We saw mixed reviews when booking, but couldn't be happier that we selected this property. The property was very clean and very spacious. The kids loved the pool, and we made home cooked meals in the kitchen, ate as a family at the dining table, and lounged on a large couch in front of the TV together. Everything we needed was provided (soaps, kitchenware, towels, etc.), and the few questions we had Renter's club answered my text message in minutes. Would definitely come back for another stay.

Washer, dishwasher, master bathroom toilet, and pool heater weren’t working properly. Heater got addressed immediately but we felt it was too many appliances not working properly upon our stay. Bottom rack on dishwasher broken. Property managers response was just well are the dishes clean? The dishes would be cleaned but EVERY TIME you would have to lift the bottom rack up with ALL the dishes on the rack because they don’t feel it’s necessary to get the wheels fixed for pulling the rack in and out. Master bathroom toilet ran after flushing a lot. Washer would run and then would be filled with water and wasn’t doing the spin cycle correctly. Taking it twice as long then it should have to do a load. Pool heater had a gas smell upon our arrival and they had to send someone to fix. The property managers response was basically just that well your in a house things are gonna happen. Of course things break and have to be fixed in a house but there is NO WAY there should have been that MANY issues with appliances in things. They should be better at keeping up things on this house. When you book a vrbo and expect for these things to be working they should work. One thing not working is more reasonable. I already do upkeep on my own house, I wasn’t looking to do a bunch of upkeep for a vrbo home. The property manager that I spoke to wasn’t very sympathetic and polite about this many things not working. House location was good for walking to coffee shops, some shops, playground.

The ups: The location is absolutely perfect. The openness of the main floor and the beautiful brick and wood floors is gorgeous. The pool is a wonderful small pool. The beds were all very comfortable. The downs: the property was unlocked when we arrived. The front porch furniture was covered with soiled sheets and torn pillows. The primary shower was covered in mold. The outdoor areas had not been prepared for our stay and was not simply recent leaf fall making those elements not usable during our stay, which was one of the main reasons I selected this home and paid extra for heating the pool. This house has incredible promise and with just a bit more turnaround care would really make this somewhere we would return.

This is my 2nd time staying at this property this year! I really enjoyed the convenience of being close to downtown and the Galleria. Enjoyed being able to walk to some local restaurants. House layout is great. Kitchen is open into the living room which makes it nice to engage with family as I make a special family dinner. It was overall just awesome! I will definitely stay here again!

We can’t say enough good things about this property. Everything was lovely. The location, the home, the amenities, the beds, the pool, the reservation process and communication—all was wonderful. We also appreciate the professionalism and responsiveness of the property mgt company and property manager. We had a great stay and highly recommend.

My friends and I stayed at this property for a long weekend in October. The house was clean and inviting — with lots of natural light and tons of space to gather to talk, eat and relax. The pool was perfect for a quick dip, even in October!
The property management was helpful, attentive and even sent someone over to look at the lock on the door when we were having trouble with it. Beds were comfortable and linens were clean and comfortable!

We needed a place to stay while our new home was being made ready. The pool was excellent for the kids, and they actually really like the artificial turf, which I wasn't sure about. The house itself is stylish, but you can tell that its been a while since it has had a refresh. Its just the wear and tear of having a rent-home, I'm sure. Just know that the photos are accurate in terms of what's actually in the home, but it isn't as new looking as when the pictures were taking (maybe 5-7 years ago?)

The Church House is so elegant, with a timeless beauty. The pool is perfect for kids- just deep and big enough not to worry. This house is meticulously decorated with beautiful art and quality material. The neighborhood is so nice. Taking a walk, you will notice historical homes that have been restored to their former glory. The AC worked great. Access to Disney + was a win for the kids, a fully stocked kitchen with every thing you need but food. We didn’t have to leave accept for the one event we came to Houston for. I definitely want to stay there again!

Overall, our stay at this vacation rental house was a fantastic experience, thanks in large part to the delightful pool that brought endless joy to our children. We were a group of CT moms who came down for a girls' trip to the Final Four and this house was a perfect home base! The Heights is a great neighborhood and we loved the heated pool.
The host was super attentive and easy to reach. Definitely recommend this property!

We were pleasantly. surprised by how well the pictures and description matched reality. The house has a great shared space - we were there for work and selected the house because there was space to work and collaborate - the space was PERFECT for our needs.

