Nothing i want a refund on my stay this was the worst hotel ive ever been in
The room was falling to bits, the bedsheets were dirty, the windows wouldnt close, there was no heating, the bath had holes in and leaked, the shower was covered in limescale, the surfaces were all dusty, the kettle and mugs in the room were filthy and the walls looked like they had black mould on i felt ill after being in the room

Great that it was located in the city centre.
A load of marks and stains in the room. The majority of breakfast was cold.

Location was ideal
Some parts quite dated (unable to open windows)

Good value for money
You really need air conditioning or at least a fan in the room, especially in the summer

Me and my mum love old hotels instead of modern it’s like taking a step back in time. I love how well preserved it is.
It was a shame the pool has closed down

Staff where in helpful, food was not good, beds where uncomfortable

The venue is great and the building is steeped in history.
In all honesty it was a little dated and needed a revamp

The room was Soo cold. It smell of damp and urine. Worst hotel stay. Would never be back.

We loved this old, elegant hotel. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Specifically, we appreciated Vanessa’s help with our early check-in and her help with our bicycle storage. She is a delightful person, along with Lisa.

Excellent location. Really nice and comfy beds / room. Excellent and friendly staff.
N/A could not fault.

Although dated the hotel had charm , good value for money and great location. The hotel offered car parking facilities next to the hotel for an additional cost of £13 per day.
It was hard to get out of it. We were located at the back of the hotel and there was only the one lift which seemed to be miles away .
Don’t bother ringing reception as no one will pick up the phone. Best take the trek down to see them.

room smelt of cigarette smoke, asked for a double bed and got 2 singles. the shower head sprayed out sideways, fell off and then wouldn’t work. there were no shower screens and it wasn’t actually a proper shower just an over bath hold in your hand one so it was impossible to have a shower. we complained to reception and the lady just said it was our fault for not complaining last night. we didn’t get to our room until after midnight.

I loved the old quirky feel to the whole building and the crisp clean bedding and the location was excellent xx
The only complaint I had was that the room was to hot, the heating was on constantly x

Grand old building full of history
Room was smelly, poorly furnished and bathroom was awful
3.0
The location and the cleanliness were very good and the views from our room were out of this world. To be fair we were expecting something bad but, as run down as it is, my mate and I were fairly surprised. Overall, a surprisingly good experience. I'll recommend the venue.
Well, I'm sure the property knows this perfectly well. The facilities are bit run-down to be fair. It is clear that it is a very difficult building to maintain but it needs a bit of work. With the right investment it could certainly become a top-class destination. At the moment, it is great value for money.

The location was fab
Check in was awful the guy shouted behind the desk. You had new staff on it was mad.
Room was awful the price you pay and no option of twin beds just given a double.
Check out is 10am wow that’s mad
Just awful customer service

Excellent breakfast, evening meal, late check out, small but clean room, tea and coffee facilities.
Beautiful public lounge area. Helpful friendly staff.
Excellent value for money.
Downstairs toilets had a problem with the drains, very smelly.
Incident where a cleaner let herself into my room around 9am when I was getting dressed and not decent- - embarrassing.
Why barge in at 9am? I was there for 2 nights and not leaving that day.

LOVE the old character of the hotel, felt the history of the building the moment I walked in! Breakfast and dinner were very good! Loved the spaciousness of the room. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating!
Room was too warm, but just opened windows, so it was fine. Could not get WiFi to work in room #213, not good, but it was fine downstairs. Would have loved an 11 checkout instead of 10, felt a bit rushed especially since my train home wasn't until half 12.

Central and was a good night sleep

The location was good and the staff were very helpful at all times. The room was ok, but not the most comfortable. This was clearly once a great hotel but seems to have gone downhill recently.
The shower was awful, more water came out of the pipe than the shower head. The window didn’t open so I had to ask someone to help me open it. The tv in my room didn’t work during my week stay, despite me telling reception, nothing was done about it. The hotel also should have taken the money from my card before my stay, but they didn’t so it was very confusing when I went to check in.
