It was a little challenging to find the right turn off for the place, and the kitchen equipment was a little rusty, but the place was fantastic! The location is beautiful, the hot tub by the water was a delight, and the 6 of us had a great time.

Perfect spot for a girls weekend. Cozy cabin with lots of space and comfortable seating. Beautiful, relaxing view of the river and hot tub to watch the stars at night. This is managed by a Management company and some of the services were a little bumpy, but overall wouldn’t prevent us from coming back again in the future.

Wow, wow, wow. This is the 5th year I’ve rented a Mt. Hood-adjacent cabin and this beats the previous rentals, hands down. The star of the show is the deck that overlooks the Zig Zag River. The kitchen had everything we needed and the appliances were good quality. The cookware and utensils were also good; sometimes rentals have things that have seen better days, but these were good. Great fridge. Hot tub at a perfect temp.
Mt. Hood Coffee Roasters just down the road has really good lattes.

WE had an incident with the bear attacking our garbage can. That seemed to sort itself out. The real issue that bothered us was all of the English ivy covering all of the trees. It will kill the trees and totally take over the surrounding area.

The cabin had plenty of room for everyone. It was well stocked with everything you would need. The setting was so peaceful and relaxing, it was wonderful sitting in the hot tub and listening to the river.

We have rented this home many times over the last decade. It is a great getaway to stay in the US Forest up by Mt Hood. Trees, hiking trails, biking trails and of course the river directly behind the home. We were disappointed on this trip to see that the bed in one of the bedrooms had been reduced from a large comforatbale mattress to a box spring with a 3 inch topping. NOT comfortable and one guest landed on a couch. I am hoping that the owner will reply to this comment to let everyone know that the bed has been upgraded back to what has always been there. Otherwise, do not hesitate to rent this home.

Beautiful serene rustic cabin on the river. We had a wonderful time. Would like to go back when there’s snow falling so we can use the fireplace!

Wonderful cabin and setting. The sound of the Sandy River rushing by is intoxicating. Be aware the toilet paper and paper towels are cheapest quality and no extra. You may want to bring your own. Also, the shower in the second bathroom is quite small.

We loved the cabin and the views… Only wish it hadn’t been pouring all weekend to enjoy the deck and area more!

We loved this spot! The interior was very cozy and was as advertised. I loved the fire place in the living room. The real star of this place is the hot tub on the deck, which is right next to the Zig Zag river. It’s a large really nice hot tub, and the pleasant sound and view of the river really add to the ambience.

We loved every moment of this experience, from the location to the hot tub, it was perfect. The heat in the bathroom was lovely. The smell of pine and fresh air are still in my memory. Thank you.

The sound of the river, cracking fire and warm lighting and aesthetic made for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway. The cabin was well cared for, beautiful and well stocked with kitchen tools, fuzzy blankets and games. We loved our stay and look forward to visiting again in the future. The road to the cabin may be difficult to navigate in more extreme weather for those without all wheel or four wheel drive.

This property is even more beautiful, cozy, peaceful than the pictures show. The cleanliness was only surpassed by the owner’s attention to small details and courtesies. For instance, there were various size leashes and plenty of hot tub towels by the front door. This property has all the feel of a country cabin while still providing modern conveniences. Furniture including beds are very comfortable. Plenty of supplies including first nights firewood. The notebook was full of information and very user friendly. Vacasa sent a text to let us know early check in was available and then followed up an hour in with a text just to make sure we were satisfied with cleanliness. These simple acts were quick and noninvasive but did make us feel that Vacasa and the owner valued our business. We travel 4 times a year and Hygge Cabin on the River will now be our annual October location for as long as they will have us.

All the beds are comfortable, especially the little day bed nook! Hot tub is such a bonus! The large couch and fireplace. You can’t loose with this place!

Cabin is as cute in person as it is in the photographs. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. The one minor issue we had was handled quickly (we struggled with the electric lock too- I suspect it was just low on batteries. No biggie.) We would definitely rent this place again:)

We spent 5 night at the Hygge Cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Excellent location with all the amenities we needed to make out stay one to remember. We will be visiting the Hygge Cabin again!

We absolutely loved our stay. However, the tone of our trip could’ve begun on a less stressful note as we were unable to get into the cabin right away. We received a notification telling us the place was ready for an early check-in, so we ditched our late lunch plans and raced over to the cabin to decompress and take advantage of the early check in. Our key code didn’t work, despite numerous tries. We thought perhaps it hadn’t been reset for early arrival so we decided to hang tight on the deck for an hour or so until the initial 4pm check in. At 4pm the code still didn’t work so we got on the phone with customer service. We were on hold for nearly 40 minutes until we eventually got through to someone. After 10 minutes on the line with the agent, she was able to retrieve the code to get into the key box. The door was actually locked and we needed the code to the box to get a physical key in hand to unlock the door. Once we unlocked the door, we received a new code and anxiously grabbed our bags and dashed inside. Relief! Luckily the weather was pleasant while we were locked out for the 2 hours, otherwise we would’ve been really unhappy with the experience.
BUT, everything else was magic throughout our weekend stay. Gorgeous cabin (looks even nicer in-person than photos), and incredible setting. Beds are extremely comfortable, kitchen had all the appliances we needed, comfy sofa…
Walk through the neighborhood and you won’t find a more charming community.

