location
The entire facility is run down. Furniture is dirty or falling apart. Walls are dirty. Bathroom door would not close. This hotel is NOTHING like the pics and very over priced.

The history and the location
What I did not like is that our room was dirty -- the floor was full of dog hair (my wife is very allergic), the bathroom and the shower were very dirty, the wall was full of soap and shampoo. Initially they gave us dirty towels, and were unresponsive to our comments about the room condition. We understand that is pet friendly but it should be clean nonetheless, as it presents a health problem for other people as it happened with my wife. We asked the person in charge at the lobby about cleaning and he did not know how/was unwilling to help us. Frankly, it wasn’t worth what we paid for the room.

the stairs to the second floor and the room could have been cleaner.

The location was perfect. Only a few blocks from bourbon st. The staff was wonderful, they completely made our stay from the moment we walked in the doors. They changed our room because of an issue with our booked one and also helped us figure out the parking. The building was very cute and comfortable and really set the mood for a stay in New Orleans.
There was nothing I disliked :)

The location was great right in the heart of the French quarter.
They over booked and moved half our party four blocks away. 2 of our rooms were supposed to have 2 queen size beds and did not.

Great location and the staff was great!

The location was the reason we chose this hotel and we were not disappointed.
The room was comfortable but floors were not clean, the restroom had wall plugs that were not flush with the wall. The couch in our room had stains on it; there was an extension cord connecting the tv to the closest wall plug.

location
room was very small, did not know the private courtyard was a regular stop for ghost tours. the “hot water was Luke warm at best, we were not able to get in the front door of the hotel one day for several hours (it was locked). we were told to put our trash by the can in the courtyard which wasn’t emptied for several days. we found several spots on the walls and ceiling that we know was black mold. we found the front desk clerk sleeping at the counter multiple times. this hotel was not worth what we paid. we won’t be staying here again

aircon wasn’t really working and the room was stuffy

I loved the location, friendly staff, courtyard, and beautiful chandelier in our room.
Our toilet could have been slightly more functional, but perhaps that was Armond making mischief.

Location was prefect to be close enough to the main street but far enough the not be interrupted by the busy noise.
First room we had the A/C didn't work which when moved to another room that rooms A/C was leaking condensation from the ceiling vent. Bring power cables, only 1 outlet not next to bed.

the staff was extremely friendly!! awesome location!!
it was incredibly filthy!! no maid service at all the entire stay. no remote control for the television and did NOT get the room we reserved!
2.0 / 5.0
The staff was pretty laid back, answered questions, seemed very friendly. It was very noticeable they did not have a lot of the tools and resources needed to do their job.
The room was picked up, but certainly not clean. The toilet was used within a short time before we checked in, dust and grime pretty much everywhere. The sink was loose from the counter and had little to no water pressure, the shower was pretty dirty, one of the beds just sank in the middle with no support (literally a big hole), a lot of things were just broken, chipped, and needed repair.
The courtyard was a nice get away if you were not crowded out by the ghost tours and their droves of patrons taking over the space.
There was not daily room cleaning which we kind of expect in these post COVID times, but when we asked for clean towels there weren't any. We had to use the same towels for 4 days.
The parking situation isn't very clear on the website, but upon check in we were told where to go to park. It was the public meter paid parking on Decatur near Jax Brewery, not a bad walk, but no valet.
No continental breakfast or even coffee despite what is advertised. No vending machines and ice is provided via convenience store ice bag from the front desk.
The location is good for either a short walk to Jackson Square or Bourbon.
Unfortunately the charm fell short with the lack of cleanliness, amenities, and just overall damage of the property.

We had the best New Orleans stay we have ever had staying at the Andrew Jackson! It was such a nice location and even parking experience even though parking is a few blocks away. THE STAFF MADE THE WHOLE TRIP THOUGH. Sennit and Noah who worked nights and the other guy that worked the morning ( I hate I forgot his name 😔) were literally amazing!! We felt like they were family by the end of the trip. The courtyard was amazing, private, and relaxing, even with bourbon being a block away. Our favorite part of the location was hanging out on the front steps at night and people watching and being super close to rouses, ccs coffee, and all the other cool shops! I will try and stay here every time I come back especially if it's the same staff. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND their duties and gave us such a comfortable and happy experience. We had a few weird things happen like the bathroom door swinging open, hearing loud footsteps, and waking up at the same time in the middle of the night, so make sure you are comfortable with those types of things. The history and significance of the location is a plus to!
The fact we had to go home 😔

the hotel looked nice from outside and in the common areas
unfortunately our room (211) was horrible. I knew it would be small (the booking sad it was small economy room) but I didn’t know it would be a converted attic with mold stains, sagging floors, and cockroaches. The hotel staff was unsurprised (“this is a swamp area”, “oh it’s room 211”) and unhelpful. Luckily booking allowed me to check out and get a refund after the first night. I’m still trying to fight the bill I received for the first night, as I cannot believe I have been charged more than 300$ to sleep in that dump.

So much personality. Love the French/NOLA influence. Hint of haunted. Excellent service.
We had a late checkout and the do not disturb sign in the door, but housekeeping still knocked and woke us up.

It was a great location! The street was quiet but close to everything! Lovely building! The front desk staff was super helpful, especially Sennit and the girl that checked us in. Both recommended places to eat, and Sennit gave us suggestions on things to go and see!
My only complaint is the bed was hard.
