The views of the bay are beautiful, especially at sunset. We rarely saw anyone else on the beach during our stay and found many interesting shells each day. The kayaks and life vests were a hit and it's a great spot to paddle out for a closer view of the dolphins. The host was very responsive and helpful. When we asked if we could rinse off using the outdoor shower (turned off for winterizing), the property manager came over the same morning and set it up. The home was very clean and welcoming and we enjoyed spending time there with family.

This property is excellent! Very clean when we arrived & very well stocked! Our family gathered there for Christmas. 10 adults, 1 teenager, 4 kids 5 & under & we had plenty of room & plenty to do. Beautiful view of the bay with easy access to the beach. Host was in contact so easy to reach but we had no issues. Highly recommend & hope we can return in the future!

Well stocked and provisioned. My whole family had a wonderful time. The hot tub was a fun feature. We could not make the solo stove/fire pit work. There did not seem to be any shovel to clean out ash. Nevertheless, we had a great time. Manager was amazingly swift with all responses

From seeing the photos and booking we realized this home would be special. Romy the manager was totally helpful and gave us accurate and speedy responses as the day of travel arrived. Once there she was always on hand to help. This is a secluded and stunner of a home. We all drew out breath arriving and seeing it in the flesh for the first time. Wow location, cleanliness and litererally everything is provided here. What's more the photos cannot do justice to what you will find. We have lots of experience renting homes and this is the rare time you won't need to bring anything with you for kitchen, bathrooms or bedrooms. What's more the fire pit, hot tub and kayaks were all clean, new and fully working. Even the life vests were not tatty and a joy to use. So expect to be pampered and for the location, comforts and design you won't get better on a coastal rental than this if you want seclusion and like to cook and entertain in. 5* in all respects and highly recommended.

We had our wedding here and it was great! No issues besides the internet being slow because of the remoteness of the property.

We have a yearly cousins get- together and we picked Cape Charles and Chesapeake Bay this time. Glad we did that, the views are spectacular, you got the beach almost to yourself. The hosts were super nice, responsive and caring for anything we needed. Kids and all family had a wonderful time creating so many beautiful memories.

Dolphin Bay beach house was perfect for our family reunion vacation. Plenty of room and steps to the beach made it convenient to enjoy the sand and water anytime. House was clean and well furnished. Pat was a great host!

This was a great large home right on the beach! There were ten of us ... grandparents, 2 daughters & husbands, each with 2 young children. All adults had rooms with baths; all kids had a room to sleep in. Beautiful location. Beach was great! The host supplied towels, beach chairs and lots of water toys. Highly recommend!!!

This was our second year staying here and this is the best place ever. Such a great setup for a big family / multi-family stay. We are so blessed to have been able to enjoy this home and the beautiful area! Thank you so much!

We had a wonderful time with our family! For most of the kids it was the first time they seen the ocean. We seen crabs and lizards. Had some beautiful sunsets. Just had a great time relaxing with the family.

Picketts Harbor is a wonderful retreat. We loved the walks along the secluded shore and enjoying the beautiful sunset over the bay. From the host to the caretakers, everyone was very friendly and quick to respond to any questions. The house was well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. The whole family enjoyed their stay!

Huge house. Well appointed decor. Very comfortable. Beautiful beach. Beautiful view. Enjoyed sand crab spotting at night which has become a tradition for me and my grandkids. Grandtr caught her first fish. Loved everything, every minute. So much was provided.

We loved staying together in this beautiful house on the bay! We saw Dolphins everyday and the sunsets were amazing! I would definitely recommend this for large families. Even for older members of the family that don’t want to walk up steps as there is two nice bedrooms and a bathroom and kitchen on the bottom floor included. Nice place and very serene for relaxing and enjoying family!

As a host, Pat was wonderful. She got back to us expeditiously and attempted to correct our one concern which was the unreliable internet and cellular service. Other than that, the home was beautiful and the beach was semi private. We had a blast!! Would definitely stay there again.

This was the best vacation ever. Our family has been through a lot this year and we needed some rest and relaxation time together. The house and beach location were just perfect.

Pros - A very short walk (literally steps from the property) to access what felt like our own private beach. The house had amazing views of the bay. The furnishings were nice and in good condition. Location is somewhat remote and secluded, which on balance was a positive for us. Cons - We had some plumbing issues while we were there, which was surprising since the house is fairly new. But the property manager was responsive.

I don't even know how to explain how amazing this property is! If you love the beach but hate the crowds, then this is definitely the place for you! This house is so spacious you possibly could avoid family if you wanted lol. We saw dolphins the first & last night there, the sunsets were amazing, and the house has everything you would need!

