Great weekend of fun with college friends full of laughs, conversation, reminiscing and food at a great place to stay. Plenty of room for all of us— which made for a very comfortable stay. Everyone was happy with the accommodations. We especially liked the outdoor fireplace and awesome high chairs.what a great and unique facility.

We had a phenomenal stay here. Recommended for large groups looking for a cozy cabin with a ton of outdoor space. We’d love to come again.

This house was perfect for our family reunion. There are so many places to gather - inside, outside with lots of amenities. Highly recommend this home if you need a large place to gather.

I would recommend this place hands down. The owners put much thought into making sure our stay was very comfortable. I would definitely go back again.

This is the most amazing house. An incredible place to visit with friends or family. Can’t speak highly enough of the entire process.

We had a lot of rain and the beautiful porch and fireplace offered a wonderful oasis to be outside and still comfortable. Can’t wait to come back next year.

Our family members that stayed at this property ranged from ages 9 to 75 and everyone enjoyed themselves. The property had plenty of things to do to occupy your time whether you were spending time with others or just needing some alone time. Some of the highlights for our group was the game room and the family tradition of putting puzzles together in the large dining room. Everyone is still talking about this trip and how they are ready to go back again soon. The property manager, Drew, was very quick and helpful in answering any questions before and during our stay. We highly recommend this property to anyone who is traveling with a large group that desires plenty of space.

This was my second stay here! It's so spacious and a beautiful location! We had a group of 15 adults for a long weekend. We loved being able to spread out and have space to do different activities during the day. The temps outside were freezing while we stayed but the house stayed warm and it was great to have the hot tub and outside fireplace. Drew was very easy to communicate with. We will likely continue the tradition of staying at this wonderful home for our yearly friend reunion.

We have now stayed at this property twice and had a great time both visits. There is plenty of space and they have made some nice updates. We particularly enjoy the outdoor fireplace.

Our stay was perfect in every way. We had a large group of 14 people and had plenty of room for everyone. We did have 2 days of rain but before that got some good walking and exploring done. The accommodations and property were neatly kept and everything felt clean. Everything was as it said it would be and we appreciated it. The property manager was quick to respond with any questions we had. Very grateful for a for relaxing holiday all together!

Words can't quite do justice to how special this place is. The pictures can't get there. Just do yourself a favor and book your stay! Fantastic space for larger groups (10-20). Will be making an annual or semi-annual stay here with our friends and family!

We took our college/young adult students for our Fall Retreat, and this place was amazing! So many things provided, ample space, and wonderful accomodations. The gameroom was a hit, along with the dining room to fit our whole group! Drew was phenomenal at making sure everything was good for us and even adding more time for us (earlier check-in and extended checkout) to enjoy and to accomodate our group’s needs. Will definitely be booking again!

We had a fantastic weekend and ended up just staying on the property the whole time. The house had everything we need and was well stocked. There was so much to explore and we just eat the fire going all weekend. It was a great weekend for both the kids and adults.

What a gem in the woods. The property was an awesome compound of rooms a facilities for my large group to have a college reunion! The main house is somewhat of a maze but delightfully cozy. We were thrilled at how well the kitchen was stocked with pots and pans, dishes, etc. for actually cooking for a large group. Parking was perfectly adequate for our 7-9 cars.
Although our group did not venture out for shopping or dining, we did head out to hike and found a choice of several nice trails within 30 minutes drive.
I would highly recommend this place for a family reunion, or other large group get together.

We had an absolute blast for our two night stay (wish had been a week). With my Australian aunt and uncle visiting, 16 of us got together and the place handled our crowd quite easily and comfortably. We had big meals, a great fire in the outdoor fireplace each evening, and played plenty of games. We fished in the Toe river and caught a couple trout. The place is just serene and perfect for a large crowd. Highly recommend!!!

I can't say enough about how wonderful this home is!! We will definitely be back! It is in a picturesque community that makes you feel like you've left all your worries behind.
We cooked for our entire crew of 15 the entire time we were there (3 nights) and the kitchen did not disappoint. We always found what needed. And everything was in good working order. The breakfast room is where we ate all our meals as well and it was very comfortable and easy to move around in. There is even a quirky cabinet in the breakfast area for easy storage of snacks and other food items so the countertop in the kitchen could remain clear for prepping. Even though the house rambles the flow is very nice and makes visiting, relaxing, playing games optional for all. (I'm thinking of bringing my 83 year old mom (with a walker)!
I didn't hear any complaints about the beds and mine was very comfortable. (I didn't have to use my topper that I travel with!) SO MUCH outdoor space to explore and enjoy and the game room did not disappoint with our 8 teen/twenty-something cousins!
But the absolute best part of this home is the outdoor area with fireplace (that we burned continuously) picnic tables, swings, hammock, slide and hot tub! We even got to meet "Frank Zappa" a zoomie pooch and "Camp Celo" the resident kitty. They were both very welcoming and fun to play with!
Drew and his wife responded quickly to any questions. They want you to enjoy your stay!
Book NOW, you won't regret it!

