Comfortable home with close beach access and amazing deck! Highly recommend!
10.0 / 10.0
First, this house is ideally located less than 10 minutes walk to downtown Manzanita, and just across the street from the beach. The house was perfectly for our family of 5 plus two dogs. Comfy beds, little authentic charms like antique wood planing tools, and modern touches. My daughter’s name is **** and it felt extra magical that the quilt over her bed was tagged made by ****. We truly loved this house - gorgeous sunsets, sea breeze, high off the street, and towels/sheets provided for the dogs. We will definitely be back.

We stayed for 5 days, the home has a view of the ocean and a beautiful deck. Our kids could walk across the street to access the beach and very pet friendly. Would 100% stay again!
8.0 / 10.0
We loved the house, deck etc. Some very nice amenities. You should be advised the photo of the stairs is not to beach access but to the front door. People with ANY mobility issues should avoid this place. We rented off season, but there is a chance that song the parking is considered on a public street, you could lose your spot if you leave.
We did love the location, set up of the house and most everything about the house. We probably wouldn't rent again (2 knee surgeries) but would suggest others to do so.

Overall, lovely space and would consider renting again. Size perfect (2 beds, 2 baths). Views and large deck great. Clean, with comfortable beds and cozy comforter that kept us warm in unheated main bedroom. Heated bath floors were very welcome. Bath towels tired and scratchy from repeated bleaching.
The unit can use some maintenance: fireplace would not work, and customer service couldn’t get anyone to fix during our stay. Slider door very hard to open/close for one person. Also, we had difficulty even entering the unit as the key code did not work. Little stressful after drive. Customer service was able to direct us to a lockbox w/physical key and we got inside within ~15 mins of arrival.
Should note that the stairs up from street parking (~20) are uneven and tricky: might be a barrier to some guests, and it’s not easy getting luggage/cooler up/down them.
Also noteworthy: there’s no recycling or compost options. So we packed out our recyclables and compost to properly dispose of at home. Just couldn’t bring ourselves to put bottles or cans in the trash.
The across-the-street beach access was awesome. And our dogs quickly got familiar with #6 path when returning from walks.
WiFi was OK. Could probably WFH for a bit here.

Beach access was right across the street and even with the windows closed we could hear the crashing waves at night. In addition to the beach, the playground was walking distance for kids. Kitchen was well stocked for a rental.

We loved our stay here. Very convenient flat walk out to the beach and 1/2 mile walk to town/restaurants. Beds very comfortable. Wireless internet/TV situation needs an upgrade.

We thoroughly enjoyed this cottage on the coast. It had everything my kids (two teens) and I needed to enjoy a relaxing spring break together. The house was perfectly clean and everything in it was nice -- including the games and cards that were there for our enjoyment. It's right across the road from public beach access, and a very short walk to town. Hope to come again soon!

Nice location near town that allowed us to stay with our 2 dogs.

We arrived & there was no power or heat. The iced stairway (only access) to the house was so bad my parents & son couldn't walk them to even see the house. I called immediately & no one called back. We had to get a hotel room & called the next day & again, no return call. No one cleared the stairs & we never stayed. We were never notified of the outting so we could choose to stay home, so we drove in trecherous snow & ice to get there. It cost us gas, a hotel room, loss of food, & they wouldn't issue any refund. No one ever called or even followed up to let us know what we were supposed to do since we couldn't stay in the house. My family flew in from Michigan & are in their 70s & we were expected to stay all weekend with no power and no heat. It was 20 degrees. These owners should be ashamed of themselves.

The house was great and just as advertised. Short walk to beach and wonderful sunsets off the deck. Looking forward to coming back in the summer!

Brynmarie is a good house with a great view. Time for the house to get a few updates and repairs. Two of 3 couches need replacing. The sliding door is leaking and the handle coming loose. The vacuum and broom need to be replaced. It would be nice to be able to tidy up during our stay. That said, the bathrooms are updated. The gas fireplace was cozy. The house is very comfortable. Deck is great. Take note that there is no dedicated parking. There is a strip in front of the house but it is not dedicated. And, there is quite a staircase to get up to the house. Not for anyone with disabilities.

Beach access across the street. Short walk to town. Lovely places with all the supplies you will need. Some of the dishes and blankets could have been cleaner but otherwise great

We've stayed in Brynmarie several times. We know the upsides and the downsides. The view and deck are amazing. Nice furniture but could use a dining table on the deck. New gas grill was great. Right across the street from the beach. It's dog friendly.

The house is comfortable and in a nice location (quiet, close to the beach, close to town). It could use some maintenance attention (burned out bulbs in kitchen and living room, dirty water in the track of the sliding glass door inside the house, dryer lint filter was full of dog hair and lint, washing machine smells like mildew and doesn't seem to actually use the liquid soap pods that are provided... the pod was still sitting in the dispenser after the cycle was over which makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the towels and bedding ).
My interaction with the property management company (Vacasa) was horrible. Nobody responded to a question I submitted 3 days before our trip, despite my follow up. When we arrived (4 adults) there was one tiny bar of soap in one bathroom and none in the other bathroom. The centralized Vacasa support staff was completely ineffective and the issue was only resolved after I discovered a local Vacasa office and visited it in person (kudos to Roxanne who actually cared and responded quickly. The centralized Vacasa support had not yet contacted her from the previous day).
Overall we enjoyed our stay. I hope the owners will check on the maintenance items to keep their home in shape. I will avoid any properties managed by Vacasa in the future due to their ineffective centralized support.

