About this house rental
Sealladh an Loch is located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, right next door to the historic and infamous Boleskine House. In a conservation area, surrounded by fields, forests & mountains and overlooking the iconic Loch Ness, it offers pure peace and tranquility.
The house is built into the side of the mountain, with a huge glazed frontage looking onto Loch Ness and its back-drop of mountains. It surrounded by pasture in which sheep are often grazing – in spring you can watch out for new-born lambs. There are forests on all sides. It feels wonderfully rural, and yet the village of Foyers is within easy reach, with a village shop, post office & cafe, a pub and the famous ‘Falls of Foyers.’
There are several way-marked local woodland walks around the house, and wildlife including deer, red squirrels, pine martens and birds of prey. You can reach the shores of Loch Ness by walking down through the forest across the road.
You approach the house via a steep driveway and enter the house at the rear. With an impressive glazed frontage, the focus of the house is on light and space, with several communal spaces offering flexibility for guests:-
The snooker hall with its full-sized snooker table, is the hub of the house. Italian leather sofas and a whiskey-barrel bar table and stools offer relaxed seating for spectators.
The vaulted galleried landing overlooks the snooker table and offers further seating space – the ideal space to sit with a glass, watching the sunset over the Loch. Large, glazed windows to the front overlook Loch Ness, and double doors provide access onto a balcony. We are incredibly proud to display a selection of stunning red squirrel photographs taken by a local wildlife photographer.
The kitchen is of high quality, and finished with granite work tops. It is well equipped with a 6-hob, double-oven range cooker, microwave, large fridge/freezer, separate drinks fridge and dishwasher. A Zip Tap provides instant boiling and chilled water – no need for boiling kettles for those endless cups of tea. We have recently added an additional run of units and a drinks fridge, so there is plenty of cupboard space, kitchen equipment and crockery/cutlery.
The solid oak dining table seats 12. A highchair is available for young guests.
The garden room has views of Loch Ness to the front, fields to the side, and mountains and forests to the rear. It is the perfect place for that early morning cup of tea.
The snug, with log-burning stove offers a cosy space, ideal for evenings playing games or watching films.
There is bedroom accommodation for up to 12 adults:-
The 3 double bedrooms are all en-suite, with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and a chair.
There are 3 twin bedrooms. The large twin room has two single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and a chair. The small twin room has two single beds, chest of drawers, a shared bedside cabinet, chair and table. Both twin rooms are served by a large family bathroom.
The third twin room is located on the ground floor and has an en-suite, ideal for elderly or less able guests. It has two single beds, chest of drawers, dressing table and a chair.
In addition, a cot is available for very young guests. This can be located in any room in the house, on request.
The decor throughout is simple, with carefully selected accessories to add touches of luxury and to give a Scottish feel – Egyptian cotton bedding, fluffy towels, ‘Harris Tweed’ curtains & throws, rugs & cushions from ‘Skyeskyns,’ whisky-barrel furniture from ‘Darach,’ and complimentary hand-soap from ‘Highland Soaps.’ Our artwork is Scottish – many pieces are by local artists.
Wireless Broadband internet access is available throughout the house free of charge.
Outside space is provided by a first floor balcony accessed from the gallery, a front deck accessed from the snooker hall, and a large patio at the rear for barbecues. There are also gardens, which are kept as natural as possible, with a path up to a viewing point and bench at the rear of the property.

The house is beautiful and clean! We were welcomed to home made bread and fresh flowers in the kitchen. The property is peaceful and sits right above the Loch Ness. Only minutes away from
Dores with a small conveniance store and a number of magical hiking/walking trails. Everything we could have asked for and more.

We had a lovely time celebrating my 60th with our children and grandchildren, the only down side was the amount of flies that flew in when we opened the windows ( maybe let ppl know that when staying at this time of year about the cluster of flies as we had to spray the room and use hoover there was so many ) and the only other small down side was that when we made dinner on the Sunday ( as we just wanted to chill for last day ) the weren’t enough big pots but as i say that was all maybe leave extra towels , we were lucky the weather was amazing and were able to use the machine and get them out but we had a lovely family time there 😊

This house is the perfect house for a group that wants to eat together, using the big dining table, and at the same time appreciates the possibility to do something on one's own, in one of the different rooms or corners of the house.
The house is very well equipped, we enjoyed the tastefulness of almost everything, chosen with love and care, and a practical mind.
We fully recommend this house, one cannot be disappointed by it. Be aware beforehand that Loch Ness can hardly been seen from the house, one needs to climb a bit to see the beauty of it.

The home was exactly as advertised. Clean, modern, well-stocked, and a great tranquil location not far from Inverness. Perfect for our group of friends. Lorna the housekeeper was the primary contact, and was responsive and very helpful when our arrival was delayed due to airline issues. Would definitely stay again!

