Definitely recommend for business or pleasure.
Staff were exceptional! Front desk, bar, and reception all looked after me, above and beyond! Beautiful hotel, close to town but tucked away and peaceful. Beautiful views from bedroom, restaurant.
Everything was better than expected.

Lovely and would go back.
Clean, the staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble.
The only problem was the heating in the public areas but the staff put out portable heaters when required. Pillows were hard.

Short break with friends
Location. Comfy bed. Staff were excellent. Conservatory was lovely. Good food choices & very tasty.
The hotel is a little tired in places but this would not stop us from staying again.

Nice large hotel near to town centre with good breakfast
We had a large room which was in a quiet part of the hotel. Plenty of space and storage. Bathroom was great. Enjoyed breakfast which had plenty of options. Parking on site was good. Bar area pleasant.
Bit of an uphill walk back from town but not too far. Bar area was quiet in evening and was in darkness when we returned from having a meal in town. We found the barman sitting in the dark so not sure if he was happy to serve us or was hoping for an early night (although this was around 9.45pm).

Better than I expected after my first impressions arriving from the Manchester Rd entrance.
The staff without exception were friendly and helpful and always smiling in a genuine fashion. The hotel was very clean.
The public rooms were tired and very dated.