We loved the location of this rental house. it was an easy walk to town and the beach is right across the street. The house had a nice ocean view from the deck and we enjoyed watching the kite surfers in the late afternoon and the sunsets. The living room was spacious enough for 4 people and 2 small dogs and we enjoyed the gas fireplace. The beds were comfortable and we were happy to have a washer and dryer in the house. We had two concerns. WARNING: The gas stove has controls that are on the front of the outside of the stove rather than on top. The microwave is high above the stove so if you are under 52'like I am, it is a far reach. I brushed against the controls twice and accidentally turned on the gas which we didn't realize until we smelled it. Management, please consider safety covers for the knobs or at least put up a warning sign. There is small side yard for the dogs but it is open is open to the back. We were aware of this from previous reviews and brought a foldable gate which worked well.

This home is located a good walk from the town's center, Laneda Ave, and is across the street from the beach. Your view of the beach is mostly obstructed by the houses across the street which are actually on the beach. Still, it's a good location. However, the house itself, especially for the cost, is in dire need of updating. Most of the flooring is the peel-and-stick single plastic floor tiles that are peeling up at the edges and the seams are not tight. The bedrooms are nice, beds were comfortable, the carpet on the floor is rough, but shades are inadequate to block out any light. This is probably only a problem in the summer if you intend to sleep in.The bathroom is outdated and very basic, functional, but the tub drain was quite slow to drain the water. Also, this property is not for those who have a hard time walking up a long flight of stairs from the road. There is a driveway behind the house that we only used to unload/load, but we were reprimanded by the man next door who told us it's a private drive for his house behind this one.We were there for a large event so had the opportunity to see other properties. When comparing the cost of others, I'd say the owner should either drop the price or update it.

The. Home was conveniently located to town an beach. The. Railing around the deck uprights were so Far apart to present a safety hazard for dogs and toddlers. The washer was full of wet sheets we discovered when we were stripping the beds as told to do which is strange since we paid a hefty cleaning fee. The screen on the bedroom was missing and had been for a while according to other reviews.

The home needs to be cleaned. The rug was full of spots. The bathroom needs a new shower curtain. The property needs to be better maintained. Duck tape is't my idea of fixing a handrail! We have rented the Bryn-marie 4 years in a row, this is the first time I have been very disappointed in it's upkeep!

The location is the best of anything, its literally 10 seconds from the beach and a few minutes from the cool little town. Everything is walking distance and you feel good doing it. The bed was pretty comfortable, better than I thought, but the couches need some work all three couches were pretty uncomfortable. Other than that though, all the other amenities were near perfect, great water pressure and shower, and the barbeque is in a really cool place. Kitchen works but if your planning to cook anything beyond scrambled eggs I would bring your own pots and pans because they are very old and very thin. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company

Location is great. But ants in the kitchen dampened our spirits. A CD player would be great. Plenty of towels. Need to let us know where the garbage can is. Manager did not return phone call. Service person did not arrive as promised for dishwasher problem. Probably not stay there again.

The house was not in good condition. The carpets were very dirty - there were huge dirt spots and peanut shells in the living room, dirty spots and stickers in the bedroom. I stopped by the office to let the management company know this. The living room furniture was not comfortable, but we were lucky with the weather and spent most of our time outside. There was no WIFI, and the TV channels were very limited - thankfully it was good weather. The location was great. But it was stuffy and I had to wash all my clothes when I got home, even the clean ones, as they smelled like the house. There was a problem with the locks on the front door. I also voiced this problem to the management company, but they just said they would look at it later, did not write it down. Twice someone got stuck in the bathroom when they had NOT locked the door. There were missing window screens from one of the bedrooms.

While we appreciate having a few days on the Oregon coast . . . (1) we called agency the first day - 16th - with the issue of not having a screen in the rear bedroom window and no working flashlight. There was no return call. (2) Our garbage can was overfull when we arrived and we could smell the garbage thru the kitchen window. (3) There was a broken piece of glass in the kitchen cupboard. (4) The beds were way mushy - I guess fairly typical, but still?? (5) upon leaving one day as we went to put the key in the key compartment the key slipped out of hand and believe it or not fell through the floor boards - despite the doormat - and we had to crawl for it. Soo - not all of them are your problems but most of them.

This home is in a great location--very close to the beach and close to downtown. Parking was in front of house at the bottom of a long stairway. Two bedrooms, one bath. Great for a small family and the price was right for what we got. The house was well kept and clean, but it is definitely an older beach home and could use some updating. The furniture mix is ok, but two of the couches were not very comfortable and far from nap-worthy. The beds were comfortable and the bedding and linens were clean. Great deck out in front.

This spot was wonderful for a quiet getaway for us (two grown ups and two dogs). Beautiful views from the living area, and the dogs loved squirrel watching in the trees from the side windows. House had everything we needed for a short stay. Quick trip down the road to town for pizza. Loved being able to walk right across the street for beach access. Loved the gas fireplace. Cable went out even in light rainfall, but we brought our own chromecast, so no big deal. Bed wasn't as comfortable as my home tempurpedic, but that's to be expected, and for the price, this home is an awesome value. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company

This home can only be accessed from the front of the property which means a full flight of stairs. Driveway in the back belongs to some very unfriendly neighbors. Home has a great view but not very clean. Also has very old furniture.

Good location with good views and terrific beach access. Very efficient layout. Close to everything. A good place to stay for small groups. We had 5 and it worked great, but would not go any more than that. Stove top burners a little unpredictable (read HOT) but otherwise fine. Woodstove worked great. We hope to return.

Brynmarie - what a wonderful place! Tastefully furnished in a very Coastal Style. There were four adults, a young boy and a dog in our party, and the house was ready for us and well equipped for our stay. Easy walk over to the Main Street in town - Laneda, and the trail thru the dunes immediately across the street put what we consider Oregon's best beach virtually at your front door. This visit has been my fifth to Manzanita, and I look forward to coming back in the Fall. Brynmarie will be at the top of my list of rental properties!
