Such a great time!

Beautiful property that was fully equipped with everything you could need. Hot tub was a great perk after long days of hiking, as well the beautiful outdoor area with fire pit and hanging lights.

This was our second stay at the property and we very much enjoyed our stay - easy access to hiking in the park and great amenities at the house.

This spot was perfect for our family, we were in town for our daughter's graduation from JMU. Rhonda has the house stocked with essentials, plus some nice extras like smore's supplies for an evening around the fire pit. It was an easy commute back and forth to the University; I wish we could've stayed longer to take advantage of the close proximity to Shenandoah National Park as well as the breweries and other activities in the area. Rhonda, if you ever rent out a beach house, please let me know. You are an excellent VRBO host!

Rhonda is awesome! She worked with us on our timeline and the property was immaculate. It offered us a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle for a few days. So relaxing!

This home was tucked away giving us all the privacy we needed. The home looks exactly like the pictures. We were a little disappointed about no TV or wifi but the home is packed with so many fun things to do inside and outside that we didn't miss the TV or wifi one bit. The property manager answered when we called or texted us. Can't wait to go back money well spent.

This house is absolutely perfect for a getaway. The fact that linens were included was a huge bonus for us! The attention to detail (basic kitchen necessities, board games and cute s’mores set up) made the trip that much more enjoyable for us. When contacted Rhonda responded quickly! We enjoyed our Thanksgiving at Hillside Hideaway and hope to be back soon!

I would absolutely recommend this adorable house, it is decorated so cute, so cozy and so clean! We came for the weekend for parents weekend at JMU and it was just a short 30 minute drive, the only thing I would suggest is taking your time once you turn down to go to house as it’s very dark and easy to pass the street. The house is well equipped and met all our needs, definitely would stay again! Rhonda was also great to communicate with

We stayed here with our children and two grandchildren (ages 1 and 3) and used the cottage as a home base to explore Shenandoah National Park. The house was clean, the layout was great to visit and play with the grandkids, and things we forgot to bring were found in the kitchen cabinets. We used the fire ring and introduced the three-year-old to s'mores for the first time. Our host was very responsive to any questions or needs that we had, and we had no trouble with anything. Thanks to Rhonda for helping us make some wonderful memories here!
