Clean rooms great staff

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Extremely clean, it smelled like bleach, the linens were white, the towels white. Everything perfect. It was a tiny room, but I'm just one person so it was charming. Right on the boardwalk, what else could you ask for? I'm definitely going back there!

An elevator would be very helpful, especially with more then 3 floors and having to carry all your bags up. Other then that we stayed at Lankford hotel three times this year awesome location and very friendly staff, will be coming back. Thank you for being very clean.

Our room was so dirty, the bathroom towel rack came off the wall, the toilet did not flush. The air conditioner was set at 63, and if we tried to increase it, it started burning. The floor was soaking wet from a leaky refrigerator, and there was feces in the hallway. We left, and never got our money back cause, “no manager on duty! Never ever again

This place was the perfect place for our family vacation.

It was a good hotel however they never cleaned the rooms and thats what the fees were paid for. Overall, it was a great experience.

It was right off the boardwalk

A lovely vintage beach-front hotel. If you want old school OC then this is the place. Vintage interior and fixtures. A few cautions. First, there are no elevators. If you have bags, plan on carrying them up several flights. Second, late night when everyone leaves the beach plan on a cold shower. Plenty of hot water the rest of the time. Having said that, it was a great stay. Had a two bedroom with sitting area, kitchenette and balcony. Excellent value and clean accommodations. Literally on the beach at the midpoint on the boardwalk. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Staff are very accommodating. Note that check-in is later than it says on hotels.com. Call ahead. Building has dedicated parking, a huge plus. Would recommend.

We absolutely loved The Landlord for it's historical charm! The antique furniture was so nice and the entire older charm of the hotel was nice and unique. It was super clean and the staff front desk and house keeping were also very attentive and helpful. We loved having the one bedroom apartment fully furnished it gave us room to spread out. Beds were comfy and air conditioner worked well And the parking is right there behind the building and convenience with that also good. We walked right out the front door and we were on the boardwalk and beach. Coffee shop at hotel also nice. We stayed on the third floor with a huge front porch to sit oceanfront. It reminded me of my Grandmothers house so much. We couldn't beat the price either! Thank you Lankford! We will be back soon for sure!

Property is especially convenient to boardwalk and beach, as well as restaurants and shops. Building is old, as many in OC are, but it is clean. Room was very small, bathroom was sparse and small--no amenities whatsoever. Loud air conditioner (window unit). Convenient parking.

It was an older small ocean from hotel. It had only the basics (a comfortable bed to sleep in, small sink & shower, and a tv). In a small room. The overhead fan was very dirty & the shower had used shampoo from the previous guest. The furniture & AC are old but functional. It was fine for the short trip; a comfortable place to sleep AND right there on the boardwalk to experience all the events, restaurants, and the beach.

Perfect location. Nearly dead center of the boardwalk. The hotel is very dated, but it was clean and quiet.

Good shape for an old hotel

We stayed in the Raven room, and it exceeded my expectations. I was very impressed, and will definitely be a lifetime customer.

A charming 100 year old hotel on the boardwalk you get what you pay for. No thrills. Very friendly staffed. I would definitely stay again.

The room was extremely small and dingy. It was noisy all night with other people in the halls yelling.. We dId not feel safe. Will not stay there again.

Loved the mom and pop feel

Our room was incredibly small, the refrigerator was noisy. We had no view, but for one night it was okay. Anything longer we would have gone somewhere else.

This property is so run down with trash all over. Leaky roof. The picture of the place that expedia shows is wrong place. I would never stay there again. The entire place is so run down. Porch was disgusting

Great place

Okay room for a quick weekend trip. It’s just a bedroom with 2 beds. Small bathrooms. Most of the taller members had to sit sideways on the toilet due to the closeness of the wall lol. Water pressure is non-existent, could barely wash the sand off our bodies. But it was okay nonetheless, you get what you pay for.

Very nice place!! Right on the boardwalk so the beach is walking distance. Friendly staff and clean hotel.

Great value within boardwalk proximity

Old hotel showing its age. A decent budget option on the boardwalk just don’t expect anything more than a bed and lamps. No maid service (there was a tip envelop informing us of our maid’s name but she was an ethereal rumor not to be found). Towels are sandpaper like. Lobby is open to the boardwalk so no air conditioning until you get to your room. No USB ports. Positives: smack on the boardwalk, front desk attendant was wonderful. Affordable. Clean despite age of property. Probably would not return unless it was the only option available.
