My wife and I recently stayed at Isla Retreats and thoroughly enjoyed it. The property is very clean and welcoming; both the staff and cats :-). Katy communicates via WhatsApp and she's very responsive to any questions/issues. The villas are spotless, modern, and equipped with everything you need. Katy arranged a golf cart for us and it was waiting at the property upon arrival. Isla Brewery (cash only) is right across the street and La Patrona is a 1 min walk; there's also a convenience store across the street (cash only). The pool is nice and clean unlike large resorts which we loved. There's also security onsite monitoring who comes and go which we liked. Isla Retreats was a very pleasant experience and I'd highly recommend if you're looking to visit Isla Mujeres.

The host was fantastic! She provided a lot of helpful info on getting to the island by ferry. Also provided info on the bag handlers and taxi service.
There is a book in the room that lists local places to visit and her personal reviews.

Isla Retreats exceeded all expectations. Perfect location, beautiful tropical grounds and the cleanliness of the villas were excellent. The owner, Katy, is most welcoming and friendly, as is her family. All housekeeping and grounds people were friendly and took great pride in their work. Having Isla Retreat cats just made our stay feel more like home💜

This was our second time staying in Isla and we loved everything about this private resort! All of the staff was so friendly and warm. It's central location makes it easy to visit either side of the island. Highly recommend having Katie arrange a golf cart for you! It was so convenient to have that ready when we got there.

We loved our stay here! The facility is beautiful and so well kept. Katie is so personable and has put a lot of love into this place and it shows! Communicating with her was excellent and she even help arrange a golf cart delivery for us and she provides a guide to help you navigate and engage in the community. We stayed 4 nights at Isla Retreats, it was everything we hoped for! The staff was super friendly. The rooms were very clean and the AC was wonderful. We felt very safe and loved the location of the property. Would highly recommend.

Just Paradise❤️
Words can’t describe the beauty of this place. Katy and her father Dave were awesome, great humble people who will accommodate you base on your needs! For us it’s all about relaxing and peaceful. We got both plus more! They also will arraigned a golf cart delivered at their property without you going to compete with the local golf cart vendors and the prices are legit no questions ask. For us, we tried Villa #2 (cute one!!!) and Villa #5 much bigger space wise but don’t take me wrong, both villas are great! We just happened to be the lucky ones (thanks to Kati) and try them both! Super Host understatement.
Bottom line; Great Paradise, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION, you are on the middle of Playa Norte & Punta Azul so that make it great for you to go out at night and peaceful when you get back to this Paradise! It’s worth every PENNY spent!!

Amazing!
This property is what I would call an oasis! The design, thought and care along with wonderful owners that truly care about their guests is what everyone hopes for when renting a vacation location, this one fills the bill! From the finely appointed rooms and villas to the gorgeous salt water pool, palapa, landscaping and staff it's all there. It's safe and quiet. Katy is a great communicator and can arrange golf cart deliveries, restaurant and beach club recommendations along with information regarding the island. When we return to the island we will definitely stay at The Isla Retreats. Thank you for creating and sharing this magical place!

The BEST place to stay on Isla Mujeres
Look no further than Isla Retreats. From the moment we walked onto the property until the day we left we had a magical experience. Katy and her father have created the most beautiful, peaceful, immaculately maintained property with everything you could think you need and more. We used the pool with waterfall everyday and sat beneath the palapa to read. We stayed in a king-bed room - every detail has been attended to. The air-conditioning is fabulous, bed so comfortable, small table and 2 chairs, closet and bureau for clothes, a safe for valuables and plenty of room for everything. The small kitchen area has your own large pure water dispenser, glasses and silverware, microwave and refrigerator, paper towels, ice in the freezer and two bottles of wine - red and white! The shower is strong and has limitless hot water and there are plenty of towels, including some you can borrow to go to the beach. Katy told us about all the local restaurants and we had some of the best meals we've ever had in Mexico (have breakfast/brunch at Mango Cafe Isla and the hamburger at Madera Food and Art).
Isla Retreats is not in the busy Playa Norte area where there are lots of hawkers, loud music, and many, many people. Isla Retreats is about a 20-25 minute walk from that area where it is much more peaceful and in an area that has lots of great restaurants you can walk to, a huge supermarket, and nice walks along the ocean. You can get anywhere on the island in a taxi for a mere $2.60.
One day we rented a golf cart and they delivered it and picked it up from Isla Retreats. Katy also arranged a private sailboat cruise for us - it was just the two of us and Juan, the master sailor. As we sailed through the beautiful blue water we passed many large sailboats and catamarans with crowds of people and loud music - we were so happy with our choice that day - it was just spectacular.
We were so incredibly happy that we found Isla Retreats and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone planning a stay on the island. Katy is always available to help and answer questions and all of the Isla Retreats staff were friendly and always so helpful.

The Perfect Week
We are so glad we chose Isla Retreats. We've been to the island at least 10 times, always trying a new place to stay, and Isla Retreats was definitely one of our favorites. The unit we rented was really clean, brand new, and it felt like staying at a luxury condo. The bed was super comfy and the shower was huge with great water pressure. The grounds and gardens were immaculate and the heated pool was incredible. It felt like our own private sanctuary. We loved the location mid island, so close to Mango Cafe and the grocery store. Our host, Katy, was there on site to take care of everything we needed and provide us with some great recommendations. We can't wait to come back! Highly Recommended!

