I will start with the good. The staff were very kind. The breakfast was awesome. Omelettes made to order, pancakes, coffee, orange juice, English muffin, bagels, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruits, cereal oatmeal, everything. There was a person who was constantly picking up the dirty dishes and with a smile and conversation. The room was perfect with a door that separated the living from the bedroom. Wonderful idea. Smart TV with numerous channels. Complimentary drinks during happy hour and a bar till 10:00 PM. Now for the negative, on the first night the shower in our room backed up. My husband went down to the front desk to advice them. Quite awhile passed and we were due at our families for dinner but we hadn't been able to shower. I called the front desk from the room and advised them that noone had shown. Within 10 minutes someone was there to clear the back up. The next day the toilet in the room was backed up. This time it didn't take too long for someone to clear the back up. The ice machine apparently leaked a lot of water and our room was next to it. The next day the carpet smelled and the smell was going into the room. At this point I didn't bother saying anything because I didn't want to have to change rooms. Out of 4 elevators only 1 was working. Thankfully by Thanksgiving they had 2 more up and running. The hotel had a cruise vibe with the rooms inside facing down to the atrium. I would stay there again, I would. All in all it was a good stay

Love this Embassy. The lady that used to work in the breakfast area (short blonde hair) is now at the front desk and is always wonderful. The other ladies at breakfast are also super friendly and kind. Rooms are always clean and very spacious. Great happy hour with snacks. Great location and staff are just wonderful, they actually remember the guest as we spend a lot of time there during the Virginia Union University football season.

We booked this hotel last minute and it turned out to be pretty decent. The breakfast was good, the rooms clean and the bath water was very hot.
This was my first time staying at an embassy but it’s definitely getting added to my approved list of hotels. Overall a really nice property.
The only drawback is that the elevators in the hotel didn’t seem to accommodate the number of guests but there was also a marathon being run in town during our stay so maybe just an abundance of guests

The hotel had a lot of nice amenities. The breakfast great, and the evening reception was nice. The staff and security were friendly and conscientious. However, the small details that you’re used to with an Embassy Suites were missing. The AC in our room didn’t work, so we slept with the balcony door open since it was cool outside which made for a lot of noise. One of the elevators was down, and the cleaning staff showed up at 9am the day we were checking out to ask when we were leaving. It was a good stay but not great.

Room was not very clean. Dirt on floor in bathroom and on sink. We also went to the front desk and asked for a cover and pillow for our daughter who was sleeping on the pull out sofa and we were told it would be delivered and it never was.

The hotel is beautiful! There is a $10 parking fee per day. The room we got was huge and very well mantained. Definitely stop by the bar between 5:30 and 7pm for their free snacks and wine. The breakfast was really good.

Rooms are aging, AC struggled to cool down and hotel was aware and had no suggestions to help. 1-2 (of 4) elevators always seemed to be broken the whole week. Breakfast is the same every day if you stay all week- no variety. Rooms are large & facility is clean.

The front desk staff greeting us were excellent, as well as the everyone in the dining area . The evening front desk person went out of her way to look as unwelcoming as possible . Our executive suite needs work . The bathroom door is rotting away and the shower leaks onto the floor . We had to leave a towel on it which was always in the way of the door as the bathroom is very small for such a large room . We were next to a smoking room where the people continuously opened the sliding door for the smoke and threw their butts on the pavement . It was annoying and there should have been a section of rooms where smokers can stay rather then spoiling or time there .

We drove 13 hours to the hotel only to be told we don’t have a room and we paid for the room. Very upsetting that we couldn’t be placed in a sister hotel it was just like oh well next in line.

Staff was friendly enough but everything else was absolutely terrible.
Rooms were dirty and falling apart, bathroom was not stocked- had no toilet paper or shampoo/conditioner. Despite the room being empty all afternoon, our rooms were never cleaned or restocked.
Hot and Cold water on the shower was backwards and easy to scale yourself. Had my children tried adjusting the temp without prior warning from me, they could have seriously injured themselves.
Air conditioner did not work in the entire building, our room was over 80 degrees the entire stay.
Three of four elevators did not work so getting from the top floor to ground floor took forever.
It really just seems that this place is slowly falling apart and in serious need of repair and better management.

First the hotel turn the a/c off for the winter all my years of traveling never heard of this rooms where hot had to keep the sliding doors open then you ended up with bugs in the room. Then there was only one elevator working and I was on a floor that was even worse

I was in Richmond for a memorial service. Booked here due to reputation for awesome happy hour, but alas, not at this location. Breakfast wasnt great, either. Would not stay here again.

Staff was very friendly, but the hotel is in dire need of maintenance. Elevators felt unsafe. Two of the elevators are not working and a third of the four elevators got stuck while we were there. Carpets are filthy. Bathroom door felt like I was gonna fall off. Shower door didn’t shut completely Things looked rusty and old. The common area where food is served was very nice though.