This property was fantastic. The photos don't really do the cabin justice. It is rustic, but beautiful and updated. Beds and couch are very comfortable. reading nook is awesome. My only concerns, the internet wasn't working the whole time, which is problematic because there wasn't cell service either and because of my work, I really needed to be reachable, so had to drive to town to get messages, etc. Vacasa did try to help me reset the equipment, but that didn't work. The power situation is a little sketchy- I think this is why our code didn't work when we were trying to check in and then the internet situation. There is a generator that kicks on when the power goes out which occurred every morning. Again, this wasn't something that would keep me from going there again- I loved the spot and I almost didn't want to include it in the review, but I thought it was fair to do so. Kitchen was well stocked, wonderful layout, very clean and maintained hot tub and home, again, beds were so comfortable. I can't wait to go back - hopefully the power issues and internet will be worked out, because I am already looking forward to returning to this gem. Oh, and the pizza place Al Forno which is super close was some of the best pizza I've ever had, including in Italy!

This cabin is absolutely perfect in every way. The location, the layout, the hot tub in the snow, the sounds of the river and even though you feel like you are deep in the woods, you can easily get on highway 26 to get to all the local spots. I would recommend this gem to anyone wanting a relaxing time away in the woods.
My complaint about this experience though is dealing with Vacasa customer service. They talk about the wood fire fireplace over and over again in the listing but do not tell you that you have to bring your own wood. They only supplied enough towels for each person for showering but no towels for hot tubbing. I asked if we could get more and they said no. The door knob to one of the bedrooms feel out as soon as we touched it and locked someone in the room and I told them about this and they didn’t even respond. Lastly, I asked for a late check out when we arrived because check out is earlier than most at 10am and they told me to follow a link they sent and it never took me to have the option to get the late check out. I then text them and they told me it was too late to request it now and were not accommodating at all. If I were the owners of this amazing little cabin I would not use Vacasa in the future due to their customer service.

We enjoyed two nights at the property. It is evident how much the owners have done to restore the cabin with classic detail and modern conveniences. It’s location right on the river is so beautiful .

This is the 4th time we have stayed here and we are truly in love with the cabin and property.
The only issue is the hot tub maintenance. I know the owners put in a new wonderful hot tub, but it doesn't seem to be cleaned as often as it should. Otherwise, it's a wonderful house.

We all loved this cabin and were sad we didn't plan to stay longer. It had everything we needed. The best part is being able to hear the river.

Our friends plan an annual cabin trip and this cabin was everything we were looking for! Fun for adults and perfect for babies who have joined the family! The kitchen was perfectly stocked with appliances like a coffee maker and utensils. It was the perfect size to cook and host for everyone. Bedrooms were cozy and clean. The two bathrooms were convenient and well stocked as well. Best feature of the cabin was the hot tub next to the river. The sounds of the river block out any noise from the highway or neighbors. I’d love to book this place again in the future!

Let me start by saying the property is absolutely stunning. Views for days and a cozy cabin feeling that can’t be replicated. That being said, on our initial night in the property our child ended up being locked in a bathroom because of a faulty door for nearly 3 hours and Vacasa didn’t send anyone to assist until we were 2 hours into trying to get our kiddo out. After a string of snarky texts and a representative who essential told us we were on our own because the property manager was off the grid and maybe we should call the fire department to break down the door (all while we’re trying to comfort a claustrophobic kid), we received a call from the property manager letting us know he had just been contacted (contrary to what the rep previously said) and would be there in 10 minutes. He ended up having to scale the side of the house, break in through the bathroom window and ultimately remove the bathroom screen and door to set our child free. Both the door and screen were discarded in one of the bedrooms and we never heard from Vacasa again. We texted, called and emailed a number of times in the days following and the ONLY response was a conciliatory “thank you for your patience, we’ll forward this to the property manager…”
We’ve since checked out and still not a word from anyone at Vacasa. My child continues to be overwhelmed by the experience and it ruined our entire family vacation. We’re honestly not sure where to go from here, but suffice to say we’re not planning on sweeping it under the rug.

Sitting above the Zig-Zag river, the home was great for a relaxing vacation with the family.
Well-stocked kitchen. Plenty of books and games to enjoy.

Lovely, cozy space
Interior and exterior are lovely. I really enjoyed the reading nook, which was well lit and facing the river. Hot tub seemed well maintained. The sound of the river drowns out light traffic, but you can still hear it at busier times. There is a home right across the river, but it wasn't occupied, so we had plenty of privacy. There are no curtains on windows except bedrooms/baths. I thought that was nice, because you could enjoy the view and scenery all around. Kitchen had everything we needed, although some warped frying pans may need replacing. There was even a coffee grinder and slow-cooker available. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. One bed was more firm and one more soft. We were given one bundle of firewood and kindling for our stay, but we were able to purchase more from the market right across 26. We would love to stay again.

A home away from home
A lot of pictures with places can be quite a let down from experience but this place exceeded any expectations. A place to get away and relax. This was just the place me and my dogs needed.

Great cabin!
Cabin was perfect and beautiful! Well stocked kitchen and classy decor and furniture which was a pleasant surprise. Some vacasa notes: no laundry detergent on site which made washing towels difficult, one of the beds was stained when we got there (ew), and the hot tub wasn’t kept well— was too many chemicals in there when we got there and there was a bunch of dirt and grime.

Very comfortable place and private. Listen to the river from the hot tub.
Only complaint is that the hot tub smelled heavily of chemicals on the first night. It improved after that. Also: don’t follow google maps! We got stuck in the snow

We had a wonderful stay at the Hygge cabin. The mix of modern and antique decor feels so cosy and relaxing. We headed home a day early because of school but I wish I could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back!