A little slice of serenity
If you are looking for a nice quiet place to chill out this is the place to come. We stayed in villa #2, which is really just a bedroom and bathroom. If you want a sitting area (living room) and kitchen you need to book villa #1. The room was just fine but not a lot of extra space. There was a dresser and a closet so room to unpack. Plus there was a fridge and plenty of purified water. The pool area was our favorite thing about the place. It was a beautiful setting especially when the fountain is going. There are plenty of chairs and it’s so peaceful. No loud music like you often get at bigger resorts. Plus the pool is heated. Katy is a great host and her advice helped us make the most of our time on the island. The bottle of wine in the room was a real nice touch. For such a nice place I would have expected that there would have been bathroom amenities like shampoo and lotion provided, but that’s not the case so make sure and bring them. It’s a good location mid-island and you can walk to a handful of restaurants. Katy arranged a golf cart rental for us for a couple of days and we would recommend that as a way to explore the island.

Very Posh
I don't think the pictures even do it justice. The rooms have beautiful finishes - marble countertops, gorgeous kitchens with everything you need, beautiful bathrooms. The pools is in the center of it all and is perfect for hanging out. You can relax in the sun or the shade, in the wading area water or out of the water. I loved our time here. Would highly recommend.

Relaxing Retreat
A relaxing retreat… that sums up my stay at Isla Retreats. Right when you walk onto the property, you feel a since of relaxation hearing the pool fountain running and seeing the lush landscaping. The villas were beautifully decorated, spacious and fully equipped with anything you would need. Katy and Dave, the owners, were so welcoming and accommodating. I enjoyed getting up early to watch the sunrise from the rooftop lounge area or taking a short walk to the Caribbean. So many yummy places to eat and fun things to do on the island.....Isla Brewing, Mango Cafe, Red Buddha Yoga!!

Awesome, quiet small place to get away
Awesome place. Nothing like you would expect from the outside. Very new and very well maintained. Quiet inside the property. Location is good - in the middle of the island, so easy to get to wherever you want to go. Great restaurants close by. Walk to the beach for sunrise. Owner worked with us to ensure our stay was great.

Absolutely wonderful stay at Isla Retreats
My wife and I spent two wonderful weeks at Isla Retreats. The Villas and grounds are stunningly beautiful and are impeccably maintained. We stayed in Villa2.which overlooks the gorgeous pool. The king-size bed could not have been more comfortable. Our Villa was beautifully designed and outfitted. The central island location was the ideal launching point to explore both ends of the island. Many of the best restaurants on the island are located nearby, as is the largest supermarket. The owners, Katy and Dave Hochmayr, were a pleasure to communicate with in arranging our stay. But more importantly, they went out of their way to make our stay memorable, making us feel as if we were family. Katy provided us much advance arrival information in terms of recommended transportation means from the airport to the ferry, golf cart rental options, etc. This was our 5th vacation stay on the island, and by far the best and most beautiful rental we have stayed in. In summary, Bravo Isla Retreats!

AWESOME GET-AWAY!!!
My husband and I just spent 5 days at Isla Retreats. We rented Villas 1 & 2 with my sister and brother-in-law. Our accommodations were perfect! The grounds are beautiful - especially the pool - and the rooms very clean (the maid service helpful and friendly).
The mid-island location of Isla Retreats is great! Very convenient for anything that we wanted to do.
Katy and Dave are excellent hosts, answering all of our questions and making suggestions for restaurants & activities.

Highly Recommended, incredible attention to detail
Isla Retreats is a beautiful new resort in a great location, mid-Island. Dave and Katy paid attention to details when they designed and furnished this brand new resort providing all the comforts of home. One we were ecstatic about was the very comfortable bed as that is a rare find in Mexico. If there was anything we needed, Lizbeth was readily available to provide fresh towels or maid service upon request.
Our room was well laid out and the bathroom was spacious with high quality linens. Dave gave us a tour of the property, the other units were also top quality and comfortable. The layout of Isla Retreats is unique because when you enter the resort you immediately feel like you've been transported to a tropical paradise, with beautiful sculptures, immaculate landscaping and a gorgeous pool with waterfall.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Isla Retreats. Thanks Dave and Katy for being wonderful and accommodating hosts!

Perfect location for couples!
We normally stay at Nautibeach and were worried we would miss being 'beach front', but that was not the case! The pool at Isla Retreats was lovely (and the water was cool!) and we rode our golf cart a short distance to Playa Norte when we wanted to swim in the ocean. Our villa at Isla Retreats was perfect for my husband and I and it was beyond beautiful. The decor was tasteful, the bed was comfortable and you can't beat the location. We will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend.

Gorgeous Isla Mujeres Villa
When our flight was cancelled due to hurricane Irma, Dave and Katy most generously moved us to their new villas on the island. This was the most beautiful place I have seen, marble statutes, lush tropical landscaping, beautiful swimming pool with waterfalls, outdoor tiki bar -- this was just the outside area! Our room had the most comfortable bed, huge walk-in shower. The construction of these villas is very high-end. They spared no expense. We rented a golf cart and really enjoyed finding some great restaurants -- The Mango Cafe and Limon's -- and enjoying real island living. Thank you so much for being a great host!