We had an amazing vacation at Pickett's Harbor! The house is incredible- so much room for our family to spread out and sleep. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped, it also allowed us to cook and also converse with family members as they lounged in the living area. The deck was a favorite place to sit and chat and enjoy the view of the bay! The sunsets were gorgeous!!! One of the best parts of our vacation were spent on the beautiful beach area below the house-the kids loved the sand and the water was perfect for our young grandchildren:) We also spent some evenings at the beach watching the waves and relaxing! The grass area was also used to play games and catch bugs and toads!!! Pat was a great host and very helpful with any concerns! We can't wait to return to Pickett's Harbor for another great vacation!

Great house, clean, and well located.

The dolphin Bay house is the by far the best property we have been to. Very clean. Pat has provided for everything in the house. You will be amazed at the amenities. Did not have to carry a lot when we travelled to the property. We wanted a property on the beach for my son’s 10th birthday. Linda, the house cleaner, surprised my son by putting up placard outside the property and also leaving balloons related to Star Wars and Harry Potter. My son was super excited. We had a wonderful time on the property and also the beach which is almost like a private beach as there is no one around. The last day, we ended the trip by citing dolphins which made our trip complete. Would come back to this property again in heartbeat.

Air conditioning did not work in half the house for our full stay, they first offered to give us a couple nights free but then revoked that offer and said I called him a liar? I don’t think beach is private. There is a house next door and plenty of locals come to the beach. Also I got Lyme disease from a tick, apparently common on va beaches.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful home. Loved the seclusion. Great owner communication and support. Cape Charles was quaint small town fun. Kiptopeke State Park was a fun visit. I would highly recommend this to families that want Beach without the "tourist trap" vibe.

We had an amazing time at this house. We were a group of 4 families and the house was more than sufficient for us. It is literally at the beach with multiple levels of views straight to the beach. The backyard is big with plenty of room for activity. It is a great house to keep both kids and adults entertained. Pat is a perfect host and was very responsive. The best thing was that the staff were at the property when we arrived and they gave us the needed instructions. Would highly recommend this property.

This place is an absolute goldmine for families with toddlers. I wish I didn’t have to write this review because I want this property to remain a secret hideout for our family to visit again soon 🤣 the photos don’t do this place justice - it’s more amazing than it appears. There’s a baby gate built on the porch so you can let the kiddos run free without worry. The beach is pristine and easy access to/from with a safe walking path (making it a breeze to get to/from the beach with kids!). We were alone on the beach every day except for a few people jogging or walking. The water was perfect. The house had every amenity you could’ve needed. Beach toys, chairs, a grill, picnic tables, towels, soap, etc. There’s a convenience store right down the road for anything you may need. We enjoyed the fire pit at night right next to the ocean. The number of Queen and king beds made it perfect for our families to all have a comfortable place to sleep with plenty of space. This was the best family vacation we’ve ever had thanks to this beautiful property and the amenities included, and we sure do appreciate the hospitality! Thanks so much, and we hope we can come back and visit again next year!

We had a wonderful time and plan to return. The house is beautiful, spacious, spotless, and a great place to hang out - inside and out. The beach is a piece of heaven - affording long walks on pristine sand, with dolphins swimming nearby. The host is welcoming, responsive, generous. The experience is so much more than what you can imagine looking at the pictures.

A lot to explore. Perfect property for a quiet family getaway.

We came for a week arriving on Christmas Eve. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the home was decorated for Christmas. They had Christmas cookies ready for Santa making preparing for that evening easy. The property is located on a private road with direct access to the beach. We loved playing in their yard and felt like we had the run of the beach going north or south. We had a couple of dogs with us so it was easy to take them out, run down to the beach, and enjoy the outdoors. The grill was perfect and there was lots of places to sit while the kids played outside. The home is exactly as advertised except with multiple benefits: toiletries, paper products, laundry products, spices, garbage bags, etc. were available in the house. Thank you for that! Two refrigerators and two washer/dryers were an added bonus. In addition, there were plenty of beach chairs and towels for our family. Pat, the owner, was very helpful and responsive. We had one fuse go out, but she immediately responded and we were able to navigate the problem with her assistance. It was great to have WIFI for those who had to work remotely. The TVs were able to get Netflix and other online content. Some of us did not have great cell phone service, but could function with the Wifi. In all, it was a great quiet retreat for us over the Christmas holiday. We hope to stay again during the summer.

Wonder stay for Thanksgiving at this beautiful property. Easy beach access and nice little town a short drive away. Pat is a great host.
