Being footsteps away from the free outdoor museum and beautiful gardens of St Fagans Castle was the reason for booking here initially. We were able to pop into Cardiff city centre for an evening meal as well as a sunset in Barry Island. There are also two neolithic sites a few miles away. Julie at The Laurels was very welcoming and looked after us with a lovely breakfast.

Breakfast was lovely The location was beautiful. Excellent pub around the corner too. Very good value.

20mins from Cardiff City centre. But we knew this. Bed was a bit too soft for us. But each to there own.

Everything was excellent with a friendly and helpful host

The Laurels is situated in St Fagans which is on the outskirts of Cardiff. It was very easy to get a taxi into the centre, and cheaper and nicer than staying there. There is a pub around the corner which serves good basic pub food. We went to Cardiff to watch the rugby and The Laurels was a great base. The museum next door is very well worth a visit as well. We needed to spend longer there, so are intending to return at some point. Julie, who runs The Laurels was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were well furnished and the breakfasts were very good.

It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit at breakfast, but it may have been available - we didnt ask.

Great location for visiting St Fagans. Very welcoming.

The bedroom and adjoining bathroom were of very high quality and superbly fitted out with towels, toiletries, tea/coffee etc. The breakfast was very good and freshly prepared. The staff were also very friendly and approachable. A very good pub and local restaurant were within a few minutes walking distance. We will certainly re-visit!

Location to museum

Julie's place was beautiful and we really felt at home there. She was so thoughtful and provided a delicious breakfast each morning. We especially enjoyed the glorious bathroom and wonderful decor throughout. Thank you for a relaxing stay!

Beautiful house and garden, well- located for our destinations of St Fagans and Cardiff Bay. Large, comfortable en- suite room with shower cubicle and roll- top bath, and lots of fluffy white towels . Delicious and plentiful breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the garden. Julie was the perfect hostess. Highly recommended !