Our experience at the Sealladh An Loch house was outstanding. The location was excellent with views of Loch Ness, lovely scenery. We enjoyed sitting outside with listening to the birds in the evening. Our large group of 11 had plenty of space including 4 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The house has lots of sitting areas inside and out both upstairs and downstairs. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and included a charcoal grill on the patio. We enjoyed playing games on the snooker table also. The house was spotlessly clean. The host and housekeeper were responsive to our questions. We also appreciated the recommendations and pamphlets the host provided for suggestions to see in the area. Overall a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend staying here.

The house is amazing! Worked extremely well for our group of 3 family’s made up of 6 adults and 6 kids (various ages)
Loads of room and lots of sociable areas to be all together or in little groups, in different parts of the house.
We had a brilliance week, great weather and plenty of exploring.
Little issues were that the hot water ran out quickly and every night a few people ended up having cold showers. Not being able to control the heating was a bit of a problem as it was very warm and we had to open all the windows to let the heat out (which seemed wrong). Surely getting guests to down load the hive app and issuing access to the heating would work better?
We would definitely look to rebook.
Thank you to Lorna for the homemade cake for our arrival!

Really enjoyed our recent stay. Bright, spacious property that has obviously had lots of thought and effort put into design and upkeep. Great location to explore local surrounds from. Excellent house for extended family - plenty of room for everybody and good amenities. Lego, garden and snooker table were all great entertainment. Very easy to communicate with house keeper.

A lovely, bright, clean, spacious house. Lots of indoor space with a fully equipped social kitchen. The snooker table was a big hit.
The house could really benefit from having a tumble dryer and from being able to control the temperature of the heating ourselves.
We really enjoyed our time here.

Beautiful house in very attractive location with plenty space and sitting areas for people to spread out if wanted. Very well stocked kitchen very able to cater for large groups.
The full size snooker table was a huge hit especially as we were not blessed with brilliant weather. Lots of information about activities and places to visit nearby. The challenge of the lighting was easier in practice than it appeared in the welcome pack. Only negative was the inability to alter the heating in any of the rooms as we had three generations who have different needs.

Awesome location if you want scenery and a location for some good walks from the door. Great house especially for family get togethers. Inverness only 30mins away if needed.

Wonderful property in an excellent secluded location yet handy for all the local sites. Special mention to Lorna who was fantastic after we experienced car trouble on the last day and bore with us whilst we got everything sorted out.
Only thing missing is a tumble dryer.

Group of 10 ~30ish people stayed for a week.
Loved the location and the property is almost perfect. Everything we needed was provided.
Some little issues though; there doesn’t seem to be much insulation between floors so people sleeping in bedrooms above the communal areas can almost hear people having normal conversations or doing things in the kitchen.
The very hard pillows were a common complaint across the whole group (although we didn’t ask if there were any softer ones). Having one hard one soft provided “as standard” would be a definite improvement.
The internet is effectively only fast enough to do basic things. Given the remoteness of the location it’s not unsurprising. This wasn’t a particular problem for our group as we only needed to google things to do/book things but may be a problem for those with kids who are glued to their phone. This problem is compounded by the fact there is no live TV available and you can’t stream (especially if multiple devices are in use).
Summary is that this house is an excellent property for those who want a truly secluded getaway!

This is a great house for families and large groups. We had nine, including two small children, and there were comfortable places to gather, as well as get away. The kitchen is fully equipped, and nicely laid out.
Everything here is luxurious, and feels new. It is in a good location between St Augustus and Inverness. There are walking trails nearby, and a cemetery across the street.
If you are seeking Nessie, there is not a better spot to base your search.

Loved it! Nice, wide open spaces, tranquil location, definitely what we were looking for in a holiday. A little intimidating to find the first time, but worth it. Susan was lovely to deal with and we would definitely come back! A lot of wildlife to be seen. Somewhat inconsistent wi-fi was ultimately the only issue. Common in the highlands we assume based on our travels 😉

The house is just perfect. We were 12 including 5 children and everybody had space and private bathroom for each room which was well appreciated.
The kitchen is very well organised and the snooker is definitely a +.
Our stay was fantastic we could just regret it was only for a week.

The house was clean and spacious with wonderful views of the loch from two of the bedrooms upstairs. There were many amenities, including a large flatscreen TV, movies, and books as well as a coffee maker, dishwasher, washer/dryer unit, and a fully stocked kitchen.
My family of 5 enjoyed being able to spread out and enjoy walks to the Loch and easy trips to the nearby attractions.
We would definitely book this property again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, scenic vacation on the famous Loch Ness!

We were a group of 9 spending a long weekend at this cottage. Certainly the best place to stay on Loch Ness! The cottage is immaculately well kept, the pool table proved to be a lovely treat, luxury soft linens provided a great nights sleep. Besides that the cottage has everything we could need in terms of amenities. Finally the complimentary local scones were a delight.Must visit!
