Meadowside Cottage was a great find and perfect for our short stay with 2 couples. We loved the contemporary but warm and cozy decor and found the sofas and beds very comfortable. The kitchen was excellent and well kitted out. The owners Tim and Karen were lovely and gave us good advice about the local area. The cottage is quiet but near to the A66 junction so excellent for exploring different areas of the central and northern lakes by car and only a short drive to the amenities in Keswick and Cockermouth. We particularly enjoyed our trip to Buttermere. A short walk from the cottage is Bassenthwaite Lake Station cafe which was an unexpected hidden gem as you get to eat on a replica of the Orient Express (Booking advised!) We also enjoyed the Silver Meadows Nature Reserve opposite the station.
Nothing to say. It was perfect!

The cottage was amazing, it was spotless and accommodated two couples. The hosts Tim and Karen were helpful when we required it. It was perfect location, Sale Fell was a quick walk to admire the views from the top. Also only £20 in a taxi from Keswick. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic all local produce and well worth it, I’d say that the black pudding is the best I’ve ever eaten! We took home some goodie bags that Tim and Karen had made up and will definitely come back again.

Great location, good sized cottage, well equipped, friendly and helpful owners
Orientation of cottage, with stepped bank behind meant downstairs doesn't get as much light as ideal. Terrace area ditto, and is also small. Parking could also be a bit of a faff if second lodge/car was also there

Excellent service, hosts were fantastic, the cottage was amazing, clean, well furnished and the bonus of having the abiloity to get food delivered was excellent.
Nothing it was all good.

Meadowside Cottage is fabulous! It has everything you need for a perfect holiday. Much appreciated extras are a fully equipped laundry room with washer and dryer and a lovely kitchen with dishwasher. Both bedrooms are lovely and each have en-suite shower rooms which are finished to a high standard. The cottage is light and airy and beautifully decorated.
The outside area is fab and a real sun trap in the afternoon.
Tim and Karen are fabulous hosts, the information they send prior to arrival about the cottage and the local area is invaluable as is their wealth of information about the local area. They were always on hand with a smile to answer any questions or give advice.
The location is perfect, the lake just a few minutes walk away and lots of walks close to the cottage.
Another extra is the opportunity to order hampers . We ordered the breakfast hamper which was amazing!
We wish we had booked for longer and will definitely be back!

Location was great as our introduction to the Lakes. In the sun, the garden space is a great little sun trap afternoon and evening and in the rain it was a great place to relax.
We loved... Kitchen - sharp knives (that's rare!) - we cooked most days. Main bedroom for sunny afternoon reading and napping was great: my daughter loved the luxury of having her own en suite.
And importantly our hosts were right on hand when we needed help or advice. Thank you for that.
