The worst place I’ve ever stayed, we booked a room altogether months ago and the woman said we are all going to have to be split into different hostel rooms, she said they need that room for another group of three who haven’t booked in yet.. we are young women, after a very long conversation a manager came over and said we could just have that room, everything filthy all the toilets were broken and had poo in them, looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years, we were worried after reading review about bed bugs but they were putting new mattresses on the beds that day but left the plastic on them so all night they were crunching. I travel a lot and have stayed in a lot of hostels this is by far the worst! One good point is it’s very close to the stadium and restaurants!

The stay was perfect and the hostel is located near the Cardiff castle, the best location to stay in Cardiff

Door didn't work properly, and some random person came in in the middle of the night, my niece's sheets had what looked like dried blood on them, so she slept on the quilt from another bunk.

Except for the amazing location, this Hostel is home to shabbiness, dirt and most importantly “Bed Bugs”. Stay at your own risk

Extremely quiet even though shared rooms, great space for storing valuables under the beds

The offer stated it came with a complementary massage and that turned out to be not the case. The room smelled like some type of burnt oil and the kitchen was closed.

Arrived for check-in and reception claimed booking not received. 15 minutes later and after taking a photo of the booking and talking with his 'owner' - yes, it was received but only for 1 person and not the 4 as booked.
Very dubious we decided to leave and not stay at all.

I liked the beds (maybe not the mattress itself…). They all had privacy curtains. Its old and very dated but low in price and the area it is in is great! Would stay here again.

Mrs Potts is super cute. I appreciated the privacy curtains on the beds and found the place to be unique. The location is great for accessing buses, trains, and just walking. There are restaurants, fast food, convenience stores right there. And it is near plenty of tourist attractions. Laundry service is available for a fee, which is convenient. I would definitely stay again.

Rentokill equipment under the mattress was reassuring…
Shared shower facility was very poor. Not much privacy from staff.

Totally fine accommodation. There’s not much “communal” space, which wasn’t my favorite. Was clean for the most part if you don’t look in the crevasse of the bed. Had clean sheets presumably.
NOTHING TO DO WITH MRS POTTS DIRECTLY BUT SOMETHING TO CONSIDER: The Cardiff airport is NOT in Cardiff. It’s in Rhoose. The bus ride was an hour and 20 min! I had an early flight and had to be back at the airport by 5am. I had to leave Mrs Potts by 10PM the night before to make sure to get to the airport on time due to the bus not running all night. So, I ended up sleeping in the airport.

Had the best time all staff friendly and other people staying there.

Room smelled of really strongly of chemicals, very uncomfortable spring mattress. Location was good, if these could be improved on. Wouldn't recommend for more than a night or two

Bedbugs. Had to move rooms at 1.30 am after being bitten. Was then directed to a new bed on the top floor - which had men staying in and in a women who booked a womens only dorm. Then got told I could go to the basement (bit of a walk from the top floor). The basement was a damp smelling room filled with bunk beds, but no bed bugs. I finally settled down and fell asleep when at 2.30am a random man burst in (security apparently) and questioned me "who are you" because he said no one told him anyone was in there... I got barely any sleep as it took me 30 mins to calm down after him bursting in. Never again. Didn't ask for refund because it was so cheap (£12)

The accommodation was ideal. Located in the City Centre a very short walk away from the Utilita Arena where I was at. Hotel prices particularly if you are on your own is extortionate when all you want is a bed for the night. To have this as well as access to a shower, free tea and coffee plus wifi for £22, you can't really complain. The two other lads sharing the room with me seemed decent people and the cleanliness of the building was to a good standard considering the age of the building.

Horrible experience. Many free loaders sneak in and sleep in any empty bed. Not cooperating staff and had some stuff stolen. Avoid . Paid for full week for a one night terrible stay 😤😤😤

First off, I had never paid so much for a bunk bed - $95. The city accommodations were almost full and for the price I wanted to pay, I had only found a couple other hostels with a lower price, ~$30 less that this one, in the central part of the city.
The reasons I went with this hostel were the more private bunk beds with the privacy blinders and the more sturdy and less squeaky wooden frames which were practical during the stay as people came in/out without all the metallic noises.
The other big reason that made me justify the $30 difference was the advertised "Free Massage". I thought it would be a good deal given that I was coming to run the Half Marathon and after a long trip it would benefit my legs. When I ask for it, I am told this offer is no longer valid, it had been about 2yrs now since they stopped this offer. So why keeping it on the list of the room amenities other than just for bait and false advertisement?
Other than that, the price point for this hostel out of this peak weekend seems to be in line with the property conditions, old and run down.
The property is in an old bank building, you can still see some tile and plaster works from that time, which is cute. But the building is run down, in decay process and with little maintenance. Very few bathrooms and restrooms for the amount of beds they have.
Kitchen is a small room in the basement, the ceiling was falling apart due to some water leakage from the level above. Small lobby, the only common area.

I like yo stay again and again

It’s located in the center of the city. Close to all the facilities and entertainment area. Besides this, there is nothing I can say. Anyway, you get what you pay. It’s ok for short stay, but wouldn’t recommend for long stay.

It was enjoyable everything was as one could hope wide, airy, fresh rooms, wide beds seemingly clean to the naked eyes, Shower unit wide & clean toilet also clean bins emptied daily. Adequate facilities available everywhere to keep & hang our clothes. Staff members friendly & approachable. The only downside were bed bugs of which I have never experienced before & thought I was reacting to perhaps something I had eaten, & had gone out & brought medication accordingly I spent 4 nights & of course the issue got worse the back of my neck, legs & arms thinking the medication I had brought was not working I spoke to a pharmacist & got something stronger still thinking it was allergic reactions I am back home now after 4 nights & will still call it a glorious stay b/c everything was great wifi worked fine in my room, we had a fan which was very helpful. The staff were friendly & very approachable ie Julianna & Ahmed. The bedbugs which I found out was the issue & not any allergic reaction as first thought was the only bad aspect. Arriving home & going through the reviews I can see I am not the only one who had this experience if this can be sorted out then it would be great having visitors from all over this is to be expected at times thus it is surly not a fault of mgt but it would be the mgt's fault if they decide to do nothing regular cleaning of the mattresses & pillows with the right products would do the trick. I would still stay again trusting the issue would be dealt with.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY!!!
The pictures are untrue, they had us in this dirty damp dingy basement room. AVOID like the plague. Surprised we didn’t catch the plague in there!

Right in the heart of the city so a good spot to get around.