Great spot to stay for a girls’ weekend with a walkable neighborhood and lots of bars/restaurants nearby. The pool is in the front yard, and we enjoyed a daily cold plunge with brisk February temps!

The property is great -- a really neat house and well appointed. My family of five (two adults and three kids in the teen/tween age group) and my parents all stayed there. The house has great open space for the kitchen and living area and the bedrooms are great. Bathrooms are good -- not very large but big enough (especially given the location in a historic area of town). We really enjoyed it and would stay there again.

We loved the neighborhood and location. The one big room concept was excellent for us to gather together for our big meal. We were confused about the pool: we thought it was heated. But the property manager came over right away to turn the heat on and so the kids enjoyed the pool even in the rain!

I stayed at this particular property to celebrate my 30th birthday with my close friends and family. The property is conveniently located to great restaurants and shops. It is also located about 10-15 minutes from downtown Houston. Inside, the property has a great modern look but still remains historic which we liked. It has 4 bedrooms which was just enough for 5 people because 2 other guests were unable to attend. If they would have attended, it may not had been enough room for us all. 3/4 bedrooms had TVs so no one slept in the room with no TV. We were unable to use the pool due to the mosquitoes which were horrendous so please bring repellent. I addressed this with the property manager in which she credited us and we greatly appreciate but it was still disappointing not to be able to use the beautiful pool. Overall, we feel our stay was okay as other instances occurred which I privately addressed the property manager. Hopefully they make the necessary improvements and the house will almost be perfect.

Great house, even better location
This house has it all! Super great hosting space for a group of friends upstairs, outdoors in a covered fanned area as well as a small pool area. Would definitely reccommend for a family, girl friend or guys trip, or a nice get away! Very well decorated. Highly recommend.

Spacious and centrally located.
For a group with a lot of guests know that this property can accommodate. The living space of the second floor has a lot of wonderful ambiance light. The communication in rules is harsh with a focus on the punitive. We were a 60+ editorial group and the messages remained the same.
The pool looks inviting but the photo’s image makes it look larger than it actually is. Still it is 7 tiles by 17. The dishwasher had soured water and leaks below. A downstairs toilet in the master doesn’t shut off. I wouldn’t have mentioned these but the Renters Club that oversees did not answer my communication. The parking has a chronically muddy space that needs to be filled with black star gravel so that the driver isn’t navigating mud upon exiting the car.
The outdoor steps which are required to enter this duplex have an uncomfortably low rise. Everything you bring will ultimately need to be carried upstairs.
This sits in a wonderful neighborhood (I know as I’m a Houstonian) but the space between the duplexes is a thin wall so light conversational noise carries. Be careful about “noise”.

Overall excellent stay. Pool, volleyball net and yard for kids to play with large living space provided a great place for our family of 6.

Cozy house, great neighborhood
Stayed here with two friends. We were looking for a place just to chill and take turns driving our friend to treatments at MD Anderson. The Church House really served us well. We loved doing power walks through the cute neighborhood and there were lots of good options to order in food. The Wi-Fi was out when we arrived, but the building manager was on top of it and had someone out the next morning to fix it. Some rental houses are sterile but this one had a nice homey feeling.

Great family area
The house is located in an amazing area close to trails, parks and restaurants. The house was so beautiful and unique it was a nice change from our usual routine. The host made himself very available and answered all our questions. Would definitely come back next chance we get!

A/C not very cold. Needs repair and bug attention. Large kit/living/dining/tv area was awesome for our family of 10. Plenty beds & pool area awesome. Great neighborhood, plenty things just a short drive away.

Needs Maintenance
The home would be great but the it needs a lot of minor maintenance. Light bulbs out, baseboards/trim coming loose, holes in the stairwell wall, master bath faucet loose... etc. Not to mention the hairball in the master shower. But the beds are comfortable and the pool is nice.

Excellent Home Base!
This was the perfect location for cooling off and relaxing after Pro Lacrosse Camp. The accommodations were updated and super cool. We had everything we needed. We also appreciated the owners quick response to all questions! Would highly recommend and will stay again if need a house in that area.

Clean spacious house in unique neighborhood setting
Super clean and well appointed home. Our kids loved the pool and adults enjoyed the beautiful upstairs of the home. Beds are super comfortable with clean crisp linens. Location is perfect for exploring the Houston area and close to parks if you enjoy walking or running. Communication with host was quick and easy. Highly recommended!