Our entire family looks forward to our yearly stay in Celo, and the Paradise House, as our grandchildren call it, is the ideal accommodation for us. A laid-back, rustic atmosphere in a lovely spot with room for indoor and outdoor activities for all ages suits us perfectly. The joyful sounds of the campers from Camp Celo blend with those of our grandchildren in the summer, but quiet corners abound too. The large covered outdoor areas mean that we can enjoy them rain or shine. We hope to have many more family gatherings there in the future.

Perfect combination of private and communal space! Well equiped kitchen. Comfotabel chairs on the deck surrounded by green.

Our hiking group made a trip to Burnsville to hike Mount Mitchell Trail (May 2023). While there we enjoyed our stay at The Cabin. Drew was great to work with and available if we needed anything. After an evening rain he came over and blew all the debris off the decks for us.
The Cabin hosted our group of 16 women just fine. The bunk room above the Guest House was a bit tight with no extra space and sharing one bathroom for 5 women was not convenient but we seemed to make it work. This would be great for a bunch of kids but maybe not so much for all adults. Also the Old Kitchen and Sunshine rooms are right off the main area of the house. (Light sleepers be aware!) The Independence room requires guests to walk outdoors to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night or cut through a bedroom during the day. Not a deal breaker but just good to know in advance. I'm thankful Drew had the map so we had an idea of where everything was.
Location was great! Very convenient and quiet.
Hot tub and fireplace outstanding. We had group yoga on the large covered deck one morning.
Kitchen accommodated our group the extra refrigerator in the Plaid room was a blessing!
Overall, our trip was a blast and I'm sure we will return again. Thank you!

Stayed with 6 kids (all under 10) who absolutely loved this place - between the slide, swing, hot tub, game room, and million places to explore the kids never once got bored and were sad to leave after a full week. A wonderful place to connect with family.

We had a fantastic time at this property. The house and surroundings are beautiful. We had a pretty large group with a bunch of small kids (age ranges 1 - 5). They had a ball and so did the adults. It rained all day on Saturday, but that didn’t matter. We still had a blast and were able to hang out outside mainly because of the huge covered porch. Loved the outdoor fireplace, slide, hot tub, game room, and river that runs behind the house. Our group is still texting pictures back and forth talking about it days later. Additionally, the owner is very nice and accommodating. It was a great experience.

We were looking for a cabin in the mountains to getaway as a family and decompress. We couldn’t have found a more perfect place. Nature walks on the property, everyone could spread out and have alone time if needed, but found ourselves reconnecting at the outdoor fireplace most of our time there. Teenagers want to make it a yearly tradition to go back and my wife and I agree there was something real special and unique about the old cabin mixed with newer updated spaces. Our parents loved it also as the entire property was easy to navigate, so there was something for all ages to enjoy. We definitely will be going back.

Loved our large family getaway. Lodge has plenty of space to “ come together “and plenty of space to “go our on way”! Drew, the owner, was on the spot for any questions or concerns. We most loved the back outdoor living space. Large fireplace? With plenty of firewood and plenty of great chairs. Kitchen is well stocked. They got you covered with any utensil or necessary spices. Highly recommend for your next large gathering!

We had such a wonderful time, in large part thanks to Drew's hospitality. The house was spacious enough for our ten adults and 6 kids and met all of our expectations for cooking, relaxing, and fun. We're coming back next year!

We enjoyed our family Xmas. It was a very different type of cabin/house than we normally stay. We all loved the cabins, slide, game house! The kitchen had everything we needed and the dining area was great. The town of Burnsville was a quaint town to shop. Will visit again!

This was the perfect property for our group of friends. Kids ranged from 7-16 and they all had an amazing time. In fact, the hardest part was getting the kids to leave the house to go explore other areas. Drew was easy to get ahold of and helpful throughout. We hope to return one day!

This property is a wonderful setting for our annual family reunion. This was our third stay and although the ownership changed, the experience, quality, value remained. Highly recommend.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the cabin(s). Plenty of space, beds, bathrooms. Well stocked kitchen. Loved the outdoor fireplace and separate game/tv room. And the slide was a big hit. Thanks Drew for your hospitality. Mike

We really enjoyed this spacious house to be with our families during our wedding festivities. The location is very peaceful and relaxing surrounded by river and woods! We felt at home far away from home!!! The host has been amazing following our requests and we couldn't be more happy to spend time there with our family!!! The location is so much better than the pictures, we had a blast !!! I really recommend it !!!

The property is incredible, with so much to do! Enough suites for everyone to be able to have plenty of privacy but also be close together. We really liked hanging out in the river and gathered around the fireplace.

Large Family Gathering
Wonderful large cabin! Our family had a blast and the property was perfect. We would like to come back. The bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms were great. We used the outdoor fireplace, hot tub and all the decks quite a bit. The area is lovely.
Something to note: Our bathrooms did not have enough towels, no shower soap/shampoo, and the grill is small/charcoal rather than gas. We made do with all. Def bring towels and soap/shampoo/hair dryers.
Again: Five stars all the way. Whole family LOVED the place!!!!!

Great Carolina Getaway!
This is a fantastic rental property. The facilities are very accommodating and the scenery is awesome. One final note: the owner deserves recognition as a caring landlord. I would highly recommend this rental for someone looking for a spacious restive mountain rental.