The property itself was very nice and modern. One issue that arose was that only one of the two elevators worked, which made it very congested and slow to use. One of the staff said they have been waiting for parts for a month. Another issue was that on our hall it smelled like trash; my best guess was that a trash chute had been left open somewhere. Unfortunately the door where the odor was coming from was locked. We called the desk and they were great in responding quickly, and when they smelled it, they immediately moved our room to a different part of the hotel, and they even sent up some treats from the shop. After we moved, the other hall was fine, but we checked and it did not seem they fixed the trash smell before we left. Maybe because it was the weekend they could not unlock the door but it seemed quite strange to have the smell of garbage in an otherwise nice hotel. We were sorry not to have had a better experience.

I loved my stay here! The complimentary breakfast was a 10/10, and my room was so cozy and clean. Staff was super accommodating when I extended my stay and asked any questions, and it was definitely worth the price. I booked this room same day and was accommodated with no problems. Thank you!

Lovely accommodation. However couple of bad lights/bulbs, refrigerator not turned on and bath room was tight. People were all very pleasant and helpful. Overall, my preferred places ti stay

The property was nice and I did enjoy the “happy hour” with the free drinks included, the bar tender was extremely friendly. Biggest cons were the short staffing, there was a huge line at check in with one person working at the desk, it took about 45 min to get my room key with my husband and kids waiting in the car with our luggage, and the elevator was down and by the looks of reviews it’s STILL down…. I’d stay here again but I would love to see changes made within the staffing and accessibility of the elevators.

The place is very nice and clean. The bedroom area is spaceous and the suite area was very nice and spaceous. Big screen TVs in both rooms if needed. Mini refrigerator and sink are nice. The lobby, bar area, and breakfast area are very nice breakfast was excellent.
My only downsides are a very small bathroom and slow elevators. The one set of elevators was not working.

I recently stayed at Embassy Suites by Hilton Richmond and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Despite the outdoor temperature being 55 degrees, the room was uncomfortably cold due to a lack of heating. When I reached out to the staff for assistance, I was advised to turn off the A/C and open the curtains to warm up the room with sunlight. This was not an effective solution and left me feeling quite uncomfortable throughout the early morning.
Additionally, the hotel experienced issues with its elevators, with half of them out of service. This caused significant inconvenience, as many guests, including myself, had to use the stairs instead. Overall, these problems made my stay less enjoyable, and I would not recommend Embassy Suites by Hilton Richmond based on my experience. I hope they address these issues for future guests.

Maintenance was poor - bathroom door warped so couldn't close; the bar with rollers wasn't anchored so difficult to impossible to open/close; popcorn ceiling in shower coming down; one whole bank of elevators out of order (apparently, a chronic issue); because of shortage of elevators they were very slow. The staff and guests were very inconvenienced; pool was out of order at least one night because of chemical imbalance problem.
We all (6) of us were sad pancakes aren't offered on the weekend.

Bathroom is dated and in bad need of renovation. Overall room was clean and comfortable but bathroom shower head leaked and dripped for 3 days straight making a pap=pap=pap noise all day and all night. This may not seem like a big deal but it is just this type of nuisance noise that is used in interrogation labs as the constant noise becomes so annoying it plagues your mind.
My biggest complaint was despite having a HVAC
control unit on wall you CANNOT control the temp.
I am anemic and I cannot take cold environs. I tried
and tried to adjust temp to no avail. It was explained
to me that in the guest rooms we cannot turn the
unit to heat only options are turn unit off or have
constant A/C. I was offered an add'l blanket.
Toilet sits way too low to the floor...I mean drop it like its hot low. There is breakfast included and an evening happy hour not much to brag on but hey its def much more than other hotels offer. Fridays is literally next door and Mission BBQ across W. Broad Street. Balconies are only for aestethics as you cannot actually step out on it.

We stayed 3 nights and only once did we have room service to have it cleaned and that one time, we had to make several calls to have it done.

This stay was horrible. The AC in our room was not working well; it was so hot in our room. I told the lady at the front desk, and nothing was done about it. The bartender acted as if she did not want to be there when we were trying to eat. The elevators were not working, and we were on the 5th floor, which made it a nightmare getting up and down to the ground floor. The room was semi-clean but could have been better. We had no room service, and we stayed for three days. I will never stay here again. I advise you to stay somewhere else. I was utterly disappointed in my stay.

I really hate to give the Embassy such a low rating but my room was hot my entire stay. First when I checked in the lady was extremely off putting and acted like I was interrupting her scrolling through her phone. When she did finally put the phone down she was short and rude. I got to my room and noticed it was pretty warm. I turned the air down and gave it time. An hour later the thermostat was still reading 78. I called to the desk and they sent maintenance. The man came and held up a reader to the vent in the sitting area but I kept trying to explain that it felt fine in the sitting area but hot in the bedroom. He would never come in the bedroom area and said the thermostat didn’t read correctly. He already had a fan with him and said the room just needed circulation. Well, it didn’t help and it was miserable warm. We finally couldn’t take it the next afternoon and called again, they really just refused to move our room. Another maintenance man came and this time he actually opened something in the ceiling and after a few minutes we could finally feel air. It took all night to cool down so another warm night. We finally woke up to a cool room on the day of check out. I voiced my concerns at the desk and nothing and not even an apology! Not to mention all three elevators were broken and everyone was forced to use one and the lines were long and I would end up just climbing five flights of stairs because it took 20 to 30 minutes for the elevator to come.
