an idyllic country cottage. it was clean and comfortable - like a home from home. we felt at home the minute we walked in.
just that we couldn’t stay longer

The property was lovely, everything was how it was advertised, clean, tidy and homely. All pre-arrival information was received in good time and well planned.
Before arrival I had sent a message to ask if we could bring our small dog who is friendly and well behaved. We were told that there was shared access with the in-laws next door and they had one small friendly dog. My sister went out with our dog on the first afternoon to be met by 3 dogs, 2 of which went to have a go at our dog. My sister had to pick our dog up as she was cowering and as she turned around, the woman from next door was coming out looking miffed, almost instigating our dog was the problem. My sister explained what we had been told pre-arrival. She then said that if the light was on that her dogs would be out, which was basically all the time. We decided from there on to not use the back yard area and took her out the front instead. Luckily our dog has not been phased by the incident but I would tell guests not to use the back garden full stop. I get the impression the in-laws are not happy about guests using it either. It did leave us feeling a bit unwelcome to be honest.

Beautiful quaint location, lovely cottage with some nice original features but modern at the same time. Spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend and would definitely return.

Excellent location, lovely cottage, friendly locals and excellent value.
The shower leaked on the bathroom floor a bit and it could do with a washing line.

Beautiful village and great location to visit the beach and a quick drive to other towns like Maryport and Keswick.
Property is cleaned to a high standard with friendly neighbours. Shower is great and the bath is deep and a great length for us tall people lol.
The cottage has everything you need and towels are provided. Wifi doesn't have a strong signal but that didnt bother me as we were mostly out exploring the nearest towns and villages.
Allonby has a lovely beach and is only 3 miles away. We enjoyed the ice cream parlour and across the road at the Cod father the fish and chips are superb.
We also loved our visit to the aquarium in Maryport.
Highly recommend a stay here, we didnt want to leave lol.
Absolutely nothing.

The cottage was fantastic.
Will be returning 😀
Could’ve done with a separate outdoor seating area to the rear. Other than that it was a fantastic property and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

Spacious kitchen with all that you needed
Shared yard with family that live there, with having a dog felt like couldn’t let him out often
6.0
The property itself is lovely and so was the owner, she was very good at getting back to you about anything.
The fact that the garden is shared with the owners in-laws, they have a little yappy dog who was constantly out in the garden. This meant we could not let our dog out because he does not get on with other dogs ( the neighbours had no consideration to maybe keep there dog in for a little while) so we could let ours out. The dog is also constantly yapping/barking when ever you go outside on the front because the gate is at the side of the cottage which also meant every time we took our dog out or went in the car he was there at the gate barking which stressed our dog out.
We couldn’t even leave the back door open because of there dog being constantly outside.
The windows of the cottage downstairs don’t open so again not being able to leave the back door open was a pain especially when cooking.
The neighbours grandkids were also playing right outside the front door which stressed our dog out when he could hear them.
It can seem like you are trapped inside, there is a table out in the garden to sit at but it looks right into the neighbours conservatory.

I like how well equipped it was, the area was lovely and the host is very kind and friendly. Very approachable if you need anything. Very comfy bed too.
There was nothing about this cottage that I didn't like.
