The place was musty and smelled of mildew; it did not feel clean. The towels they provided were stained. A pane in the window was cracked and makes the room very cold and drafty at night.

Very good location for bus and ferry, restaurants and sights. A bit run down but ok.

Location cannot be beat...nextto train station and ferry to South Island. But proximity is noisy, and building/rooms are old. Excellent coffee place around corner.

Bed was not made from the person that stayed before me.
The cleaner just made it thinking it was okay.
It was very upsetting. The staff man was very nice and helped us and gave us another room.
I wouldn’t ever stay there again.
I stayed in the double bed ensuite room.

It is handy to train and bus stations, easy walk into main streets for shopping. Staff, the few I saw were pleasant and helpful. This was my second visit there, would happily go again.

Easy check in. Safe feeling inside Hotel with sercurity cards and 24hr person on desk. Clean well stocked room. Thanks alot

We liked the proximity to the railway station and downtown. Our double ensuite was clean. Generally quiet at night. Communal kitchen was well equipped, cleaned each morning, though of course not everyone cleans up after themselves. Good value for money.

Hotel Waterloo is a great place to stay with friendly stuff and good rooms. It’s important to know that parking for this establishment is off premises therefore you need to be prepared to walk fair distance to and from your car.

Good location, friendly staff, got microwave in the room. But Bed is not too good, soft and small.

Basic facilities, but very satisfactory. Comfortable bed, good shower, TV works well. Couldn't find a way to turn off the heater.

You get what you pay for. The window in my room was cracked and wouldn't close properly, meaning it was very noisy from the wind and the busy road. Room very dated, with stained linens and towels.

To be honest we were not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. A good size king bed and room was clean as was the shared toilet although no one seemed to be in the other room. Across the road from train station and bus depots so excellent if you had no hire car. Only thing it didn’t have was a fridge

The room was clean & tidy. Waiting time to book in & out could be quicker if there were two staff members at the reception desk as opposed to one. Difficulties finding a 10-15 parking spot close to the entrance in order to drop off luggage etc as vehicle had to be parked at Grey Street secure parking

The location was great for the Bluebridge ferry and train station. It is on a busy road/corner and there was significant traffic noise. The room was pleasant (en suite) but parts of the hotel were a bit shabby- but what was expected.

Yes it was pretty cheap but for this price I still expect a shower that is useable, I went without as it was so disgusting. The check in process was ridiculously slow with just one person serving. Definitely would not stay there again!

In need of a complete overhaul. Cracked and broken windows and mattresses akin to a trampoline. Room overall clean, but not good value for money. Lovely guy on reception.

I love that this was right across the street from the train station. It was also across from the water and had a Subway and McDonald’s right around the corner. Very convenient and clean.

Very good location at the railway station. (I traveled by train and ferry.) Close to grocery store and fast food restaurants. Refrigerator available (in the guest kitchen). No breakfast was offered but there was a guest kitchen.
Good price. It was a convenient place.
I had a small single room. The room was dirty but the bedding was clean. The room was damp. I had some wet cloths. They did not dry in 48 h in my room. The room was a bit cold. The house and interior was worn. But also, in the common room there were beautiful decorations. The place has obviously had a glorious past.
